hello guys, I hope you're all doing well, I got the same damn problem I can't resolve, well my wireless driver isn't working if anybody could help me because each method I'm trying doesn't work at all, I've tried that one,I've downloaded this kext from the web the atherosAR5007EG.pkg because I got an Atheros wireless card, and then I installed kismac but it's still not working. I found that tutorial on a forum on insanelymac.com so I hope someone has already encountered the same problem than me, if there's a solution, please help me. Hi guys I'm gonna need some backup, because i got a big problem with my wireless driver on my hackintosh. when I installed leopard 10.5.6 on my p.c, the wireless wasn't working but airport could at least launch even though it couldn't connect to any wireless network but ever since i updated airport from the software update things, have become complicated, now it says there's no airport card installed whereas before it could recognize the card but it couldn't find any wireless network. I need some help to get the wireless driver working, please anybody help. Acer aspire 2920Z i don't exactly know what kind of wireless driver is installed on my computer. Isn't there a software which can help me to know my hardware configuration, just like everest on windows. here is the everest report from my xp hardware configuration, i don't know maybe that might come in handy. Scroll down to see the network configuration of my acer If this report isn't sufficient enough, then what could you advise me to use for displaying my wireless network specification. device Description Type Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter PCI Broadcom NetLink BCM5787M PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller PCI

Well, I'm afraid my knowledge can't go further, but if i were you,i'd download the modified version on the web go on google.com and try to find some torrents links and download that version, i don't know if I'm supposed to give you all these details, because I'm afraid to be kicked out of the forum, but anyway, let's do it, try to download the modified version on google or try to look on google about how to modify your version, I'm gonna help you a bit and look for you, but meantime i want you to do the same thing, do some researches, see you.

Cool, you gotta use your acer, because I don't know how to do with imac, ok if you did exactly as I said, so start the installation process, insert your cd, and make sure your usb hd is plugged in, and launch the installation, but please this time do not forget to select dual boot, in the patche's section I guess, i don't know if it's the same thing, but I'm using ipc 10.5.6 leopard, so you have to select dual boot it will allow you to boot from 2 operating systems on different hard drive, ok, once you did that , oh by the way have you checked your hardware configuration and wrote it down somewhere, because when it will be about choosing your hardware configuration with mac you'll have to select some drivers who have something in common with your xp drivers, ok just do this, and i'll come back to check again, do not forget to format your hard drive with the utility disk in (mac os extended journaled). ok see you around.

Ok after reading your post, I noticed that you used your imac to get your hard drive ready to use, but look I want you to do something, if I'm not wrong you told me the hard drive you wanna install mac os onto is an external drive ok look, do these steps, go on your xp partition and log on, and format again your usb hard drive using the hard drive management of windows go to the taskbar menu click on the window icon and right click on computer and then click on manage then you'll see your external hard drive, click on it and delete your partition and create a new one, and just follow the creation steps, and you will choose primary partition instead of logical partition and make your partition as active, and when you'll install mac again make sure to select the dual boot option if you don't do it, I think there's something which will go wrong again, ok try to do this, and I'll see where it leads to. Let me know if it still doesn't work.See you.

well I don't think the problem comes from your hard drive, sata or not sata there's always a way out. OK look go into your bios again and look for the main section not the boot or security section like I said above, sorry to have misled you, ok here you go, go into your bios and look at the main section and look for sata mode and do just like I told you to do before and if you still don't find the section, so do not worry , it means there's something else going on. first tell me how have you formatted your hard drive and have you made your selected partition as active, have you done these steps?

Hi jmciver I don't know if I will really help you but I'm gonna try as best as I can, well I'm the one who posted the topic just right above yours, and I finally succeeded installing mac os x on my computer and trust me I got lucky because everything is almost working, yet I didn't try the wifi and the ethernet but as I use a usb modem to connect to the internet so I'm not really upset now, but the sound is working fine. I know we don't have the same model of computers but it's the same house(acer), well okay here's what I did, first of all you need to format the partition of the hard drive you chose in NTFS and next you have to make that partition active so it will help you to install mac, once you have done everything to get your hard drive ready, restart your computer and get into the bios, there's an option you'll need to activate first, I noticed that step while going through many forums, and now I understood , that windows xp works fine with ide mode and mac os works with the ahci mode, let me be more precise, this is what I did, when my partition was ready to use, I restarted and got into my bios, there is an area called boot or security I don't really remember, but in this area there's an option (sata mode) by default it's set to ide mode, but if you click on sata mode, there is another option who will be available that's ahci mode, select that option and try to install your mac os again, one more time, be sure to use the disk utility to format your partition with the mac os extended (journaled) files system and for the selection of your drivers and kernels in the customization panel, I advise you to download everest and install it on your xp partition, then make a summary of all your hardware configuration and you will also need to write down some of your drivers. e.g: the sound, the wireless, the ethernet, the cpu etc.. it would help you to choose the right configuration of your computer while installing mac os, I wish this message will help you, but if you have any questions just post them here and I think the others member will be glad to help you. Let us know if everything works fine. See ya. One more thing if at random when your installation still doesn't work and you can't get back to windows do not hurry just get back into the bios and put the sata mode back to ide and restart to boot on your xp partition. bye.
