  1. Hello Kabyl, I required a modified BIOS please so that I can remove cpus=1 from my startup file and so that OSX will see both cores. My laptop is ASUS M50SA with ati mobility 3650 graphics, 2.5 core 2 duo CPU and ICH8 chipset. http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/M50Sa/M50SAas205.zip Thanks and looking forward to the modification..
  2. This guide fully works. I have one hard disk in my laptop, vista x64 installed on partition 1 and OSX on partition 2. Something went wrong with my OSX installation and I had to restore using time machine (luckily I had a recent image). So I booted with my iPC disk, went to utilities and restore from time machine backup. Loaded, selected my most recent image with date/time and restored. The restore completed successfully. However, upon restart all seemed normal. Im using Vistas bootloader so again, everything loaded normal. Selected windows, booted fine. Restarted, select OSX, i got "chain booting error" and also "cant find HFS+ partition" messages. I went into Windows, having macdrive installed allows me to view the partition in my computer, I copied new chain0 files, new boot files etc, to no avail. At one stage even Vista would refuse to load when I tried to recover HFS partition with Easy BCD (option available to recover but I had negative results personally, but excellent software for making your initial bootloader) I searched for days and days to find a solution, finding many which resulted in continued dissapointment. Then I stumbled across this post by store2000. Followed it word for word and hey presto, everything is back to normal. Vista bootloader, boot loader entries, and both OS's load just fine, so thanks for this comprehensive easy-to-follow guide store2000, you really helped. If I can be of any assistance to anyone then please let me know!

ATI Moblity Radeon HD 3650 on iDeneb 1.3

Thats great! Fantastic. I use the iPC distro too on version 10.5.6. I have everything working on my ASUS M50SA-X1 laptop working and all thats left is the graphics. I have 3650 mobility 1GB, now what I have done is gone through dong's forums etc and with his help and all others which I am so grateful for I managed to get it to boot with 1280x800 graphics but no CI/QE but Quartz GL enabled. So, Im ready for the procedure my friend... Thank you!
  4. nomaj and dong, I already have ATIRadeonX2000.kext in S/L/E. Are you saying that even people who have this file cannot access QE/CI yet? Sorry but your answers are not exactly clear, must be the way I am interpreting the English you guys are writing :-|
  5. dong, Is it possible to make QE/CI work with ATI mobility Radeon 3650? I have the kext in s/l/e but it doesnt seem to load it. However, the graphics work fine at a useable resolution
  6. udong, Thanks for the reply and information. Ok, thats understood about the VRAM issue. With the ATIX2000.kext, I have checked my system/library/extensions and there is ATIRadeonX2000.kext in there. is ATIX2000.kext different than this one? Thanks again...
  7. dong, I would like to say great work for your support on the ATI platform. Thanks for the kexts and drivers making this possible. However I would like to ask something. I have in my asus laptop ATI mobility 3650 with 1GB VRAM. In Windows it clears displays the 1GB being used. On iPC 10.5.6 OSX I installed the RadeonHD.kext.10.5, from the 10/28 version, repaired permissions etc and it works! However, why does it only display my VRAM as 256MB and is CI/QE working yet for this card and if yes, how to do it :-) Thanks for your support and keep up the good work!

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 driver hopefully?

uBeer, Just thought I would post you a screen print of my graphics card (in windows) showing the 1GB dedicated video memory, however OSX only see's 256MB. Not sure why...possibly something to do with the driver in OSX...

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 driver hopefully?

uBeer, Thanks for posting the RadeonHD.kext file. I managed to install the kext on my Asus laptop with the mobility 3650, repaired permissions etc, reboot with -f -v flags and it worked. I have 4 different resolutions to choose from with the screen saver working also. The resolution is useable with most video editing programs (final cut and premiere), dvd playback software working, although I will never play games in OSX, for this I use Windows, I still think that to get this far with such a complex and unsupported graphics card is cool. Lets hope that CI/QE gets developed too. P.S Does your computer only display the VRAM as 256MB also? The mobility is 1GB..

Hi all, I need help with my ASUS M50SA I have tried to install OSX on my M50SA and with kalyway and ipc it loads the beginning from the dvd, and it soon as it displays the apple logo with grey screen and spinning wheel, after about 1 second the whole laptop restarts straight away. I have tried ideneb also, this boots and installs fine but upon restart with -f and -v flags for first boot it gets stuck at MAC Framework successfully initialized, 16384 head buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO bufer headers. I have tried many different combinations. Please help. Any ideas? Thanks all!
