  1. HP Mini 311 - Support Questions/Requests

For those of you that are looking for a cheaper alternative for the extensions. I purchased some of the apple antennas on Ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390108162027) and some U.FL connectors from sparkfun (http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=9144). The connectors are surface mount but I didn't have much trouble cutting the wire to the antenna and soldering it onto the surface mount connector. It's probably not the most durable thing but it shouldn't see much abuse inside the machine. The nice thing is it only cost about $3.50 (plus some shipping) and I could make it much shorter than 6 inches since it didn't seem like it would be easy to find a place to stow all that extra wire in my machine.

Does anyone else have problems with wired ethernet after sleep? I'm using the latest stuff from the top post and sleep is working great in terms of there being no KP. But, whenever I wake from sleep, it shows no link on the ethernet. I'm using 100baseT. Anyone else getting this?
  3. HP Mini 311 - Project Thread (Part I - OLD)

Hi everyone, I just thought I would chime in that I have my taped wifi card working (with no range though). It's a BCM94321mc that I got from GetPartsOnline.com It's more expensive than ebay ones ($25.99) but it was in the US so I got it pretty quickly. Does anyone have a source for antenna extensions? I checked with one place jefatech.com but their smallest is 6". I asked for a quote on a 2" one but they said they only do custom orders for 50 or more. Are there 25 of us here needing extensions? -Jeremy

Hi All, I'm new here, I just wanted to chime in that I got my 311 (w/ 802.11g) today and have been messing around with it. I pulled the stock HD out and put a new one in and installed 10.6 on it with netbook install. It booted right up. I installed NVenabler and the latest DSDT from proto and I now have working video and sleep. Of course no wifi yet and no audio. Thanks for all of the work you guys have done. It looks like it could shape up to be a pretty nice little machine if we get wifi and audio working.
