  1. 5670 vs 6670

Which one has better support in Lion with minimum issues as possible (dvd player, sleep, etc.)? Sapphire cards are pretty common here so if an exact model is recommended, that would be great. Thanks in advance, ToBeMac
  2. The problem appeared to be very common with ATI 6xxx series, especially 6950/6970. I managed to boot normally after deleting ATI6000Controller from S/L/E, then used the kexts from Netkas to have full QE/CI support (with some issues still). Hope that helps someone, ToBeMac
  3. AMD HD6970 working under Lion courtesy of Netkas

Thanks for your check & reply, much appreciated. I'm waiting for someone's response regarding the same issues, but he used a different bootloader with 6950/6970 support (Chimera) and the standard Andy's package. I'll report back here whenever i get his reply. UPDATE: The other guy who used chimera has those issues too. I really hope that the next MacPros will have those cards.. Best regards, ToBeMac
  4. AMD HD6970 working under Lion courtesy of Netkas

Can you please try the following and report back? * Running Chess * Cover flow in iTunes * Is the mouse cursor movement in iTunes ok? Does it stutter or jump around or anything? * Does sleep work? Thanks in advance, ToBeMac
  5. AMD HD6970 working under Lion courtesy of Netkas

Thanks for your quick reply Andy. Oh, btw, do you guys think it's just a matter of time till those issues in iTunes, sleep..etc get fully patched or we will need to wait for 10.7.3 or something to get better support? Am just asking as i might swap my 6950 for a 6870 if things are going to take too long. PS. I'm fully prepared to test alpha/beta patches for Lion on my little hackintosh if needed. Thanks again, ToBeMac
  6. AMD HD6970 working under Lion courtesy of Netkas

Thanks a bunch for Andy and of course Netkas for the great work! I can confirm that the native package works on 10.7.1 for my Sapphire 6950 2GB reference card. Everything works fine except a few issues in iTunes and sleep isn't working. @Andy How can i revert back the changes the native package did? I have another card that i want to try. Thanks in advance, ToBeMac
  7. I have walked through Maldon's tutorial and everything went fine except that when i reboot to boot off the HDD after installation, and after the apple logo screen, i get another light grey desktop with the mouse cursor on the upper left corner and that's it, i can move the mouse and keyboard works too so it's not hanged. During boot in verbose mode, i noticed two lines indicating that login.playlist and another similar named file, can not be found, yet the boot continues till i get the light grey screen, so nothing critical happens while in verbose boot i think. Did anyone else encountered such a problem or even managed to install Lion on a sandybridge motherboard without too much headache? My desktop specs are in my sig. Thanks in advance everyone, ToBeMac
  8. Am having a similar issue as evahnyird, is that after completing installation successfully and trying to boot from HDD, and after the apple logo with the spinning wheel, i get a light grey screen with the mouse cursor at the upper left corner and that's it, it's not hanged as the keyboard and mouse still works. The specs is in my signature btw. PS. Is there any use of the Boot CD/HackBoot Lion included in the first post? I don't see it gets used in any of the procedures. Thanks in advance, ToBeMac UPDATE: The problem was in my graphics card, i had to delete ATI6000Controller.kext from S/L/E to be able to login then installed the Netkas patches.
  9. Here's the latest trunk (r635) compiled just incase someone needs it. Chameleon2_RC5_Trunk_r635.zip I also want to report that it works pretty well on my Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L motherboard, E8400 CPU, Reference Sapphire 4890. Everything works fine: C & P states generated and working properly, CPU and Mem. identified correctly including their speeds..etc Thanks a bunch for the hard work guys, keep it up!
  10. Is anyone here have the internal mic. working properly with voodoohda or a patched applehda? Mine is working but its sensitivity is extremely low that it's actually useless to use. I also have a problem with deep sleep not working, normal sleep is working fine, but whenever i put it in deep sleep, it creates the sleepimage file properly, shutdown but when i power it up i get the "Not enough space to restore the image" error msg. Am on 10.6.5, modified DSDT and Chameleon2 RC5 trunk r635 on a Dell Vostro 1400 in my sig. Thanks in advance.
  11. Am having EXACTLY the same issue on my Vostro 1400 (10.6.5 + modified DSDT) as when using the keyboard alot (including capslock of course) and suddenly KB and Trackpad stops working altogether. So, yes, it must be some bug in the VoodooPS2Controller.kext Did you make any progress regarding this problem?
  12. Check your console log for any clues related to the disconnection of the USB HD. For VoodooBattery.kext, this one is working for me under S/L/E Give it a try. VoodooBattery.kext.zip
  13. Did anyone manage to get the battery indicator to work with DSDT only? Would be cool to get rid of yet another kext
  14. Well, that's true i believe since with or without the method, i have AppleLPC load with the correct device ID: Yet the problem remains, getting the same C-State error at boot and no CSTinfo in ioreg. Maybe i have to do something in MacBook3_1.plist file in ACPI_SMC_PlatfomPlugin just like i did to change CPUPlimit to 0x0? or it's just the C-State "curse" of Dell? Yep! the new MacBook Air is so seductive
  15. Oh, looks like am not alone in that C-State error boat! Your rig is having the same "symptoms", aka. no C-States/CSTinfo? I wonder if this has something to do with the "Dell" brand after all
