  1. Great. I'm glad it works for you, too. Honestly, given the graphics card failure I had, I haven't been able to give it a ton of time. However, now that all my hardware is running perfectly, I'll take a look tonight.
  2. This is sounding like a pretty good unit. I don't have any special suggestions for a video card, but I'd look at the reviews for your Caviar Green HD (newegg or elsewhere) - I've noticed some really poor reviews. Also, I love the case you are getting. Are you having that shipped overseas, or are you already somewhere that is sold locally?
  3. Hey Awesome86, As I was hoping to use SLI at some point, versus a card upgrade, I looked around some. From what I have been able to tell, there is essentially no support for SLI on the majority (maybe all?) hackintoshes. Honestly, I would love to hear from someone if there is a way to make this work for the gtx 285 SLI, 9800GT, or any other card with Cakewalk...
  4. Update: Have this pegged as a problem with my EVGA 9800GT 1GB, presently. As I expect this was just the one card, I'm getting a replacement this week. So, I take back what I said about the .pkg Chameleon installer - it appears it was not the problem, and I will be using it in the future (as I cannot make heads or tails out of the custom install instructions I am finding all over the place).
  5. Hello - I am hoping someone can help me with a problem I am having. I am running an EX58-UD5 and got everything running perfect. Then I decided to experiment... Installing a .pkg version of Chameleon had me dual-booting with Win 7 no problem. However, soon I started to get the screen freezing up (excluding mouse) with flickering or black portions. So I wiped the OSX/boot drive clean and reinstalled OSX (SL). However, I am still getting these crashes. Would the .pkg have adjusted by bios in some way to make this happen? Is there a way around this? Or is it possible I am misdiagnosing a problem with my GPU (or another component)? Trying to update with the Combined Update, but it regularly freezes up well before I can install it. Thanks in advance for your help!
  6. Thanks all! I got my Hackintosh up and fully operational today. EX58-UD5 - updated to most recent OS without losing sound (it just changed output to headphones - easily changed back). It is supremely satisfying to see it work so well. Also, for whoever might be interested, the Rosewill USB wireless ethernet adapter in my sig worked just fine - super speeds, solid connection.
  7. Hello - this is my first time posting here. I am currently assembling my first hackintosh and will be doing the cakewalk installation onto a EX58-UD5 mobo. trwoolley and others seem to have a positive experience with this one. As I am an absolute novice to hackintoshes and building PCs in general, I am trying to make everything as simple as possible (hence my interest in the Cakewalk method). So I have a softball for the pros: Q: I want to install Win 7 after I've gone through the setup process outlined in the Cakewalk guide. This will be on a separate drive. Will I need any additional bootloaders, software, etc. in order to do this? The guides on this subject I have read may as well be in another language. Also, for anyone interested, I will be experimenting with using a Rosewill RNX-N2X wireless ethernet USB adapter in 64-bit mode. I will surely post somewhere if that works out for me. Thanks in advance!
