    10.6.2 update problem

Really? No one has encountered this problem? Strange since there is so many posts on digital dreamers GA-EX58-UD5 install guide..... and I followed that guide since it is the mobo im using. I have installed several fresh installs of snow leopard even leaving out all but the most crucial of kexts. I have no probs booting into snow but everytime i try and update its game over. surpising no one else has had similar issues. oh well i guess i wont update.

    10.6.2 update problem

hello, i just installed the new update. everything went smoothly until the first boot. it doesnt seem to recognize my cpu. (some sort of cpu mismatch) and no mater what i try it always hangs up at system uptime in nanoseconds xxxxxxxxx. not sure what the problem is. it was was working flawlessly before. im runing it on a core i7 with gigabyte ud5 mobo, gtx 260. its a registered legit version of snow leopard too. any ideas? thnx

pc boots shortly after darwin install screen

thnx the busratio=20 was the fix. im able to install now however it is rebooting again after the install and it reboots without giving me a error msg even under verbose mode. i tried bursratio=20 again but nothin, also tried -x -s -f . always reboots. hardware incompatibility?
  4. i have tried -v, -x, etc but the installation always reboots itself. i know the dvd (iDeneb) works cuz i installed on laptop. i have tried a different version (iPC) and same problem occurs. the system reboots a few seconds after the darwin install. ususally its at the onset of the gray screen with silver apple in middle. it visible for less than a second before the sys reboots. any ideas what could be causing this? the pc is core i 920, mobo is GA-EX58-UD5, gtx 260

HELP! iPC 10.5.6 wont load on my MSI 790FX-GD70

i have the same problem with both ideneb and ipc install dvds. they both restart my pc as soon as the darwin boot screen is done loading. what scould be the problem?
  6. Hello, i would like to install a clean version of snow leopard into my core i7 machine. unfortunately all of the guides i have come across (including the one found in these forums) for the gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 require me to have a previous version of leopard installed to prep my hdd so to speak. i managed to borrow a mac laptop but it only has tiger and so none of the patches or even the bootloader run on it. i have 2 versions of leopard iDeneb and iPC and i have the $30 official snow leopard update dvd. now, because i cant figure out a way to properly set up my 8gb zip drive for a clean snow leopard installation in the tiger os i feel i have no choice but to install leopard on one of my other hdds just to prep up my maid hdd. the PROBLEM that i am having is that i cant even begin the leopard installation process at all. i have tried it with both AHCI tuned on and off. i have unplugged all my hdds but the one i plan installing on. i have tried both install dvds and they both do the same thing. the darwin prompt shows up begins to load the installation i see the silver apple screen for a split second then my pc reboots. if i try and put in -v or -x same thing happens but it reboots right before the silver screen and i dont see any errors. now i know the install dvds are good because i am in the process of installing leopard on my peice of {censored} gateway laptop (having other issues with that. it successfully installed but cuz its so old problems with drivers etc.) the pc boots xp fine with ahci on and off. i am completely stumped as i see no reason for both install dvds to cause my system to restart upon attempt of installation. any ideas what could be causing this? preferably i would like to skip the whole leopard install and do i clean snow install but i see no way around it with only tiger available to me.

    Upgrade to snow leopard question

i thought there was no such thing as a clean 10.6 snow leopard install? i thought i had to have leopard installed regardless?
  9. hello, i have successfully installed the iPC 10.5.6 final version on my core i7. no problems so far. i recently purchased an official copy of the snow leopard upgrade from apple (it was 30 bux) i wanted to avoid any problems in the future with updating, patching and whatnot. have not received cd yet but should be here any day. my question is can i just pop in the cd and upgrade to 10.6 or will there be problems due to the fact that the kernels installed are for 10.5?
