  1. Hello, I'm back to this forum after some time ... I'm happy that with the help of this forum I got my Desktop PC 100% working with a retail Snow Leo install, zero modifications, and very few additions BUT, after months of using it on my desktop, I kinda got used to it very much and would like to install it on one of my laptops. THE PROBLEM: 1. VAIO NW120J - Everything Working Except WIFI & LAN (Intell 5100, Marvell Yukon 88E8057) 2. Asus F5RL - Everything Working Except WIFI & LAN (Atheros AR5007, Attansic L2 Ethernet) I'm using Snow Leopard RETAIL install. I DON'T MIND if it's 32bit-only. I have tried ALLOT of kexts. If anyone has gotten ANY of the abode adapters working under Snow Leopard (or Leopard... if there is no other choice), upload your kext in this thread, and post what version you are using (10.6.0, 10.6.2, 10.6.4 ?). Thanks in advance
  2. Hello Yesterday I installed iDeneb v1.6 10.5.8 on my PC: -> Core2Quad Q6600 -> MSI P43 Neo-F -> 4GB DDR2 -> 250GB SATA (AHCI-Disabled) -> Realtek Network (forgot the number- compatible by default) -> Sapphire Radeon HD 4850 512MB And I got stuck on that "Using 16384 buffer headers and 4096 cluster.. bla bla bla" line I booted up from the install USB, just so I can browse the net, and searched and searched and found a kext that fixed it!!! That's great, BUT, since that was a dual-boot just for testing, and today I wanted to install Mac OS X on the ENTIRE HDD, I formatted, installed again, got to the same error, and thought of the fact that I forgot to backup the kexts..... Same error, same boot from USB, "post a new topic" screen in safari on 1024x768 resolution... Need a working kext... please... anyone?
  3. Sapphire HD 4850 Custom Resolution?

I got it fixed! I Used SwitchResX to change the resolution, works fine now, my Desktop Hackintosh is complete!!!
  4. Sapphire HD 4850 Custom Resolution?

Tried this already bro, I does change to 1440x900, but when it gets to the desktop, it changes back to the one selected in "Displays" Try iDeneb v1.6 10.5.8 Lite You can get full resolution on that 4650, but it's not fully supported yet. I have a VAIO NW120J, got everything working with iDeneb except for the network, so make sure you check which network adapter your vaio has, and check if it's supported before trying to install.
  5. Sapphire HD 4850 Custom Resolution?

I installed my 4850 using the guide provided here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=155477 Now I see allot of resolutions in the list and all of them are working, but I need 1440x900 (19" widescreen) and I can't find it. How can I manually install this resolution?
  6. Marvell on Leopard (10.5)

    Marvell-Yukon 88E8057.... help..... anyone?
  7. Windows + VirtualBox = MAC OS

    nope, I'm using 3.1.2, running on Win7 x64
  8. Windows + VirtualBox = MAC OS

Nevermind this post, my VB messed up something. It's up now yey! Snow Leopard! Ethernet working perfectly with the cable trick + mac address change, using only DHCP and nothing else needed. I will try to update now using the instructions provided by brjones, I will post once I'm finished. Cheers!
  9. Marvell 88e8057 Kext

Ok I got some progress here! I'm using the same ethernet adapter on my sony laptop, iDeneb v1.6 I modified IONetworkingFamily.kext and changed 88E8056 ID to 88E8057 ID The network card got detected, but it says "cable unplugged" all the time Anyone has a clue?? IONetworkingFamily.kext.zip
  10. Windows + VirtualBox = MAC OS

I managed to install Snow Leo and followed instructions closely. I CAN'T boot it -.- Stuck at:
  11. Windows + VirtualBox = MAC OS

I can ping the guest, and from the guest I can ping my host network adapter. The problem is I cannot ping the router, I cannot access the router any way from the virtual machine... Don't know why...
  12. Windows + VirtualBox = MAC OS

Try this: I tried every possible combination of configuration for my network I mostly experimented with this: [Router IP] 192.168.178.1 [Windows 7 x64 Host Network Card] -> Automatic Configuration Using DHCP: IP: 192.168.178.26 Subnet: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.178.1 DNS: 192.168.178.1 [VirtualBox Configuration] Intel PRO/1000 MT Server (Bridged adapter, Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20)) [Leopard Network Configuration] -> Manual Configuration (Automatic didn't work, the network self-addressed) IP: 192.168.178.27 Subnet: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.178.1 (I tried with this, and I also tried with 192.168.178.26) DNS: 192.168.178.1 (I tried with this, and I also tried with 192.168.178.26, and I also tried with 208.67.222.222 (I use OpenDNS) ) I also tried NAT, and Windows ICS combinations, none worked....
  13. Windows + VirtualBox = MAC OS

Yes I'm using Qoopz kernel too, not using anything else, still. iDeneb recognizes my network card (the same you are using) and I can connect my virtual machine to my real network. But I cannot use the INTERNET Haven't tried to fix the Audio yet, since I'm installing Snow Leopard. For the resolution, just type "Graphics Mode"="1440x900x32" (or whatever resolution you need) at the boot screen. Then run the VM in fullscreen and you'll feel just like on a real Mac Cheers
  14. Windows + VirtualBox = MAC OS

Great post! I was looking for a way to get Snow up and running on VB for a long time... I have one question tho, here is now my internet connection goes: My PC -> Network Card -> Router -> DSL -> ISP I tried EVERYTHING and didn't succeed in having internet connecton on Leo Virtual Machine. When I install Snow Leo, will I be able to bring internet to it? And how do I configure it? Just select "bridget network" and select my real network adapter on the list? Cheers
