1. Hey guys, Haven't been around in a bit, got a new SSD so I can have an extra HDD to update my M1330 (T8100, nVidia graphics, Broadcom 4321) from Mavericks to Yosemite. Going to attempt the Clover method, since I want to play nice with Windows 7 (also attempting a dual-boot as well). Will post updates hopefully today/tonight on progress. *EDIT 1* Followed fusion71au's guide HERE and got to install screen and installing over my existing install, more updates to come. *EDIT 2* Working great, just need the battery manager. I need to update my VoodooAudio to 2.8.6 as well. Clover takes a bit longer to start up then Chameleon.
2. Testing this guy out before bed, and it looks like it helps with temps a couple degrees (was idling around 54 and now easily around 50-51) but the huge change is a 50% reduction in fan speed, was going near full blast and now it's MUCH more tolerable, so I'd say it's a WIN for this DSDT M1330 users. Only thing let is to find the 4321 Wifi module I bought a while to install so I can get some wireless N on this bad boy and I'm good on this Mavericks/M1330 install, maybe will hold out another year or until I grab one of those sexy new Retina 13" MBP's, 9 hour battery life is too good to pass up
3. I'll give it a whirl later tonight, very excited and thanks for doing it for us, and so very quickly!!
4. Hey guys, Successful update to 10.9 here on my M1330 from 10.8.5, however I'm getting the same high freq fan/temp issues on my system since 10.8.5 as well (CPU idling much higher around 55-56 and was at 80! before). Unfortunately I don't have a M1530 like you guys so I don't have a new DSDT to help me out. I'm a little confused on making the DSDT (it's been a while since I played with it), can you make the same edits to the latest M1330 (DSDT_M1330_NVIDIA_ANYCPU_20120929.zip ) from Immo? I used the same kexts as you guys did in the last 2 pages for Mavericks, great job guys and thanks for all the good work! Ask away if you guys have questions from a M1330 user!
5. Just want to say you guys rock, finally updated to 10.8.2 from 10.6.8, and used immo's guide, DarwinX's posted kexts and everything's so smooth
6. I think if we were able to fix our DSDT's from the Gigabyte P35 thread there might be hope since they were able to do it. However I'm not good enough to figure all that out. I'm just happy we can shutdown/restart properly unlike my M1330 which can't do that.
7. Use the ANYCPU DSDT for the M1530 in the DSDT thread http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=190780 for the shutdown/restart fix for your M1530, too bad there's none for M1330's :-(
8. 1. Thanks for the solution, sleep/resume work great right now. How much power does stanby on RAM sip on your experience? 1a) In the same post (#542) you mention a boot string for com.apple.Boot.plist for chameleon <key>SystemType</key> <string>2</string> Should I insert that into mine? 2. It's too bad the DS3 fixes don't work for us, it would be great to have shutdown, it would make our laptops perfect. 3. Good idea on the Macbook Air dongle, I should ebay some, see how much they run, could be useful in the future. Thanks for your quick reply!
9. Hey guys, back after posting more than 10 posts due to the spam restrictions on the boards ATM. I followed this tutorial (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=199832) and was able to boot using USB with a retail DVD image and chameleon installed. Thanks for the suggestions above, I figured that if I use a retail disk + Superhai's/other kexts I've found I'll know what I have install to boot. As well with the USB key I was able to switch out kexts without destroying the Snow Leopard install or putting the HD into another mac. I'm using the DSDT file for ANYCPU from the M1330 DSDT thread (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=t190780) and have the following files in Extra/Extensions: AppleACPIBatteryManager.kext AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext ApplePS2Controller.kext fakesmc.kext This the copy of the com.apple.Boot.plist, took it from the M1330 DSDT thread as without it I didn't have speedstep <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Boot Graphics</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Default Partition</key> <string>hd(0,2)</string> <key>DropSSDT</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GenerateCStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GeneratePStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1280x800x32</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string></string> <key>Quiet Boot</key> <string>No</string> <key>SMBIOSdefaults</key> <string>No</string> <key>Theme</key> <string>Default</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>1</string> </dict> </plist> I've been able to use the combo update to 10.6.6 and install it without problems. Just some issues still: 1. I'm not able to resume from Sleep, as I didn't think I needed sleepenabler with the ANYCPU DSDT file. Should I use that file? Is it worth creating a specific DSDT for my CPU (T8100) 2. Anyone have a fix for the Shutdown issue with Nvidia boards? 3. Any progress on the Ethernet? Thanks
10. MSI P35 Neo-F

I've never had sleep on my P35 based board (Abit IP35-E). I think there's some people who got sleep on a Gigabyte DS3 (P35 chipset as well) but I think you need to modify your DSDT. Maybe there's some others with your board who've done it?
11. iATKOS v3

It seems like the ATI driver that you're using in that install isn't working, maybe try another bootdisk or install another Kext in Extra/Extensions?
12. [Guide] Zotac H55ITX-C-E Retail Near Perfect

Nice guide, I've never used ##### but used ##### to install the latest chameleon on my M1330, worked well enough
13. Installing OSX SL from genuine DVD

You can also search for your motherboard / chipset and see if there's any install guides so that you get the necessary kexts + chameleon on a USB key so that you boot to the USB stick to load the kexts and etc
14. Kalyway 10.5.2 wants to update to 10.5.8

There's Kalyway 10.5.7 or iAtkos boot CD's that have 10.5.8 I think floating around. It's tough updating from a boot CD if you don't know where/what Kexts (Drivers for OS X) are installed since you don't know if the combo update will overwrite your kexts
15. Hey everyone, I just put back together my M1330 and was wondering what's the best current way to install it using only the USB drive, since the slot-loading drive on my M1330 went kaput. I'm trying to build a 64-bit SL that's using Vanilla kernel and updatable using combo updates (even if I have to remove VoodooHDA after each update). I saw that I could expand the iATKOS S3v2 DVD onto my USB drive here (http://uphuck.ggrn.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=12363) as someone else installed it so it should work. Any other ideas? (I have a Retail 10.6.0 OSX DMG that I can expand onto my flash drive, would doing that, then installing Chameleon RC5 onto it work?) What kexts are you guys using? The ones from superHAI here (http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=561) I see that he has 5 versions, do they all have the same kexts but different bootloaders? Thanks for all the help!
