  1. As to your DVD drive problems, sounds like the exact problem I was having with my drive at first. Check here and see if that helps. It solved mine and a few other's problems.
  2. Ditto. A07 (DW10) works for me as well. Thanks again, pmcnano!!! Figures that the firmwares I tried wouldn't work.
  3. I saw your post earlier about downgrading the firmware. However, I'm finding it difficult to find a firmware version that is compatible with the TSST TS-D633A drive. I've downgraded to a few of the Dell provided firmwares, but still no solution. If you can find something on this drive for me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for the input.
  4. Thanks again, bcc9. I'm going to look into it. BTW, thanks for the great guide. It has been a great help.
  5. Thanks for the reply, bcc9. The TS-D633A is a Samsung drive, though I can't see why that would matter to the ATAPI driver. I guess I'll look at the IOAHCISerialATAPI kext and see if I can figure out something there. In the meantime, what brand is your drive? Would that be a Hitachi, by chance? Again, thanks for the reply.
  6. Is anyone else having issues with the DVD drive on startup? I've tried 10.6 - 10.6.2 and am having the same results. On startup, if there is a CD/DVD in the drive, OSX boots up fine and and I'm able to swap discs around no problem. However, if I start up OSX without a disc in the drive, the drive will not work at all in OSX. Odd thing, though, is that System Profiler hangs if I select the Disc Burning field, though the Serial-ATA tab reports the drive no problems (TS-D663A connected to a MCP79 ACHI port). Any help would be appreciated.
