    Notebook Kaufberatung

LG, Bene

    Notebook buying advice

Hey there, I'm planning to buy a new notebook. Actually I wanted to buy a MacBook Pro, cause it's design and hardware are interesting for me, but the only problem is the price. So I want to buy a "normal" notebook and turn it into a hackintosh (Vanilla if possible), which I need a 100% compatible notebook for. The specifications should look like this: CPU: Intel Core i7 RAM: At least 4GB, 6-8 preferred GPU: Similar to the MacBook pro, something like the nVidia GT 330m, alternatively a Radeon from the 58xx or 59xx series Wireless and LAN should be working, as well as sound and FireWire Screen: 16"-17" Manufacturer actually equal, but I'd prefer Dell I'm thinking about the Vostro 3700 but in a review it was said that there might be a problem with the processing of realtime applications, e.g. external sound cards what's exactly what I'd need. If I had to replace the wireless card, which card could I replace it with? And would the multi-touch of the trackpad work? And is there a How-to for installing Mac OS X on this notebook? Thanks in advance for your answer, Bene
  3. Hello Mitalca, thank you for your answer. In the meantime I managed to turn down the fan speed of my 5850 to an at least bearable level by disabling GraphicsEnabler and using an EFI-String. But the 5850's fan still runs on a level I can't bear when editing music. Is there any possibility to set the fan speed of the 5850 to zero when booting into my hackintosh? I'm always using the GT220 as init gfx in BIOS when booting into Mac, so the Mobo won't connect to the 5850 and it's fan keeps running on the same level as it runs, when I turn on the computer. And if I left the 5850 set as init gfx, I'd get a kernel panic. Greetings, Bene
  4. It just won't work that way with my mobo. Cause if add my Radeon 5850 (of course for Windows gaming) to my Nvidia GT 220 (Mac compatible), the fan cools like gone bananas, equal in which PCI-slot I put it. Please help me. Greetings, Bene

    Universal Installation Guide

I'm sorry, but obviously there's been a problem with my internet connection so I posted this topic twice. Please delete one of them.
  6. Hello! I hope that there isn't already a topic answering my question existing, but I searched many forums and googled a whole lot of time but I couldnt get an answer to this question: Is there a universal installation guide how to install Mac OS X on a PC? Not a particular PC but in general on a PC, that wasn't dedicated to become a Hackintosh. Thanks in advance for your answers. Benedikt
