  1. Hi, i know that you cant get full switchable optimus graphics working on mac os x, but is it possible to install and use nvidia graphics only ? My laptop has core i7 u4510, intel hd4400 (haswell) + nvidia geforce 840m. Also, my laptop doesnt have any options in bios to disable intel graphics.

[GUIDE] 1st Generation Intel HD Graphics QE/CI

So, if i want to use my intel hd graphics with yosemite, i have to patch my own framebuffer kext, right ? And do i still need then those other kexts from 10.8.5 or 10.9.x, if i will patch my own framebuffer kext ? I mean, are there any changes made to other kexts than framebuffer, or i can just use all the default kexts, that comes with 10.10, and just patch framebuffer myself ? And will that intel hd patcher work with 10.10 kexts ? it says that it works mavericks, but i wonder if it will work with 10.10 too. btw, you can check your display connector type in windows too, just right click on desktop -> graphics properties -> options and support -> information center -> select buid-in display (at top) -> connector type (mine shows lvds). Update : I tried patching framebuffer, but i got error, tha it couldnt patch with singlelink, but duallink worked and patch completed. Then i tried to patch dsdt so i wouldnt need natit kext, did everything as first post said, but at the end i got error "code 4064 object does not exist", and the line number pointed to variable Local0, which is right after "Hacks are put in here". Long story short, osx just froze in the progress, and i havent tested neither of my patched things, and now i cant even boot. Not to mention, that this whole patching took some time, because in beta versions of osx even generic video drivers are broken, and instead of 64 mb of vram, that full versions of osx has, developer version shows only 3 mb of vram, and because of that all animations and actions goes really slow, like in matrix.
  3. Hey, maybe its not the best place to ask such question, but its worth a try. I want to give a try and create mac os x 10.10 / 10.9 theme for ubuntu linux, and i was wondering what kind of theme information it is possible to get from osx ? Like, menu bar - it looks like in 10.10 it consists of only one color, i can just sample it, but what about its transparency ? Is it possible to get the exact information(formulas, etc.) about that ? How much of source code there is in mac - icons, configuration files with parameters ?

[GUIDE] 1st Generation Intel HD Graphics QE/CI

What about integrating these kexts into my usb flash drive installer ? Lets say, that i picked right combination of kexts / framebuffer, that works for my laptop, then if i would copy these new kexts and replace the old ones in osx setup in system/library/extensions, then my intel graphics should work from the very beginning, right ? I mean, now the installer runs at 1024x768 without intel drivers with laggy animations and so on, so if kexts integration into setup would work, then i should get good graphics and native resolution at setup too ?

But your top bar isnt transparent, did you disable transparency, or qe/ci doesnt work ?
  6. Hello, just got some free time, and decided to try 10.10 on my laptop. Last time i used hackintosh it was 10.6.8, so hoping for some improvements Adding my system info file from System Info mac compatibility program. From what i have read till now, it looks like my laptop works just fine with 10.9, but i will give a try for 10.10, and if it wont work, maybe i will try 10.9 later. So, some advices would be great. Lets start with iso file - should i use vanilla installer or modified by someone ? I see many people are using clover bootloader, should i use it too ? Dont need much from it, just a proper dual boot with win7. Then goes graphics, as i saw in http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/286092-guide-1st-generation-intel-hd-graphics-qeci/ and http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.9.2/Portables , my first gen intel graphics has lvds display connector and works fine in 10.9, how about 10.10, anyone tried it ? Then i think about power management - actually i dont need it, making my laptop to run at max speed is fine for me. Thats about it for now, if i would be able to make these things work properly, then i would look into other things.

    Heaven OpenGL benchmarks DP6

And mac still sucks You cant play old games like diablo 2 and others, whereas in windows8/8.1 you still can play many old games, and windows has many many many times more games Thats the real deal in this windows vs mac fight, rather than +- a few fps in some benchmarks, who cares about it, if you cant play games you want - playing with wine and similiar programs doesnt count here as mac games. Just dont take it personally, lol.
  9. Great Does it work with Snow Leopard kernel ?
  10. Yeah, at this speed i will wait for 10.7.99
