Mac OS X 10.6 on P5Q with ATI HD 4850

Thanks for your reply! I have done the things above... I have rebooted normally and it stucks at the light grey screen again. Then, I've booted with '-v' and it stucks at the screen with white and black crappy blocks Finally, I've booted with '-x -v' and I can log in to the mac successfully. So, what's the problem? Thanks a lot

  5. Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and Mac! Let me introduce myself! I come from Hong Kong and I am a 15-year-old boy. I am interested in programming and installing some new softwares or operating systems Yesterday, I followed the instructions in a post and installed a new mac on my pc successfully But, I realised that I can't boot normally and I must use '-x -v' to boot. If I use '-x' only, it shows a screen with black and white crappy blocks. I checked the resolution and I found that the resolution is in '1024x768'. I found many solutions to install the kext on my mac but none of them could help me. After I installed the kext and I booted, the monitor said that the video mode is not supported and told me that to reset the screen resolution to '1680x1050@60Hz' My monitor is Philip 220WS8FS Here are my specs: MB: Asus P5Q CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 RAM: Samsung ??? 2x2GB Display card: Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4850 HDD: Seagate 500GB Can someone help me to solve this? Thanks for your help!
