  1. Xtorrent can't register serial

Is the solution to simply not use xTorrent? Much like the other users on this page, I can stand having to manage the torrent files and the various torrent sites and the BS sites that are paid top ranking sites that just try to sell their premium "fast" downloads. Search, Look for the amount of seeders, Download. This works fine on my Apple MBP but months later still will not activate on Hackintosh. I have contacted the developer, despite paying for my activation code he refuses to respond... Any solutions?
  2. Machine Turns itself off

Well I tried the FakeSMC.kext but it didn't help me with seeing my CPU temp in iStat... not really sure what else I can do. I went out and bought two new cans of compressed air and POW - blasted all the dust out of this machine. I felt like such a slob because it was so freakin dirty. Then I took time and really made sure my RAM was seated properly - and hmf! -one 2GB stick was not seated all the way! Dunno how I missed that the first time. Then I took my CPU heatsink all the way off, held up and away from my machine and blasted the sucker. The dust that came out of that thing man! I spent a good 10 minutes making sure the heat sink was properly seated and secure. Proud to report that my machine REMAINS ON and seems to be eating up this render! Oh mannnn, I am back in business!!! Thank you to everyone that helped me! I'd still definitely like to know how to get my CPU temp in my iStat... I went digging around but couldn't find a solution. I read on NetKAS that I had to uninstall dsmos.kext first... but I read in other posts that that's "Dont Steal Mac O S" and that would prevent my machine from working. Is there anywhere I should read about getting it to work? Thanks everyone!!!
  3. Machine Turns itself off

I am running iStat but I can't monitor my CPU tempurature just my HDD temp... I always thought it was a problem due to the nature of my Kernel or hardware configuration. Is there a way to hack iStat so I can monitor my CPU temp? Or any other software that can do that? (I have the most current version of iStat) I'd really love to get back to work - I've been dead in the water for the past three days and I can't even do a RAM Preview.
  4. Machine Turns itself off

Hello - it only turns off while I render. I've done a series of tests and it takes about 1min47sec before it shuts off. I can run the machine pretty well in a recreational sense but as soon as I try to do an After Effects RAM preview or a Cinema 4D Render it will simply shut off. I am able to go into BiOS and it will remain on. The machine will remain on forever as long as it doesn't have to use the processor at a high volume... can anyone pin point what the problem could be based on my tests? I'd be more than willing to try other tests. I'm actually using the machine right now for simple file management processes and web browsing. I've reseated the Ram and checked all my connections and the problem persists. I don't have Linux and that's not something I know how to use yet I'm simply running OSX 10.5.6. Thank you for your ideas. Are there any other possible causes?
  5. I've never had this problem before but I've spent almost all day perfecting this final render in Cinema 4D and about 9 hours into choosing an appropriate render my machine started behaving strangely. C4D crashed, then all of my other open apps started to crash. Firefox would not open and stay open for anything. I rebooted and things seemed to get better. When I got the machine running stable again it totally turned itself off about 30 seconds into the render. I was able to reboot every time but it crashed about :30 into any render. Even rendering out of Final Cut Pro it turned off. Yes, turned off, not crashed. I'm not sure what temperature would have to do with it since I've been using this machine since January and have had no problems like this until now. I don't even know how to diagnose it. I haven't changed or touched any of the hardware in about 4 weeks and the power has been good in this room. (and I have a UPS) Obviously this has to with the processor but I can't seem to understand how to fix that. I haven't changed a thing. Has anyone come across anything like this? Help please, thank you
  6. Kernel Panic then boot1: startupfile

