  1. I'm going to buy a new laptop soon. Now I need your opinion about these two candidates, which one would be better and will OSX work in both? Acer got HD5650 and Asus 310M. Acer should be a bit faster and I even would be able to play with Acer. I am probably going to use dual boot W7Pro + SL. There should not be any problems? http://laptops-specs.blogspot.com/2010/09/...ifications.html http://laptops-specs.blogspot.com/2010/09/...-timelinex.html (this link is 4820 but 3820 got same specs with 13,3") -samp0
  2. Sry that grub.cfg was old one where my custom entries were missing. I edited my earlier post with my current grub.cfg. Like you can see I got several different entries but none is working. Maybe the problem is in my partition table(hd2 is gpt) or in something else which I don't get...
  3. Hi, I have tried to read this topic and find a solution to my problem with with grub2 multiboot. I currently have 3 hdd and 3 operating systems: win7, ubuntu 9.10 x64 and osx. Actually I got 4 os because I got both Snow Leopard and Leopard through Chameleon R4 bootloader. SL is vanilla version with right E/E and S/L/E installed after iAtkos7 Leopard. Here my fdisk -l list where you can see what hdd's I got. Disk /dev/sda: 500.1 GB, 500107862016 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 60801 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Disk identifier: 0x7c155af2 Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sda1 * 1 13 102400 7 HPFS/NTFS Partition 1 does not end on cylinder boundary. /dev/sda2 13 6494 52058112 7 HPFS/NTFS /dev/sda3 6494 12996 52224000 7 HPFS/NTFS /dev/sda4 12996 60802 383998976 7 HPFS/NTFS Disk /dev/sdb: 250.1 GB, 250059350016 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 30401 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Disk identifier: 0x000baf86 Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sdb1 9135 30402 170825319 af HFS / HFS+ /dev/sdb2 * 1 8892 71418880 83 Linux /dev/sdb3 8892 9135 1951744+ 5 Extended /dev/sdb5 8892 9135 1951744 82 Linux swap / Solaris Partition table entries are not in disk order WARNING: GPT (GUID Partition Table) detected on '/dev/sdc'! In second disk sdb/hd1 I got Timemachine BU-disk (sdb1) and Ubuntu (sdb2) and swap. Third disk sdc/hd2 got SnowLeopard 10.6.3 (sdc2) and Leopard (sdc3). I can boot to Win7 and Ubuntu through grub easily but not to osx. If I change that sdc/hd2 as first boot disk I am able to boot up Win7 and both of osx through Chameleon bootloader. Now I want to get my grub to work as only bootloader because it seems to be "the easiest" way to get multiboot work. Chameleon is not an option because sleep ain't working with win7 when I start it through Chameleon. Here is my /boot/grub/grub.cfg and like you can see it is generated automatically. I tried to add couple osx entries manually without success. # # DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE # # It is automatically generated by /usr/sbin/grub-mkconfig using templates # from /etc/grub.d and settings from /etc/default/grub # ### BEGIN /etc/grub.d/00_header ### if [ -s /boot/grub/grubenv ]; 4. I noticed that it won't work with all mobos I got P5Q Deluxe and tried to restore that kext from 10.6.2 installation inside win7+vmware. Had to connect mouse cord somewhere its easy to reconnect after sleep...
  5. Thank you about this answer. I got audio working but how I actually can restore that IOUSBHIDDriver.kext?
  6. Hi, Is it possible to get Iweb 09 to work in SnowLeopard running on WS7? I made some searches and there was many mention s about QE/CI needed to get iWeb work. From some post I found that iWeb 08 should work with defaults.plist edit but same trick won't work with 09 version. So is there any solutions to get it work inside WS7? Or should I try older 08 version? Now I can open iWeb but there is only blank grey page... -samp0
  7. I have made some tests with my VT-x problem and it is definitely caused by computer sleep mode. Every time when I set my computer to sleep or it goes to sleep after some time - I am not able to start SnowLeopard guest after. This must be some sort of bios problem with my IP35 mobo because I can't believe that Windows is causing this. When I face this problem I had to make cold boot every time and VT-x problem is gone after that... This is annoying problem for me because I normally don't power off my computer ever - just set to sleep. I am not sure if there is some bios settings that could fix this problem. Maybe I should try default bios settings first. And yes I have latest bios version installed to mobo. -samp0
  8. Thanks for fast reply. I already found those drivers from earlier posts and next I will try install them. Power saving settings are off already. Need to change those lines back to vmx. I did those changes when I installed but update changed back to defaults? -samp0
  9. Hi all, First huge thanks to Donk! Impressive work. I am totally newbie with Mac and OSX and just managed to install SL in WS7+W7Pro with instructions found from here after little struggle with wrong darwin.iso first... It took pretty long to read all posts so far and try to learn. But now I think I got pretty good idea about this case. Only thing to do is to learn to use SL now I had also this VT-x problem at first but that "cold boot" helped me for that. I have noticed this problem before with Ubuntu64bit but could not fix it then. Now I know that fix is cold boot when VM begins to mess up. I am not sure yet is that VT-x problem coming after I set my Windows to sleep and wake it up or is problem coming from somewhere else? Its my guess causing this problem... I also had to convert SL.dmg to SL.iso. I did it with UltraISO - excellent program! Can handle converting, virtual disk(s), etc. Computer specs: Abit IP35-e, Q6600@3GHz, 8G ram, HD4870 Windows 7Pro, VMWare WS 7 .vmx attached (if there is something to improve pls let me know!) btw. Just finished all available updates and everything seems to work still -samp0 osx.txt
