  2. [GUIDE] Dell L701X (xps 17 late 2010)

Anyone has sleep working on mountain lion (10.8.2) on the L701x ?
  3. SpeedStepping for Intel Core i5 430M

You can also grab the ssdt from the installation options of ######, its located under Customization -> Boot options -> SSDT -> Core i5
  4. Finder freezes, cant repair permissions

Try the repair permission option from ######.
  5. Read write on Windows Partition

This helped me enabling full NTFS read/write support on Lion 10.7.4. (totally free). 1. First install MacFuse 2.2.1 (http://mac.softpedia.com/get/System-Utilities/MacFUSE.shtml). 2. Then install NTFS-3G (http://macntfs-3g.blogspot.nl/2010/10/ntfs-3g-for-mac-os-x-2010102.html). 3. Reboot -> it should work now
  6. Entering boot sequence

Hi, You should add these 2 rules to your org.chameleon.boot.plist located in the /Extra/ folder. (the extra folder is mostly located in the root of your os x hdd). <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string> GraphicsEnabler=Y cpus=1 busratios=19</string>
  7. [GUIDE] Dell L701X (xps 17 late 2010)

Hi, Anyone using 2 external monitors? I cant get it working . I have an l701x with HDMI and DisplayPort output. When I plug in one external monitor everything works fine (external monitor + laptop screen). But when I plug in the second external monitor both external monitor goes off and only the laptop screen is enabled. I know the laptop cant drive 3 screens but I want to disable the laptop screen so the 2 external monitors are disabled.
  8. Multi monitor issue

Hi all, Im using a Dell XPS L701x with Lion 10.7.4 and almost everything is working except one important thing. Currently I use 2 external displays, (dell 22" and dell 23"). The laptop has 2 video outputs, HDMI and Displayport (video card = gt445m). When I plug in one external monitor os x recognizes 2 monitors (laptop display and the external monitor) but when I plug in another external display then os x only recognizes the laptop display. (In windows I can select wich 2 displays are enabled and with one is off). Is this also possible in os x lion?
  9. Hi, Im currently using a Dell XPS 17 l701x. This laptop has a HDMI output and display port output. In windows I use 2 monitors, 1 22inch monitor that i connect to display port and one 23inch monitor that i connect to the HDMI laptop lid closed. But when I plug a second external monitor in the first external monitor isn't recognized anymore so is the second external monitor. I want to disable the laptop screen so i can use the 23 inch and the 22inch monitor at the same time. Is this possible?
  10. [GUIDE] Dell L701X (xps 17 late 2010)

Hi, Everything is working for me except graphics aren't total smooth. I have an GT445M 3g (Shows an GT435M ;( ) . Can somebody post the smbios.plist and LegacyAPGM.kext for the L701x with gt445m??
  11. [GUIDE] Dell L701X (xps 17 late 2010)

I only installed your and that appleacpibatterymanager.kext I posted above. You can have a look using teamviewer if you want !
  12. [GUIDE] Dell L701X (xps 17 late 2010)

Mmm this is kinda strange..... I dont know how I got it working but by me it is working. It worked after I installed this kext.
  13. [GUIDE] Dell L701X (xps 17 late 2010)

@buffdriver : Yes this is a way to fix this problem, but I thinks it's a bit of useless way because you cant reenable the trackpad fast. @vladness : About the battery : I got mine fully working (Show percentage). When i installed lion it wasn't working (showed a cross in the battery). I removed applebatterymanager.kext and vodoobattery.kext (<-- Shouldn't be there if you dind't installed it). After that I installed an (probably other) applebatterymanager.kext and then the battery worked fine! PS. We should make a nice guide for this laptop for Lion 10.7 when we have all things working! EDIT: About the temprature, is it the GPU or the CPU? I dont note a big difference between 10.6.7 and 10.7 (maybe because I used 10.6.7 only to make the 10.7 usb stick ) Guys could you please test this method to get the battery working?? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Remove voodobattery.kext and appleACPIBatteryManager.kext from System/Library/Extensions 2. Install the appleACPIBatteryManager given in the attachment 3. Repair permissions with Kext Utility 4. Reboot 5. Battery should function now?????? Give feedback please, Koenkk Adding <key>USBBusFix</key> <string>Yes</string> too your com.apple.boot.plist also seems to work AppleACPIBatteryManager.kext.zip
  14. [GUIDE] Dell L701X (xps 17 late 2010)

Adding ur fix too the com.apple.boot.plist seems to fix the sleep mode , thanks for that. With Lion I dind't get a single freeze yet, with snow leopard i got serveral freezez per hour, so it seems that lion fixes the random freezes. Mac OS X Lion - 14/6/2011 --------------------------------------- - With vladness files almost everything seems to work fine. To fix the sleep issue read the post 2 post above this one. Whats currently not working/bugs ------------------------------------------ - Trackpad disabling, as someone already pointed this seems to be a dsdt issue. It seems that osx lion is not seeing the trackpad as a trackpad or the usb mouse not as a mouse. (The option "Disable trackpad when external or wireless mouse is plugged isnt working) - When you turn off wifi in lion and then turn the wifi adapter off (using fn+f2) and then press turn wifi on on lion the wifi driver seems to crash as you cannot turn the wifi on (you need to reboot in order to get it working again). These are the only bugs i can find yet! Seems that lion is working verry wel on the l701x!
