  1. I will take a look at my configuration tomorrow and will come back zu to. Nevertheless, the RadeonHD way is not really practicable. My laptop gets quite hot a the fan is much louder than under windows. It seems is has something to do with the graphics driver... Our aim should be to get the mobility 4650 running with the native drivers (and a hex-patched framebuffer) with QE/CI. Kind regards
  2. Hello, what can I do if the video bios dump does not show an i2cid value for the LVDS connector? I have a mobility radeon 4650 in my laptop. Here is the dump: ATOM BIOS Rom: SubsystemVendorID: 0x104d SubsystemID: 0x9035 IOBaseAddress: 0xd000 Filename: BR34169.001 BIOS Bootup Message: Sony_M764_M96M2LP_gDDR3 M96 GDDR3 128bit 450e/600m PCI ID: 1002:9480 Connector at index 0 Type [@offset 46098]: LVDS (7) Encoder [@offset 46102]: INTERNAL_UNIPHY2 (0x21) Connector at index 1 Type [@offset 46108]: VGA (1) Encoder [@offset 46112]: INTERNAL_KLDSCP_DAC1 (0x15) i2cid [@offset 46179]: 0x90, OSX senseid: 0x1 Connector at index 2 Type [@offset 46118]: HDMI-A (11) Encoder [@offset 46122]: INTERNAL_UNIPHY (0x1e) i2cid [@offset 46202]: 0x94, OSX senseid: 0x5 Any ideas? 4. On my Sony FW54M (having a mobility radeon 4650 inside), the RadeonHD.kext is working, giving me full resolution but no QE/CI. As I read in other threads, I would need to patch my framebuffer to get QE/CI. For this, I need to extract the i2cid values from the VRAM bios dump. The problem is, the LVDS connector does not have a i2cid value: ATOM BIOS Rom: SubsystemVendorID: 0x104d SubsystemID: 0x9035 IOBaseAddress: 0xd000 Filename: BR34169.001 BIOS Bootup Message: Sony_M764_M96M2LP_gDDR3 M96 GDDR3 128bit 450e/600m PCI ID: 1002:9480 Connector at index 0 Type [@offset 46098]: LVDS (7) Encoder [@offset 46102]: INTERNAL_UNIPHY2 (0x21) Connector at index 1 Type [@offset 46108]: VGA (1) Encoder [@offset 46112]: INTERNAL_KLDSCP_DAC1 (0x15) i2cid [@offset 46179]: 0x90, OSX senseid: 0x1 Connector at index 2 Type [@offset 46118]: HDMI-A (11) Encoder [@offset 46122]: INTERNAL_UNIPHY (0x1e) i2cid [@offset 46202]: 0x94, OSX senseid: 0x5 do you have an idea how to solve this? Kind regards and thanks in advance
  5. I have the same problem as others have: I have an Sony laptop, VGN FW54M, and the dump of my video bios does not show a i2cid for the LVDS monitor. What can I do to calculate the values to patch the framebuffer? Kind Regards

Hi 1aquila1, thank you for your AppleHDA, moved it to Extras/Extensions and got it to work. For wifi to work, I taped pin 20 of the wifi card. So no news on this side, sorry. Regards SliderSD

Hi HNO3, thank you for your advice! I will compare the extra folder from backup to the current directory. Did you already manage to get QE/CI on 10.6.4 or newer? Regards

Lenovo Ideapad S12 Ion Development Thread

Hello again, I googled around to find a solution and found this: http://www.meklort.com/?p=262 I used the NetbookInstaller from this page (it seems to be 0.8.4 with some fixes for 10.6.4). After that, I restarted the S12 and QE/CI is now working on 10.6.4 ! But I now have the problem that the netbook goes to sleep and awakes about every 5 seconds. Do you have a suggestion how to solve this? Thanks in advance SliderSD

Hi guys, first, thank you for all your work and information you posted here. did you manage to get full screen resolution and qe/ci for 10.6.4? I need 10.6.4 because an application depends on this version. Currently, I did the following: 1. Install SL 10.6.0, modified by current Netbootmaker 2. Updated to SL 10.6.4 3. Removed NVEnabler, updated mkext files with UpdateExtra 4. Set GraphicsEnabler to No in /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist 5. Copied dsdt.aml and smbios.plist to /Extra, removed the old 1201 aml Can anybody help? Big thanks in advance! SliderSD
  12. Hello, I successfully installed Snow Leopard on my Asus P7P55D using this guide: http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2009/12/ins...ectly-from.html With this guide, Snow Leopard runs with the 64Bit kernel (i think). Everything is working so far, also sound, ethernet and graphics. But I still have one problem: When I connect my iPhone, iTunes does not recognize it at all. The iPhone is listed as an usb device in the system profiler, but iTunes does not show it. When I connect the iPhone, I get error messages in the console that IOKit6.0.kext (a PlugIn in System.kext) does not fit to the kernel architecture x64 and thus cannot be loaded. Does that mean, IOKit6.0.kext is 32Bit? Directly after connecting the iphone, i get the following console output: Dec 20 16:51:51 com.apple.kextd[10]: Can't load /System/Library/Extensions/System.kext/PlugIns/IOKit6.0.kext - no code for running kernel's architecture. Dec 20 16:51:51 com.apple.kextd[10]: Failed to load /System/Library/Extensions/System.kext/PlugIns/IOKit6.0.kext - (libkern/kext) requested architecture/executable not found. Dec 20 16:51:51 com.apple.kextd[10]: Load com.apple.kernel.iokit failed; removing personalities. A few minutes later these entries: Dec 20 16:56:33 com.apple.kextcache[160]: /System/Library/Extensions/System.kext/PlugIns/IOKit6.0.kext doesn't support architecture x86_64; omitting from prelinked kernel. Dec 20 16:56:33 com.apple.kextcache[160]: /System/Library/Extensions/JMicronATA.kext doesn't support architecture x86_64; omitting from prelinked kernel. And when I unplug the iphone, these lines: Dec 20 17:14:44 com.apple.usbmuxd[27]: GetConfiguration failed: 0xe00002ed Dec 20 17:14:44 com.apple.usbmuxd[27]: MuxClearPipeStall Can't clear pipe stall 2. Perhaps somebody has/had the same problem, or somebody can give me a hint how to solve this? Thanks in advance!
