    Flash Player causes lag?

Hey there everyone, I hope I'm posting this in the right place. So pretty much, my problem is that Flash player or any other graphics intensive "thing" (such as OpenGL games, like SecondLife) causes my machine to lag. If I switch to a different window, there is a lot of lag when I type into iChat or anything else. Minimizing helps fix the problem, but isn't really a great solution for me. Here's my setup: OS X Lion 10.7.2 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM Gigabyte H55M-S2V mobo VoodooHD Audio (installed with ######) Nvidia GT520 using Graphics Enabler in Chameleon Dual monitors (DVI and VGA) Any ideas what to do? Thanks!
  2. Hello, I've spent the past 6 hours modifying kexts and so on to get my Cisco AIR-CB21AG-A-K9 PC Card to work. I was wondering if someone had any ideas that I haven't tried. Here's the computer I am dealing with: IBM ThinkPad T30 Intel Pentium 4 256MB RAM ATI 7500 Mobility JaS OSx86 10.4.8 Installation Now, don't get me wrong. For the age of this machine, 10.4.8 is a great choice in my opinion. Everything is working (including QE), except for the WiFi card. I've been modifying the IO80211Family kext for the most part, as it contains AirPortAtheros5424.kext. I've added the following under "IONameMatch" in "/System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AirPortAtheros5424.kext/Contents/Info.plist": <string>pci161,13</string> <string>pci168c,cb21</string> I also changed the device location from en0 to en1 in "/Library/SystemConfiguration/networkinterfaces.plist" (as well as the integer from 0 to 1) so the device wouldn't get mistaken as my onboard LAN. I also have "IOPCCardFamily.kext" and "IOPCIFamily.kext" loaded. Now, upon reboot (and after repairing permissions on the volume), the system detects the device. It alerts me that a new AirPort device has been found, la da da. So when I go to configure it (click on the WiFi icon on the system bar), the whole machine freezes. It appears to only do this when it searches for networks, as it did that when I tried selecting a network in System Prefrences. Any ideas what to do here? I'm trying to avoid buying anything (easy solution) to resolve this. I am thinking maybe downgrading to version 1.0 of this kext (I'm using 1.2, according to System Profiler) from 10.4.5 (This is when Atheros was officially supported, correct?) may help, but I have no copy of that specific kext and can't seem to find one. Sorry for the bad grammar... it's 4:19AM over here and I'm tired! Many thanks!

    "window streaking" problem

Haha, nice joke with the Windex. As for the Chameleon Graphics Enabler, how would I install that and so on? I'm somewhat new to all of this. I only used NVinject because it was an installation option in iDeneb. Thanks!

    "window streaking" problem

Hi there, I'm really not sure how to describe my problem. I am on 10.5.5 (Yeah, I know. Old. I'm on old hardware ). So I got everything installed, and everything looks good. I boot up the system for the first time, and Quartz Extreme is enabled! Thats wonderful to me. So I open a finder window, move it... and then it "streaks" everywhere. I have attatched a picture. Here's my specs: IBM ThinkCentre 8416-KUG (Old) DVD-ROM drive BFG nVidia 8400 GS PCI 512MB DDR2 Device ID: 0x06e4 Revision ID: 0x00a1 (Using VGA) Leopard 10.5.5 iDeneb with NVinject 0.2.1 HP S2031 Monitor Pentium 4 Processor (DIdn't think it would work, but it did!) AC97 Audio When I boot with integrated graphics, I don't have this problem. The problem with that is, there are no kexts for it. I am running an extremely old integrated GPU that isn't even supported. I also don't have this problem booting with -x on the boot prompt. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  6. Hello there, I am attempting to install iAKTOS S3 V2 (10.6.3) on my machine. It has a GA-H55M-S2V motherboard, with a Intel i5-650 CPU, and it fails to boot. I have tried poking around for any information... but nothing works. It appears to reboot the system when it is about to boot into Darwin. I have tried the following with no success: -v -busratio=20 -x -arch=i386 I have set AHCI in CMOS, but that only made things worse. Windows was unable to boot, and it would refuse to boot from the DVD while that was enabled... so I am back to the IDE setting. Is there anything that I can possibly do? Thank you
  7. Hello there, I am sorry if this has been previously asked... but I am curious if it is possible to install OS X to another partition on my disk. I currently have Windows 7 x64 installed in one partition... but, I want to install 10.6.x onto my machine. Would it be possible to do this without loosing the option to boot into OS X or Windows? Thanks!

    Darwin wont load?

Hello everyone, I ran into a problem with installing Kalyway 10.5.2 on my HP DV6. I don't know why it wont load... I mean, it will load up on my DV6-1355DX. This is the specs of the macine I am trying to install it on... HP DV6 Specs What happens is I put the DVD in. When I put the DVD in and I select it to boot in the BIOS, it just sits there with a blinking cursor for about 2-4 minutes, then it just goes to my Windows 7 boot loader. Very very rarely it will come up with this after 1 minute, but nothing happens after it. it basicly sits there and stalls. Like I said, this happens VERY rarely. I burnt the OS to about 4 DVDs, and they just dont work. that error only occours when I put in a freshly burnt DVD-R. But after the 1st use of a DVD, it never comes up with that. P.S. I don't know how many 0's are in that error. But, thats basicly what it looks like. -Curt

OS X Hardware? Any drivers available?

Hmm, well I will need to see on the sound. Does anybody have an idea on how I can force OS X to operate in a higher resolution? It's stuck on the VESA Default (1024x768).

OS X Hardware? Any drivers available?

Ok, apparently the first one did work. However, it will not play out of my laptops speakers, only the headphone jack. Is this a known problem and can be corrected or what? lol Thanks for the support guys

OS X Hardware? Any drivers available?

Ok I am currently on OS X. I got Internet working just fine, however, I still cant configure the sound. I installed the files provided, but no sound icon popped up on the top panel. Are there any others that may work? Thanks

    Install hanging

AFAIK, it will not install onto virtual drives. After it gets passed the Darwin menu and starts loading the kernel, it will crash saying that there was a fatal processor error and the virtual machine must reset. Maybe not the case with VMWare, but just from my experiance. It may be hanging because of a incorrect partition format. What format did you make it? FAT (MSDOS)? If thats the case, you want to restart the install and partition the drive as Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Did you also customize the install? That was my first big mistake that caused a bad install of OS X.

OS X Hardware? Any drivers available?

No, I do not. It's running nativly. I have a flashdrive but OS X wont reconize it's presence. Maybe once I get enough files for OS X, I will just put them on a CD. I dont exactly know what to do about my internet adapters. Heres some info on them. Any of this usable? EDIT: I popped in another harddrive with XP into the machine, the wireless card's series is BCM43XX (According to Windows Computer Management). So what can I do now? Can somebody please provide a Broadcom BCM43XX (Wireless) compatible driver for Mac OS X 10.5.6? Very much appreciated
