  1. macOS HighSierra 10.13.3 released

Is this the same apfs.efi that is in /usr/standalone/i386? I have 10.13.3 installed and the apfs.efi in my /usr/standalone/i386 folder is dated december 17th which means the 10.13.3 apfs is the same as the 10.13.2 one.
  2. Random freeze and SATA LED on

Had a freeze this morning after waking from sleep. I was using imac11,3 and recently changed to macpro5,1; no change. I did check out my DSDT and the device rtc section is almost identical to yours; mine was called RTC0 instead of RTC. I changed to RTC and we'll see what happens now. I am seeing reports of this problem happening on real macs. It appears to happen on older machines. I did come across a post saying it should be fixed in 10.13.2. I'll see what happens once 10.13.2 goes stable and if I continue to have problems I will have to put together a new PC and retire this old girl.
  3. Random freeze and SATA LED on

Clean install didn't help the freezing. It was bad a few days ago where it froze 4 times on me. I've since disable time machine automatic backups and it's been stable since. So far it seems time machine may be the culprit for me.
  4. Random freeze and SATA LED on

I usually get the freeze after I wake from sleep and start browsing the web in chrome. I had it happen again last night. I was in chrome after I woke my computer up then everything froze. Mouse wouldn't move or anything and the hdd led was solid. So I guess disabling trim didn't help. I did try a clean install of high sierra after the freeze last night and so far things have been good.
  5. Random freeze and SATA LED on

I've had this happen on my legacy system with a samsung 840 ssd on apfs and trim enabled. Since disabling trim I haven't had any freezes.
  6. I don't have any sort of fix in my DSDT for gpu. I did forget about the AGDP work around that I am using. I use imac11,3 system definition and an imac14,1 board-id. If I don't do that I get a black screen.
  7. The posted driver is working great for me on my rather old system with a gtx 960 2GB. Before upgrading to high sierra I made sure to uninstall the nvidia drivers. I then upgraded to high sierra then installed the high sierra nvidia drivers. No problems. I'm also not using any sort of AGDP fix or any other kexts other than fakesmc, voodoohda and my ethernet driver.
  8. VoodooHDA 2.9.0

Yes I did that already. It still shows as 8 channel. EDIT: Fixed the youtube problem. Had to set the speaker configuration to "2.0 Surround" instead of "Stereo". Still shows as 8 channel audio though.
  9. VoodooHDA 2.9.0

I'm using voodohda 2.9.0. Recently I have noticed certain youtube videos have no sound. It appears to be any html5 youtube videos have no sound. I've been seeing some reports of people with windows computers having their sound cards set to 7.1 audio and causing this problem. On my os x 10.12.6 machine I took a look in audio midi settings and saw my sound card is listing as 8 channels. I have it set to stereo in "configure speakers". How can I change it to 2 channels? I'm hoping this will fix the issue I'm having with youtube.
  10. Clover General discussion

I think I'm on to something. If I do a reinstall from a USB installer created with createinstallmedia I am unable to start the second stage of the install; boot os x doesn't show in clover. If I do a reinstall from "Recovery HD", clover sees the second stage install and I can continue on to complete the reinstall. This could very well be a bug with the installer and not clover.
  11. Clover General discussion

    Just finished doing that with the latest clover. Still unable to boot the second stage of the install. Attached is a debug log. I do have a recovery hd now and clover can see it. I have it hidden and use f3 to display it if I need it. I'm currently booted in to the recovery hd. Here is what's on my "Macintosh HD" right now: -bash-3.2# ls -la total 8 drwxrwxr-x 6 root admin 272 Apr 23 2017 . drwxr-xr-x 8 root wheel 340 Apr 23 04:06 .. -rw-r--r-- 1 root admin 304 Apr 23 2017 .IAProductInfo drwxr-xr-x@ 11 root wheel 374 Apr 23 2017 macOS Install Data -bash-3.2# ls -la macOS\ Install\ Data/ total 9660984 drwxr-xr-x@ 11 root wheel 374 Apr 23 2017 . drwxrwxr-x 6 root admin 272 Apr 23 2017 .. -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 4946110221 Apr 23 2017 InstallESD.dmg -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 586 Apr 23 2017 InstallInfo.plist d-w-r-xr--@ 6 root admin 204 Apr 23 2017 Locked Files -rw-r--r-- 2 root admin 376 Apr 23 2017 MacOSXInstaller.choiceChanges -rw-r--r-- 2 root admin 399 Apr 23 2017 OSInstallAttr.plist -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 253245 Sep 26 2016 OSX_10_12_IncompatibleAppList.pkg -rw-r--r--@ 1 root wheel 35950 Apr 23 2017 ia.log -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 1052 Apr 23 2017 index.sproduct -rw-r--r-- 2 root admin 612 Apr 23 2017 minstallconfig.xml debug.zip

Sorry, I didn't post a log showing the hfsplus driver loaded. I am able to boot my 10.12.4 system fine on a core storage volume without the hfsplus driver. The problem I am having is that I cannot boot the second stage of the install when doing a clean install. I did try using the hfsplus driver and doing another clean install and I still can't load the second stage of the install. I also don't currently have a "Recovery HD" partition. This is why I am trying to do a clean install. I want to do a clean install so the recovery hd is created. then restore my time machine backup. I should probably attempt another clean install with the hfsplus driver and send another debug log.

I'm using legacy boot, I thought the hfsplus driver was built in? I'm able to boot my system if I do a time machine restore from the installer. I just am unable to do a clean install and continue on to the second stage. EDIT: I'm booted in to my system now after restoring time machine. Here is the driver section from bdmesg. I still don't see hfsplus so I don't think thats the issue. 1:182 0:000 === [ LoadDrivers ] ======================================= 1:182 0:000 Loading AppleImageCodec-64.efi status=Success 1:183 0:000 Loading AppleKeyAggregator-64.efi status=Success 1:183 0:000 Loading AppleUITheme-64.efi status=Success 1:183 0:000 Loading FirmwareVolume-64.efi status=Success 1:183 0:000 Loading FSInject-64.efi status=Success 1:184 0:000 Loading SMCHelper-64.efi status=Success 1:184 0:000 Loading UsbMouseDxe-64.efi status=Success 1:184 0:000 - driver needs connecting 1:184 0:000 1 drivers needs connecting ... 1:184 0:000 PlatformDriverOverrideProtocol->GetDriver overriden EDIT2: hfsplus.efi driver didn't help. I can see the driver loaded successfully via bdmesg. I then booted the 10.12.4 installer off of my usb flash drive and did another clean install. Still doesn't see the second stage installer.

Attached is a zip of the debug log. I enabled debug logging. Rebooted to the installer which is on a usb flash drive. I then wiped "Macintosh HD" using the disk utility in the installer. I then installed OS X. The system rebooted back to clover and there was no option to continue to the second install stage. - Clover 4049 - Legacy boot - Using a DIY Fusion Drive. 15. I had the exact same issue today while trying to do a clean install of 10.12.4 using clover 4061. I think there may be something up with this latest clover version. Maybe tonight I will try a clean install again with 4049. UPDATE: 4049 is able to boot the installer.