Hi I tried both repairing the disk and reinstalling the Bootloader Chameleon and I get the same exact prompt. The disc takes so long to load it took me over an hour to try both methods. Is there anything else I can do? It seems that the contents of the HDD are still there (60GB) and in tact but something is not loading. Is there a way that I can uninstall then reinstall the bootloader? As another odd thing I noticed - when I installed the bootloader, the machine restarted then got another type of Kernel Panic. I remember when I first installed iPC on this machine I had to install a Kext to accommodate the restart crash. Could there be something there?
  7. Hello, I've had my iPC 10.5.6 machine up and running very smoothly since January this year but today (May 17, 2010) I got a totally unexpected Kernel Panic and now my machine will not boot. I'll go from my Motherboard diagnostic screen into this: boot0: GPT boot0: HFS+ boot0: booting boot0: done boot1: startupfile_ Then that's it. I honestly haven't touched any hardware. I've never done a system update. I was in the middle of editing and POP I got this kernel panic (attached). I've been searching frantically for someone that may have had a similar problem and there are a few but there have been no solutions. People are kind of waiting in the wings. I absolutely need to be up and running tonight and the resources are extremely limited and there aren't any that I can find. Does anyone know what I can do? I have a secondary SATA drive with the majority of my content on it but there are a few things I need to salvage from my primary drive. I would be fine with reinstalling the system but I can't afford to lose that data from my primary drive. Does anyone know how I can access the data - copy it to the secondary drive then do a reboot? Best case scenario does anyone know how I can salvage this system without having to reinstall all of my software? Thank you for your help! -Makana Sylva, Los Angeles, CA Just so you're up to speed with what I've tried: I managed to get the system to boot the original iPC disc and I repaired permissions with Disc Utility and it still wouldn't boot. I've tried unplugging my secondary drive and primary drive and no boot. I've tried Zapping the PRAM but I don't even think that works with the hackintosh. I've been searching and searching to no avail.
  8. Xtorrent can't register serial

Has anyone actually solved this? Because all I see is people scolding the guy for buying something and people suggesting he use other software. I've emailed Dave Watanabe myself and all he said was "That's impossible to answer without knowing your code. Thanks for your feedback." I replied with my serial and he went silent and I never heard from him again. (This was in February). Not really sure what to do other than go through the Better Business Bureau. Anyone have any solutions? If you want to scold me for buying, just yell at Dave yourself davew@exosci.com
  9. has anyone fixed this? -- this is the fourth video card I've tried and I'm very close to getting it to work.

hi thanks for the help, but when i installed these it broke my system - i think those were for Snow Leopard. This is going on week three of trying to get this card to work - I've spent at least 4 hours a day everyday searching for a way to make this work and I haven't found anything and no one knows how to get it to work. ATI Radeon HD 4350

I'm putting this together to be a rendering option for Final Cut Pro, Compressor and Cinema 4D. Will my card even work for these programs? I've been working on this for about 13 days by searching these forums and web and after all that, honestly I've gotten nowhere and I haven't learned anything about how to get my system to work. There are a lot of people working on machines which is great, but I tried really hard to figure this out without having to post. Thanks in advance. Let me know if I forgot to include anything. -Makana
  14. Kalyway 10.5.2

I've googled "still waiting for root device" and the solutions were pretty much inconclusive: http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=hp...f82d86320cf60e9 I've actually already enabled AHCI and it still didn't work My DVD is actually IDE -- I also have a USB CD/DVD, should I try booting from that?
  15. Kalyway 10.5.2

Hi - I'll keep this straight to the point (though I can elaborate almost endlessly) My system: MB: Asus P5E3 PRO - X48, ICH9R CPU: CPU INTEL|C2Q Q9400 2.66G 775 45N R MEM: 2Gx2|OCZ OCZ3G10664GK R HDD: 250G|WD 7K 8M SATA2 WD2500AAJS PCIe: ATI Radeon HD 4350 I've tried Kalyway 10.5.2 and got the error I've tried these after pushing F8 -v vanilla [nothing] -f and nothing has loaded. I tried using the BOOT-KABYL-BUMBY.iso with a Leopard 10.5.1 Retail disc and it would show the grey screen with the "do not enter" logo over the apple logo -- i think this might be called kernel panic. Now after two days and looking at over 100 tangental posts (and re-reading some posts 5 or 6 times) on this site I've decided to post a distress call out in the ether in hopes for a hero. Thanks so much for your help in advance and I'm sorry if I may have left something out, I'll get the necessary info up asap. -Makana
