1. Weird behaviour

I'm having a weird problem, my system has been running fine for months last is until now. Last week I noticed the system running slower than normal but thought nothing of it. Last weekend I started downloading some picture and the software would freeze after 5 or so pictures and i would have force quit the program and relaunch, 5 more force quit so on and so on. Last night I tried launching firefox and it would just freeze and have to wait several minutes to even allow me to force quit it. I check the activity monitor and didn't notice any hogging the system. Now today I tried logging in and it won't. I enter my password hit enter says logging in screen goes blue for a moment then back to the login screen. I have a guest account and I'm using that and there seems to be no problems as of yet. The only idea I have is it might be a computer virus. I know its unlikely but thats my only thought. I do have iantivirus installed don't know how much protection that provides. Any suggest on what can be causing this or how to get back into my account? 10.6.8 gigabyte ep3-udp geforce 8400gt intel quad core 4Gb ram Update: rebuilt launch services and now able to get back into my admin account but programs are still crashing.
2. boot hangs at "verifying dmi pool data"

Had the same issue...reinstalled chameleon worked fine after that
3. Solved.... reinstalled Chameleon but was still getting a kernel panic. Used Kext utility to determine which kext where installed by #####. Rebuilt permissions. Everything seems to work now. Takes an extra few seconds but I can live with it. Thanks Gringo for the help
4. Its not that i don't appreciate then help, what I don't understand is if its a BIOS issue then why can I boot from #####? Sure it takes forever what it works. And if its BIOS issue why did it occur after installing #####? Oh and i tried loading from defaults as suggested, still doesn't work.
5. My hardrive is already set to first boot priority. Thats not the issue. I highly doubt its a BIOS issue since the system has been working for over a year and never had this issue till I was playinf around with the kexts.
6. I've had my system up and running for a while using kakewalk, then I upgraded to 10.6.8 and lost audio. I tried using ##### to update the kext but I must have missed something and now it freezes at verifying DMI data pool. I tried reinstalling using kakewalk, it installs but after it reboots its still stuck at verifying DMI data pool. Any suggestions?
7. After months of reading this and other threads, I decided to take the plunge and build my first hackintosh. Partly because my old computer was dying and partly because I was sick of using windows( Yes I'm a Mac virgin). So I ordered the parts, built the rig, and used mrjanek guide and CD installation. It worked Well almost: VGA output not working(need it for KVM switch) rear audio not working, the front port is won't respond when comes out of sleep Dual Boot What I know is working: Updates, no problem so far and LAN. Thats all I've had time to check. things I still have to patch/try: ps/2 patch time machine to NAS Thanks to mrjanek and to all those on this board. Great work, keep it up.
