  1. Yes I have. From further inspection and searching around, it seems no device attached to the PCIe Slot are working, other than the GPU ofcourse. Have you tried all the PCIe slots on your machine? I also tested the same cards on my Z68 hackintosh and it works perfectly. These devices also cause a problem during shutdown, what happens is the Screen goes off and the fans are still spinning. However once I remove the Pcie cards (FireWire 800 & 1GBPS Ethernet Card by Sonnet) shutdown seems to work just fine. I was trying to play around with npci=0x2000 to see if it makes any difference. But so far no luck.. Any help would be really appreciated.. thanks a ton once again.
  2. Hi Ive got the SR2 up and running but Im having a few problems with devices attached to the pcie slots. Ive attached a Lacie Firewire card which doesnt seem to work, nor does my Sonnet PCIE 1GB ethernet card. Just wanted to know if you guys have tried any of the pcie slots and have them working correctly.. I know the cards work cause they work in my other z68 hackie just fine Any help would be really appreciated.

    [Guide] Asus P8Z68 Deluxe

Hi, I'm using the Asus P8Z68 Deluxe Gen3, and wanted to know where I could get a DSDT or if I could use the same Bios patch that you're using.? I found this website http://bios4asus.blogspot.in/ which allows me to download a patched Bios for the Asus P8Z68 Deluxe Gen3, but I dont know if I need an SSDT or DSDT? Infact, to be honest I don't know the difference between SSDT and DSDT.. Thanks for all help..
  4. Hi there, Is there a way of getting 2 GPU's working under Snow Leopard..? Ive heard of people modifying their DSDT's but is one restricted to the slot arrangement of the GPU's. Im looking at running a GTS 250 / ATI 5770 with a Quadro 6000 / GTX 580 as my second card. I will be using this for DaVinci Resolve for osx. Ive read of people running 3 GTX 285's in osx & am hoping this can all be accomplished keeping the system vanilla. Cheers Guys really appreciate the wealth of knowledge available at Insanelymac.com

    Chameleon 2.4svn Official PKG Installer

hi everyone. Ive used chameleon on several machines and have nothing but admiration for the work you guys have put in. Recently I tried the latest revision of chameleon R656 on a 16gb pen drive but my UD7 rev 1 bios F6 refuses to post with chameleon installed on the pen drive. I tried the same installer on a 2gb pen drive and viola it works..!! I once again tried it with my 16GB pen drive partitioned and it hangs again not even letting me into bios. I wanted to know if there is any restriction on installing chameleon on a partition larger than 2GB. Please let me know if there is any further information that i can provide. Cheers..
  6. Hi dOOd, Brilliant...!! I have my SR2 on order as well... Would love to get OSX running on it. Unfortunately dont have skills and know how to get a working DSDT or patched bootloader I hear is necessary to run this beast.. Any info as far as DSDT or kexts would be extremely helpful. Just sent you a PM... Cheers...& keep up the awesome work
  7. Hi TwistedSystems, Thanks for the prompt reply.. I actually fixed the errors (Copy paste errors caused the formatting to go for a toss).. I will actually give the above DSDT a try and see how its done.... Cheers
  8. HI guys, My first attempt at making a dsdt.. Ive followed the steps from scratch but have encountered some compile errors. Im posting the error codes output:- Pls help me out... a little confused Intel ACPI Component Architecture ASL Optimizing Compiler version 20091214 [Dec 16 2009] Copyright © 2000 - 2009 Intel Corporation Supports ACPI Specification Revision 4.0 /Users/procomp/Library/Application Support/EvOSoftware/DSDT/DSDTFiles/dsdt.dsl 42: Name (\_S0, Package (0x04) Error 4096 - syntax error, unexpected PARSEOP_NAME ^ /Users/procomp/Library/Application Support/EvOSoftware/DSDT/DSDTFiles/dsdt.dsl 4085: Device (DMA1) Error 4096 - syntax error, unexpected PARSEOP_DEVICE ^ /Users/procomp/Library/Application Support/EvOSoftware/DSDT/DSDTFiles/dsdt.dsl 4121: Name (ATT6, ResourceTemplate () Error 4096 - syntax error, unexpected PARSEOP_NAME ^ /Users/procomp/Library/Application Support/EvOSoftware/DSDT/DSDTFiles/dsdt.dsl 4153: Device (RTC) { Name (_HID, EisaId ("PNP0B00")) Name (ATT0, ResourceTemplate () { IO (Decode16, 0x0070, // Range Minimum 0x0070, // Range Maximum 0x00, // Alignment 0x02, // Length ) IRQNoFlags () {8} }) Name (ATT1, ResourceTemplate () { IO (Decode16, 0x0070, // Range Minimum 0x0070, // Range Maximum 0x00, // Alignment 0x02, // Length ) }) Error 4096 - syntax error, unexpected PARSEOP_DEVICE ^ /Users/procomp/Library/Application Support/EvOSoftware/DSDT/DSDTFiles/dsdt.dsl 4155: Method (_CRS, 0, NotSerialized) Error 4096 - syntax error, unexpected PARSEOP_METHOD ^ /Users/procomp/Library/Application Support/EvOSoftware/DSDT/DSDTFiles/dsdt.dsl 4175: Device Offset (0xF0), Error 4096 - syntax error, unexpected PARSEOP_DEVICE, expecting $end ^ ASL Input: /Users/procomp/Library/Application Support/EvOSoftware/DSDT/DSDTFiles/dsdt.dsl - 6050 lines, 215057 bytes, 1806 keywords Compilation complete. 6 Errors, 0 Warnings, 0 Remarks, 2 Optimizations

