  1. HD 7xxx-Can we eliminate the Sleep Trick?

Having issues getting my card to load os x. I'm glad device ID's are added to both chameleon and clover I was getting garbled text and instant reboots at first, had to download clovergrower and chameleon source code to edit ati.c I used to be on 10.8.3, but now using 10.8.4 beta. In Chameleon r2191 or clover r1426 I cannot get my Powercolor AMD 7870 MYST Edition 2GB (same board as Fau7i but different card: - HD 7870 XT (Tahiti LE) - ID 679e.) to work, stuck on spinning wheel. Tried many combinations different framebuffers GraphicsEnabler/Injection=Yes/No in BIOS tried "Windows 8 Boot"/CSM=off/on, also delete csmvideodxe64 but no go also tried dual gpu no luck. in ML only safe mode works. Finally had to use my old nVidia GT 240 to get mountain lion to boot Also sapphire 7950 driver for 10.7.5 works (had to edit ATIFramebuffer.kext and add my device id) but Its very buggy, results in slow os x after sleep. I removed sleepenabler.kext now I get instant reboot. Any hints appreciated!! Regards, Ash
  2. I've got Packard Bell EasyNote TS11-HR just updated my Mac OS X 10.7 Lion to 10.7.4 and lost my ethernet using Snow Leopard 10.6 Patched Kext AppleBCM5701Ethernet.kext When I added the PCI ID 14e4,16b5 for Broadcom NetLink Gigabit Ethernet BCM57785 to the info.plist after Installing the kext and repairing permission my Ethernet Adaptor showed up in Networking in System Preferences. Really Glad, Thanks Adlan, Still going strong straight into OS X 10.8 I'm sure is not going to have any issues
  3. I have a Packard Bell EasyNote TS11HR Laptop that has HM55 Express Chipset and I'm running OS X Lion 10.7.2. I currently have trouble removing a warning from my DSDT. Here it is: - Intel ACPI Component Architecture ASL Optimizing Compiler version 20091214 [Dec 16 2009] Copyright © 2000 - 2009 Intel Corporation Supports ACPI Specification Revision 4.0 /Users/Mitesh/Library/Application Support/EvOSoftware/DSDT/DSDTFiles/dsdt.dsl 3930: Method (WM00, 3, NotSerialized) Warning 1088 - Not all control paths return a value ^ (WM00) ASL Input: /Users/Mitesh/Library/Application Support/EvOSoftware/DSDT/DSDTFiles/dsdt.dsl - 9416 lines, 342209 bytes, 3667 keywords AML Output: /Users/Mitesh/Library/Application Support/EvOSoftware/DSDT/DSDTFiles/DSDT.aml - 37530 bytes, 881 named objects, 2786 executable opcodes Compilation complete. 0 Errors, 1 Warnings, 0 Remarks, 16 Optimizations Here's The bit I have trouble with: - Method (WM00, 3, NotSerialized) { Store ("00", MTNM) If (LEqual (Arg1, 0x06)) { WMIS (Arg1, Arg2) Return (DI00) } } } } I have also attached my dsdt. 5. Dual Graphics Cards Snow Leopard

Hi Everybody, I was Having trouble getting dual graphics to work on my MSI K9N2 Diamond in 10.6.3 as it is a NForce MCP 73 motherboard. My Specs are Athlon 3000+ CPU was Phenom X4 9850 had to get rid of heatin issues. 4GB DDR2 1066MHz Geil Memory MSI K9N2 Diamond Motherboard. Apple Airport Extreme Mini PCI-E ASUS Xonar HDAV 1.3 Deluxe 2x Leadtek Nvidia 8600GTS 256MB(SLI) was ATI Radeon HD4870 but had to remove issues. I tried this method http://digitaldj.net/2009/09/02/snow-leopa...deo-cards-more/ with no success. Shortly After I read that Nvidia chipset Motherboards don't seem to like Multiple Graphics cards and EFI strings. but I was able to get into gui after spinning wheel with the help of evoenabler for some reason kept injecting my cards as ATI Radeon HD 4870 or 4890 depending on kext I was never able to get qe/cl and proper injection maybe some one can direct me to a unmodified evoenabler.kect for snow but then I tried nvenabler64.kext and got instant reboots. finally i gave the link above another try the pci roots seemed to be long and also every time i used the EFI string. I get Kenel Panic/Instant Reboot. Now I knew I had a spare motherboard a Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DS5 with my Athlon 7750 and tried to enable SLI in Windows using SLI patch 0.8 and it worked also I used the link in this post the first one.
  6. Hi mattventura, I am trying to install snow on a similar machine. Mine is a MSI K9N2 Diamond with the same chipset Nvidia 780a with AMD Phenom X4 9850 BE with 4GB DDR2 RAM. The answer is to use legacy kernel, myhack PC-EFI10.5 aserebln or chameleon rc3. install the required from a working leopard install and also use EFI studio v1.0 to find your graphics card. The problem I'm getting is once the dsmos is arrived NVEthernet is loaded and ACPI SMC is initialised it does not load further it's just stuck in the kernel output screen. Another AMD machine Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DS5 Athlon X2 7750 (K10) AM2+ 2GB DDR2 RAM is working great with nawcom kernel 10.3.0 and has snow leopard 10.6.3 all up to date. big thanks to nawcom Regards, Ash
  7. Hi, I've done alot of reading and realised the best way to apply the intel GMA950 EFI string lets say, for snow leopard is to use OSX86Tools which is old and discontinued but does apply this patch properly. 1. Download and Open OSX86Tools 2. Click Add "Add EFI Strings/Boot Flags" 3. Click "GFX Strings" opens new window 4. Choose Graphics Card: - "Intel GMA 950 (Laptop)" 5. Click "Import String to Boot Editor" New window opens 6. Click "Apply changes to com.apple.boot.plist" Now I assume you have a near vanilla snow leopard installation. therefore your probably using PC-EFI, chameleon or similar and have your kexts, themes, DSDT and real com.apple.boot.plist in /Extra. So at this point you could go to /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/ if your com.apple.boot.plist was modified properly you should see a bootbackup.plist. remove the hex key generated from here into your proper boot.plist in extra using textedit or plist editor if you have xcode tools installed here's my one: - Note!!!!!! don't go using it in your machine might not work, carry out steps above <key>device-properties</key> <string>6d0000000100000001000000610000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027 fff0400100000006d006f00640065006c0000000b000000474d41203935302000000041004100500 0 4c002c00480061007300500061006e0065006c0000000800000001000000</string> save you com.apple.boot.plist in /Extra and Reboot make sure you have vanilla kext in S/L/E and there you go snow leopard 32-bit should load on your main monitor as far as i know there is no appleintelgma950.kext that is 64-bit compatible unless somebody knows. but AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext is 64-bit so there is a chance I could get this to work with 64-bit 950 kext OSX86Tools can also be used if Quartz GL is not enabled and System Profiler shows it is supported Regards, Ash please let me know if anybody has GMA950 loading in 64-bit
