  1. I tried with these kernel extensions on my Studio 1555, but they don't get me anywhere. I can get native resolution, however no QE/CI. Could someone give me any suggestions on how to enable this? I'm at my wits end here. Regards, I forgot to include the other ATI Framebuffer kexts. Silly me. Anyone got a fix for the OpenGL problem?
  2. Hello, I'm back. Here's the stuff extracted from the VBIOS rom. Any help regarding this would be welcomed. (Unfortunately I can't download Xcode due to bandwidth reasons, any lighterweight alternatives?) ATOM BIOS Rom: SubsystemVendorID: 0x1028 SubsystemID: 0x02be IOBaseAddress: 0x2000 Filename: BR32787.001 BIOS Bootup Message: BR32787-001 M92 GDDR3 64bit 500e/800m PCI ID: 1002:9553 Connector at index 0 Type [@offset 45712]: VGA (1) Encoder [@offset 45716]: INTERNAL_KLDSCP_DAC1 (0x15) i2cid [@offset 45774]: 0x95, OSX senseid: 0x6 Connector at index 1 Type [@offset 45722]: HDMI-A (11) Encoder [@offset 45726]: INTERNAL_UNIPHY (0x1e) i2cid [@offset 45797]: 0x91, OSX senseid: 0x2 Connector at index 2 Type [@offset 45732]: LVDS (7) Encoder [@offset 45736]: INTERNAL_UNIPHY2 (0x21) i2cid [@offset 45824]: 0x90, OSX senseid: 0x1 Edit: Err, I forgot to say what the problem was. How confusing of me. Basically the screen is undetected, where undetected means I can change the resolution, but there's no QE/CI. Woo!
  3. How do you retrieve the vBIOS ROM?
  4. You may find it here.
  5. Did you add the IDT kext?
  6. I have a Studio 1555 with the same graphics card as you, and all the kexts on this topic allow me to change the resolution, however I haven't got QE/CI enabled. I'll do some tinkering, see if I can get it working. (Just a heads up, by the way)
  7. I feel stupid for asking this, but I take this is on Snow Leopard, right?
  8. ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4570

You dear sir, are an angel. Thank you!

What, must all specs be confined to signatures? Here's what I have: Intel Core2 Duo CPU T6500 ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 4GB Ram 320GB HDD (and that's needed how?) Also, should I consider moving to Snow Leopard?

(By the way, my OS is 10.5.8) There's no ATIRadeonX2000 kext, which I presume is what you're on about. I tried to experiment with that, but ended up with a black screen, unsurprisingly (so I deleted it about a week ago). According to the System Profiler, RadeonHD is indeed loaded, and even when booting in -x32, the resolution won't change. Boo hoo. :< Also, there's no GraphicsEnabler in my com.apple.Boot.plist, to make sure, here's my plist: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>None</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>5</string> <key>device-properties</key> <string><% Long hex string here %></string> </dict>

I'm sorry, but I have no idea what you are on about. I initially used that topic to try to change the resolution, but to no avail. And yes, I am using the 18th December kext.
  12. ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4570

I'm sorry to ask this question, but despite my desperate attempts to get the resolution changed, I fail. Obviously, I've got the Mobility HD4570 (Studio 1555), but anything 'hackintosh' wise, I'm pretty much stuck. I tried Tohych's kext (or should I call that dong?), but I can't get native resolution. Could someone please explain to me in English - or at least, UNIX speak? Thank you, and I'd appreciate any help.
