  2. I just switched up to v17, and tried the new applehda/hdaenabler combo. I'm getting a cracking sound on my p35-ds4, any time a new sound plays after some silence. Is there any fix for this?
  3. New Chameleon Announced!

very cool, any estimate on when?
  4. ALC889A problem - Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3

Any solutions to the "pop" problem? I'm on a Gigabyte P35-DS4 and I too suffer from this, I'm still using the 1.2.4 version.
  5. Is there any way to have this not wait for a prompt? I know normally you can set a timeout time, but with this method installed, I always have to hit enter to continue the boot process. Am I missing something?
  6. I've noticed this problem with any legacy hda solution I've tried. The only way I can get past this cracking sound is by using Taruga's patched hda kext's. Is anyone actively trying to fix this problem?
  7. [BOOT-132] Legacy AppleHDA

Anyone have a working solution for 889a with microphone input working as an input, and without the pop whenever a sound is played? Taruga's AppleHDA works great for me, but i want a vanilla solution, and I haven't been able to figure out how to convert the working .kext I have to Legacy .kext's to be loaded in boot132. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is the one thing that holds me back from a completely vanilla install. P.S. I'm on a gigabyte p35-ds4
  8. Boot-132 and SW Raid

I was just wondering if anyone had any luck tying chameleon's raid booting functionality with dfe's boot-132. I tried replacing my chameleon install boot file on my raid helper partition, but it didn't end up giving me an option to boot it. I used karaakeha1's guide on this thread: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=76404 to setup chameleon to enable raid booting, and it works fine like that, but I would like to switch over to the modified boot-132 and maintain my bootability. I'm using a GA-P35-DS4 with an apple SW raid instal.
  9. PC EFI vs. Chameleon EFI

The only issue I see with Chameleon is that it breaks my shutdown and reboot which functioned well with pc_efi. I love the RAID support. My Specs: Vanilla kernel GA-P35-DS4 E6700 @ 2.67Ghz 600 Gb Raid Stripe
  10. My process (DVD still freezes however) • Mount the ISO • Copy the initrd.img to the local disk (Desktop or whatever) • Mount the initrd.img with the finder • Edit the Extensions folder by adding dsmos.kext • Use the windows program MagicISO within crossover or darwine to edit the iso, removing the old initrd.img and replacing it with the modified one • Save • Burn the newly modified .iso Again, this works somewhat for me (I can see the kexts being read before the disk boots) but I get a spinny beachball as soon as the grey screen for the installer comes up. If someone has a better method, or can tell me what I'm missing besides dsmos.kext, I'd appreciate it. Good luck all. I should also mention I'm running a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 board with an E6700 C2D and a nvidia 7600 GT.
  11. Booting installation DVD using PC EFI

i'm having issues with these scripts. whenever it gets to the line: bblocks=`hdiutil pmap boot.iso | awk '/Apple_ISO/ { print $5 }'` nothing happens, and hdiutil uses about 95% cpu, and sits. What could I be doing wrong?
  12. DiskWarrior 4 Patcher for Hackint0sh

    Thanks for this.
  13. I'm looking at building a C2d hackintosh for less than $350-$400. I have several IDE harddrives i'd like to use, but i plan on using ide/sata adaptors (~$15.00 ea). I want several PCI cards, and I'll be needing new ram/Video/processor. Everything else I have. Any suggestions are welcome, but i'm looking for motherboards that are close to 100% supported in leopard with efi. If you have something that meets that description tell me about it here and how it works for you. Thanks for your input.
