  1. Help! ASUS K501UX

Hey, some reason your computer is using the Mac Pro smbios. That is evidently going to cause a bunch of random issues with mobile skylake hardware. I have mine set to MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013) and it works fine.
  2. GUIDE: ASUS K501UX El Capitan

Hey guys, I've got EL Capitan working nearly perfect on my system. I am writing this up pretty fast, so please excuse any errors lol. Specs: Core i7-6500u, 8GB RAM, GTX 950M (DISABLED), HD520 First of all, this is going to be a pretty basic guide. I've attached my clover folder with all the essential kexts along with DSDT with proper edits. What works -Sleep/Wake -Trackpad (still a little buggy, specifically with sleep/wake) -keyboard as well as backlight -Wlan -sandybridge power management native -GPU acceleration HD520 -Audio with VoodooHDA To start out with I recommend changing the Wi-Fi chipset in your laptop to a broadcom m.2 variant that is supported. Also, be sure to switch SATA Mode to AHCI in Bios. Trackpad was one of the hardest things to get working due to it being an I2C device. Getting this to work required DSDT edits. There is currently a kernel extension being developed called VoodooI2C. I've compiled the latest build of this and have included it in the download. I will upload my Clover folder for you guys to use, I have applied all the necessary DSDT patches. I have not had a whole lot of luck getting Sierra to work, but if one of you figures out a way be sure and comment to let us know how. CLOVER.7z
  3. VoodooHDA - common problems

Having specific issues patching the nodes to allow for auto-detect I am patching node 24 and the config is 0x40f0011f
  4. VoodooHDA - common problems

Hey guys, I need some help patching this to work with my chipset properly. Here is the linux dump. codec.txt
  5. That makes sense.. I will post it tomorrow. I should probably mention the specs of the computer that I am using. Specs: Asus K501UX, Core i7 6500u, GTX 950 discrete (Disabled via clover nv_disable=1) Intel HD 520 integrated (stuff in config: Inject intel=true, ig-platform-id = 0x19160000; I've tried with and without these settings to no avail btw) 8GB Ram, 1080p display. Is there any chance that the nvidia optimus could be interfering with the integrated graphics. I have tried disabling it through the dsdt, but not entirely sure if it is actually disabled entirely. I was able to boot into the installer and everything without the graphics injection info, but with the same config the OS partition halts..
  6. Whenever I set it past 64mb, there is an instant kernel panic. I've tried patching the fb and still I am ending up with the same exact error.
  7. Yeah, I have had the DVMT set to 64mb in the bios. What's odd is that I can load the USB installer perfectly fine, but whilst using the same clover config, DSDT, etc, the OS partition keeps hanging when it loads the graphics kernel extensions. I assume that the installer only loads the VESA drivers, which is why I am experiencing this..
  8. I keep getting this error on the HD 520. Any advice on how to solve this?
  9. What ig-platfrom-id did you use for the HD 520?
  10. Can anyone confirm if the HD 520 is now supported?
  11. GMA X4500

Has anyone tried this? It appears that the OP is claiming to have Software QE working using a different mechanism routing graphics through the CPU.. Please inform me if it is legitimate. http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=2866&page=2
  12. Set Brightness on Startup

Thank you so much I couldn't find a way that works, but this does.
  13. GMA X4500

Who is working on getting qe/ci on this graphics card
  14. GMA X4500

Maybe it's your Video card bios or VGA out port I don't really know, but you could try removing the boot flag for the 1200X800 resolution
  15. GMA X4500

All you have to do is uninstall all of the Intel gmax4500 (3100) kexts, and install the patched chameleon for gmax4500. all credit goes to deviato (Mirror Download link) http://www.4shared.com/file/WXfLwcbG/Alecs...n_2_RC4pkg.html Alec_s_Chameleon_2_RC4.pkg.zip
