  1. Snow Leopard on Dell Studio 1555

Hi Guys, Thanks for the guide! i was successful installing this on my studio 1555 laptop to the same or very similar spec as the guide laptop thought id note a few things. i installed the laptop drivers for voodo battery & power etc also the boadcom fix driver got my wireless working (my wireless i believe is the dell wireless card) also the sound worked straight from install using the voodoo HDA 2.7 version (bottom of the list) and for the graphics rather than using terminal i just copy and pasted the boot into my OS X installation Drive i used this guide for that http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofiversi...hp/t254906.html erm just a couple of questions was there a fix for the green apple thats sort of annoying ? did anybody manage to update to 10.6.8? ive seen graphics kexts for it whilse surfing around and finally is there anyway to get the multitouch gestures working? is that by using the voodo ps/2 drivers? Thanks again for this!

  5. arhhh thanks! very much that answers alot of my questions! i cannot thank you enought as for the dsdt ive just been reading about that but theres just alot to take onboard and wounderd if u could answer a question for me? theres a patcher for it that u can download seems pretty simple just select the drive your installing or have mac os x installed to then just click darwin/macosx and away we go but there seems to be people saying its more complicated than that is that true? another thing i am using a distro am searching round for one now have about 4 on my side now i think theres an option in the install to jsut click patch dsdt would this have the same effect as doing it manually? sorry if the questions seem silly but i am a massive n00b if u cant tell
  6. okay so ive done a bit of searching around and ive come up with this. now unfortunatly i dont actually have my new laptop yet its estimated delivery date is the 14th of january! >.> but that gives me time to do abit of research so far as an idea without actually trying them ive come u with this (which is just a shot in the dark) Bootloader: Chameleon v2 chipset: not really sure maybe intel ICHx SATA Drivers? Other Drivers: Just Sata Patch, NTFS3G kernel: i think is vanilla Sound: Audio HP_DV5_IDT_V2 wireless: AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext with Dev ID inserted Usb: usb patched Power: Voodoo Battery - Sleep Enabler - FakeSMC Trackpad + keypad: VoodooPS2 Controller with VoodooPS2Trackpad also placed into /S/L/E (dont really understand that yet) Graphics: ive heard is not supported but have seen two ways of perhaps doing it first being: Graphics Enabler and Dev ID inserted into ATIRadeonX2000.kext and ATI4500Controller.kext second being: i've forgotten ill search round so far thats what ive got as an idea any input would be greatly apreciated thanks oh and if this is now in the wrong forum please let me know and ill move it i dont really know were to put it thanks! EDIT: forgot to mention im not sure what DEV ID is if anybody could explain that would be brilliant i think it could be device id? not sure what it means by that tho thanks