  10. Hi dood sorry to trouble you again... with this repost But Ive managed to get my DSDT dump via Ubuntu Live CD... Couple of questions:- 1) Does my bios have to be set to defaults before taking the DSDT dump, Or, can I leave it overclocked with AHCI enabled before taking the DSDT dump. 2) After using UBUNTU to give me a dsdt dump i get a dsdt.aml (Compiled version).. Shouldnt I be performing edits with dsdt.dsl (uncompiled version)...? if so how do i get a .dsl output from Ubuntu. Also is it ok if use Ubuntu as opposed to other methods 3) After opening the dsdt.aml on another system with DSDTse after fixing all errors in compilation with 0 errors & 0 warnings.. what edits (hacks under DSDTSE) or additional edits should i be using... (I know there is this _WAK & HPET error that has to be fixed but dont know how to) Rather what are the common edits i should be using for my DSDT. 4) Is there a way to check what edits have been made to a DSDT.. ( i have a DSDT for the X58A-UD7 (bios F4) which works beautifully.. but want to upgrade to bios F6.. 5) Is there any difference in compiling a DSDT for a P55 board from the X58 platform.. (any additional edits) I know these are NOOB questions but Ive been using image files from kexts.com which have worked for me so far, hence I havent gotten into DSDT editing. I would truly appreciate your help and would be uploading my dsdt soon and would request you to check it out..... I just need a bit of clarification as Im a bit confused with the basics... Please do help out....
  11. Hi Gidi, Thanks for your prompt response.. Ive been having some cold boot bugs with the X58a-UD7 bios F4 which apparently will be fixed with bios F6. Very randomly i get an overclock fail message and the board reverts to its stock speeds. I fixed that by lowering my memory multiplier (once your ram is above 1600 Mhz it happens way more frequently... Ive clocked my ram down to 1200 Mhz..) I will also be getting my hands on the X58a-Ud7 rev 2.0 by this week and will need to make a dsdt for it.. its using bios FA (initial release).. which is why i need to wrap my head around editing the DSDT. I will also be getting p55a-ud4p rev 1.0 tomorrow and might need some help in sorting the DSDT again... If i may... since your using bios F7 beta for the ud7 can you explain how you got your DSDT up and running... as Ive mentioned in my previous post (sorry for being repetitive), I have extracted the DSDT from a UBUNTU 10.04 live CD but am clueless as to how to proceed any further.. just need a basic understanding. which hopefully I will get from you guys...
  12. Hi sorry to trouble you again.... But Ive managed to get my DSDT dump via Ubuntu Live CD... Couple of questions:- 1) Does my bios have to be set to defaults before taking the DSDT dump, Or, Should I overclock (3.5Ghz) and enable AHCI mode before taking the DSDT dump. 2) After using UBUNTU to give me a dsdt dump i get a dsdt.aml (Compiled version).. Shouldnt I be performing edits with dsdt.dsl (uncompiled version)...? if so how do i get a .dsl output from Ubuntu. Also is it ok if use Ubuntu as opposed to other methods 3) After opening the dsdt.aml on another system with DSDTse after fixing all errors in compilation with 0 warnings.. what hacks should i be using... (there is DSDT hacks section in DSDTse.) Rather what are the common hacks i should be using for my DSDT. 4) Is there a way to check what edits have been made to a DSDT.. 13. hi dood, I have been a hackintosher for a while now and have used the EX58-UD5 and currently on the X58A-UD7. Ive been using the dsdt from kexts.com USB Image. The solution works OOB, but I cant update my bios until a new Image has been uploaded by another user. I would like to be on BIOS F6 for the UD7, but am currently on F4. I want to be able to compile my own DSDT which is why your thread is of great interest to me, and i must also add a wealth of knowledge. Is it possible to compile a dsdt using DSDTse instead of the other tools listed on the first page. I have managed to get a DSDT dump via step one while booting without my dsdt and only three kexts (NullCpu, Fakesms + ElliotRTC.) My prob is dont know how to proceed or use getDSDT.sh. I would really appreciate any help that you can provide.. Rgds, UTDfan
