  1. Ok, since nobody apparently knows anything about this, here's my solution: Go into IONetworkingFamily.kext and find the PlugIns folder. Replace the stock "nvenet.kext" with an nForceLAN driver, and you'll have unstable internet for a while, until it kernel panics to hell.
  2. Ok, it works, but kernel panics a lot, during the update to 10.7.3. I'll try to find an offline version of the update to install, and try then.
  3. I'm on 10.7.2, but I'll try it anyway.
  4. I recently got my nForce ethernet card to work on iATKOS L2 (I copied IONetworkingFamily.kext and nForceLAN.kext from an S3 install and patched with Kext Utility). Let me explain: before, web pages wouldn't load but in System Prefs it'd tell me that I was connected, and it even gave me my LAN IP (10.0.0.12-- but it wouldn't let me connect to the router settings site, 10.0.0.1)-- keep in mind that iATKOS L2 doesn't even advertise to have an nForce ethernet driver in the first place-- and it was really frustrating. So you can imagine how annoying it was to have the network stop working randomly (by stop working I mean it wouldn't load any web sites but it still said I was connected in System Prefs). Anyone else having the same problem? tl;dr: my nForce ethernet driver stopped connecting to the internet after a short amount of time while still telling me I was connected.

    nForce LAN driver

This is a pretty big sack of BS. My built in ethernet driver on iATKOS L2 was telling me it was connected, but no pages would load on safari. The driver on this site is improperly coded (according to Lion), and even after I tried to fix it, no dice. I finally extracted the version of nForceLAN in iATKOS S3, and it worked--- for 10 minutes, then (while still telling me it was connected), pages stopped loading.
  6. bump, I've heard that others have gotten it to work on Lion, how do I do that?

    nForce LAN doesn`t work

I can't get it to work on Lion, but it works in Snow Leopard, so I'd assume the devs would have to fix it.
  8. I recently installed iATKOS L2 on my Acer Aspire X1700, and so far everything is working well (graphics, USB, drives, etc.) except for LAN and sound (VoodooHDA was causing kernel panics, so I reinstalled with only Apple's and it failed). I have an NVIDIA nForce ethernet card, and it was supported in Snow Leo (iATKOS S3 v2), but in Lion, there appears to be an NVEthernet driver installed already, but it isn't working properly. Is this driver available? SOLUTION: Replace Apple's nvenet.kext (inside IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns) with nForceLAN.kext. It still stops working after a little while, forcing me to reboot or reload the driver, and kernel panics frequently.
  9. If you have a DVD for it, boot it and : If not, find one or using another computer, burn a windows PE CD or another recovery thing. It just needs to be vista-based (if using winPE) edit: if its gpt, you'll have issues since you don't have an EFI.
  10. Maybe disable the syslog?

    How to patch DSDT?!

Does anyone else have some more surefire method? It looks different from "IRQ (something, else, more, etc)", so I'm not sure (can you brick your DSDT xD?)

    How to patch DSDT?!

I'm a real noob to OSX86, so bear with me. I just installed iATKOS S3 v2. Everything works, except my BIOS is reset at almost every reboot. After some googling, I found out the DSDT is the cause. So I looked in mine with the help of DSDTSE (a gui utility), and I found, under RTC, this: Device (RTC0) { Name (_HID, EisaId ("PNP0B00")) Name (CRS0, ResourceTemplate () { IO (Decode16, 0x0070, // Range Minimum 0x0070, // Range Maximum 0x00, // Alignment 0x02, // Length ) IRQNoFlags () {8} }) Name (CRS1, ResourceTemplate () { IO (Decode16, 0x0070, // Range Minimum 0x0070, // Range Maximum 0x00, // Alignment 0x02, // Length ) }) Method (_CRS, 0, NotSerialized) { If (LEqual (^^HPET.NVID, 0x10DE)) { Return (CRS1) } Return (CRS0) } } What should I do? I don't know what to remove. My whole DSDT.dsl is uploaded. Please help.
  13. I just installed iATKOS S3. It worked beautifully, except for internet. I rebooted to get to windows, and I notice the fan is really loud. The POST screen comes up, and I continue the boot, and get to windows. The time says 12:00. I'm guessing the cmos is reset, and being a noob, I have no idea how to fix it. I really just need a way to make the fan quiet. Please help
  14. I have an acer aspire x1700. I successfully installed iATKOS S3 v2 (10.6.3), and everything works except for the ethernet. Device manager in windows says nForce networking controller. I had installed a driver under Drivers>Network>Wired>nForce, and this did no good. I can access the partition via windows (no idea how xD) and vice versa, so I can install a kext if need be. Please help, thanks
