  1. Unofficial Guild Wars port v.1.2.2 & 1.3.14

New version build of this game....It's free and fun so enjoy it
  2. Unreal Tournament 3 proof of concept

I know that their are other wrappers on the web for this game and I do not claim to be the first one as well.Second if people have better expirience with the wrapper you are pointing too then they are free to do so. The reason I built my own is just for fun and just to help others to run this game. And in the long run I'm going to write a step by step guide for people who want to learn how to build their own wrapper for this game as well. But nevertheless it's a good point to say that their is a cider one already....now the mass has more options to run this game
  3. Unreal Tournament 3 proof of concept

Nope im not using a Cider one, im going to use a Wineskin wrapper since that one is something I know how to use.I don't know what kind of wrapper the one uses on TPB but it seems that you already have tested it.Anyway when I'm releasing it i'll let it know on this thread. Second I'm going to need some testers in the future for those that are interested let me know about it on this threat or visit my site....Thanks in advance....
  4. Unreal Tournament 3 proof of concept

The difference is that in time that i'll be offering just the wrapper which I continue to update unlike the one on TPB which is very big in download ( 7.1GiB ) and mine will be about 150mb.With my wrapper you can import your own game files from a Windows PC and you can use your own legal cd-key. Second the port on TPB does not work for everyone if I believe what people are saying about it so therefore I'll continue this thread with future updates when I release more and more stable wrappers for this game. The most difficult thing to do is to apply patches which sometimes do work and sometimes don't.But like I said this is just a proof of concept of my wrapper...not a working one for the public.
  5. After allot of testing which of course ended up in big fail many times I finally got UT3 running on my Mac.Yes running on Mac OS X ( 10.6.3 ).Below is a video that will show that it's possible to run this game but please don't mind the bad graphics when I run this game.My Mac is old and has out-dated hardware. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpZP5I2omJ8 Anyway I hope to get out a wrapper soon so everyone can enjoy this game on OS X.When I do I'll let you know in this thread...
  6. 10 Things Linux Does Better Than Windows

At home I use all 3 of them Win, OS X and Linux. All both of them has it's own disadvantages compared to each other but when I get in discussion with someone else I just say, it all depends on your needs and what the reason is you want to do with a machine called a computer. When someone just want to play games I recommend Windows, I know many people would se it different but it's a fact that games run better on Windows atm. But if you want a very secure and fast OS to do your things or even to run it on old hardware you can use a *nix OS which I prefer as well. And personally I think Mac is something in the middle but that my opinion Anyway when it comes to decide which OS is the best it all comes down on personal preferences...
  7. Unofficial Guild Wars port v.1.2.2 & 1.3.14

Well I think there would be a way indeed but this ain't the thread to talk about it.You could start your own thread and maybe someone has already achieved it to run that game on a Mac....
  8. Unofficial Guild Wars port v.1.2.2 & 1.3.14

Your correct indeed, you have to buy the game in order to get an activation key to activate your account but afterwards you can play this game without any subscription for free.
  9. Unofficial Guild Wars port v.1.2.2 & 1.3.14

Well thanks for trying out my version and indeed Crossover uses Wine as well but they made some changes on their own.But the reason why I build my own version of Guild Wars is that now you won't have to buy software or any other programs to play this game like emulation apps and Crossover as well. Anyway on my system I can't get fullscreen to work so I had to change the setting to window mode and it's set as defualt when you are running this game for the first time. But when you fire up the game you can change the resolution to your own needs and try different settings. But just to say things up ahead it may crash from time to time when you change things allot within the options menu of the game itself and it will depend as well on what type of hardware you are running this game on. Well anyway if you have comments or bugs or what so ever feel free to post them on my blog as well on this forum....
  10. Ever wanted to play Guild Wars on your Mac without paying for other software?Well it's now possible and you only have to download my version instead. New Guild Wars port for Mac OS X v1.2.2 & 1.3.14 Fullscreen This time I have build 2 versions of this game one that has the stable version (1.2.2) of Wine and one using the cutting edge (1.3.14) version of it.This I do cause in the latest version there might be some regression with Guild Wars and might not work as good as the stable version for some others but you have that to check that out for your own.Further more this time I have not included the game files anymore so you have to copy it from your PC into the GuildWars.app file.Further details and instruction are located in the Readme.txt file that comes along with the download or on my site.Further more all older builds from me are discontinued and no longer online since the latest build is much more stable. To get your hands on the build please use the download link below...enjoy - Intel-based Mac ( sorry PPC folks ) - Mac OS 10.5 or higher - NVidia or ATI GPU ( Intel-based may work but is very slow and not tested ) - Sound card ( CoreAudio enabled by default ) - Keyboard & Mouse ( Windows type based are supported ) - Internet connection ( Firewall may prompt during first run ) To get your hands on this game please click the link below. After you have it please read the readme file first!
