1. Is this compatible?

I have an old build that I'm wanting to hackintosh. Jetway PM9MSR2 socket 478 VIA 8237R Plus chipset Intel Pentium 4 3.0Ghz XFX GeForce FX 5200 128MB AGP Samsung 128MB x2 Could you tell me if this a compatible build with Tiger, Leopard, or Snow Leopard? I'm currently trying to install Snow Leopard using the ##### Chameleon bootloader but it results in a black screen when booting verbose and just the grey Apple logo when booting from the DVD normally.

Just a tip, 10.6.5 is now available through Software Update.
3. HP Mini 311 - Support Questions/Requests PART II

I think I might try uninstalling it if it's possible.

Lately I've been noticing a few kernel panics upon startup since I downloaded and installed the Snow Leopard security patch. In fact, the boot right after the shutdown (when the install completed) resulted in a kernel panic.
5. What I suggest that you do is go to HP's website and enter your specific model and get the driver from there. Nvidia tends to create all-in-one driver packages which may cause some issues.
6. Make sure you have your ION drivers set up and you monitor is able to accept the appropriate resolution.

Upgraded to 10.6.4 and installed the HF6 RC4 and surprisingly sleep worked out of the package as well as audio. I use InsomniaX which is a program that turns off the netbook's screen when closed, but doesn't let it sleep (used as a tool for external displays). Upon enabling this, I got a kernel panic. I can live without it, but I was just wondering if anyone else uses this same tool and is experiencing my problem. Another couple of problems I noticed is that when I send my computer off to sleep, it makes a single audio popping noise. Edit: Wireless is back to normal. The second thing is that when I wake from sleep, it takes around 10 seconds to connect back to my wireless network with the Dell 1510 card. When I was running on 10.6.2 it only took around 3-4, or less. Edit: I also noticed that the right side "Option" button no longer functions as option, instead it functions as the "Command" button. I don't know if this is a BIOS issue or something else, but I figure it might be. I haven't been able to upgrade to F.15 because for a strange reason my flash drive isn't cooperating.
8. Quoted directly from Engadget: Half a year ago, you'd have been forgiven for expecting that today both Windows 7 and Mac OS X would have flagship tablets representing them, in the shape of the HP Slate and the Apple iPad. Alas, one of those devices ran away to enterprise land and the other opted for a mobile OS. It's against this backdrop of disappointment that Axon's Haptic tablet enters, with confirmation that its Atom-based innards are fully compatible with Linux, Windows and Mac operating environments. With a 10.1-inch resistive touchscreen, 320GB HDD, 2GB of RAM, and a trio of USB ports, it's another of those devices you could classify as a keyboard-less netbook, but at least its OS versatility will give it a leg up. Then again, with a pre-order price of $750 and no bundled OS licenses, we suspect it might need a little more than that to succeed where so many have failed. Source link: http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/13/axon-lo...s-has-a-deskto/ So, what do you guys think? Will this company get shut down like Psystar? Personally, I don't think they will since they aren't preinstalling OS X on the device itself.
9. Problems with my 311

You're only going to get support here with the installation process if you use a retail copy.

Amazing find, if this works for everyone this will be a huge breakthrough. I'd love to try it but I'm about to go on vacation for 5 weeks starting July 15th so I don't want to mess with anything in my system yet. I'll definitely try this when I get back though. Again, nice job finding this. I assume you're running on 10.6.4 with 2GB of ram, right?

Just woke up and saw your post Ingrid. What a great way to start my day.

I just reactivated the EFI partition and I'll reinstall Chameleon. Your idea sounds correct. Newer HF packages could have removed the older files in the EFI. Edit: Reactivated EFI and installed Chameleon again. Still only shows up when USB drives are plugged in. I think I'm going to drop this situation for a while. I'm going on vacation for 5 weeks and when I get back I think I'll work on this again. I'm considering doing a backup of my data and starting over with a fresh install.

Installed. Going to reboot without the flash drive. Edit: The Chameleon screen did not show up.

After getting this this part I'm unsure if there is a key I should hold or something else that would allow me to select a "partition". I'm pretty sure all I have to do is click on the Macintosh HD, but I'm just taking precautions.

I'm in SL right now, but I'm unsure how to install Chameleon. Could you help me out?
