Are you saying that the driver works properly when you do this? Nick
  2. Snow Leopard on VAIO P(VGN-P90HS) working!

No DVD required - you can use a USB stick - instructions at http://osx.mechdrew.com/guides/nbi1.shtml tell you how to get the OS X DVD onto a USB to boot from (see the "On the Mac" section).
  3. Snow Leopard on VAIO P(VGN-P90HS) working!

Snow Leopard retail works fine with some very quick modifications. See this post for full details: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1313083. I've used this method several times and it works totally fine.
  4. Hi, Can you tell me how you used Console, dmesg and IOUSB to find out that it was the ALPS mouse/keyboard that was stopping sleep? I'd like to try the same on my Sony Vaio P in the hope of getting sleep to work! Cheers, Nick
  5. Vaio P Snow Leopard

Hi, Has anybody managed to get anywhere with sleep or hibernate? This is the most annoying thing for me and it definitely makes the system less usable having to shutdown and restart and reopen all apps all the time. I've just seen this post - http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=209441 - which mentions using Console, dmesg and IOUSB to determine which device was preventing the system from sleeping. Maybe somebody can try something like this so we can at least identify the offending device? I'll try and give it a go in a few days time. Nick

Did anybody have any luck with the file I attached above? Nick

Good work DaFD! I've extracted the SGX535GL driver from my iPhone 3GS - it's a .bundle file (attached). Not sure what we can do with it though, as the .bundle file contains just a .plist file and a binary. I guess we'd have to decompile the binary - is that even possible? Cheers, Nick IMGSGX535GLDriver.bundle.zip
  8. Vaio P Snow Leopard

I've got my Vaio P set up with OS X now - it's great! Everything works apart from QE on the graphics (I can live with that as i'll be using the laptop mostly for programming), and sleep/hibernate. Ryuu mentioned disabling USB makes sleep/hibernate work? Anybody got any ideas how to do that? Cheers, Nick
  9. Vaio P Snow Leopard

My Vaio P is arriving tomorrow - the first job I'll be doing is backing up the hard drive and getting Snow Leopard installed Sleep would be a massive bonus for me too - and if it means disabling USB then that's not a problem. I remember reading on another forum (about Acer netbooks - I used to have one but sold it to get the Vaio P instead), that installing SmartSleep (http://www.jinx.de/SmartSleep.html) sometimes got sleep to work. It allows you to change between different modes of sleep and hibernate. Any help or advice anybody can offer would be great! Cheers, Nick
  10. Vaio P Snow Leopard

This thread is really interesting. :angry2: Can anybody tell me if sleep or hibernate work in SL on the Vaio P? Does the WLAN that ships in the Vaio P work? Or does it have to be swapped out for another WLAN card (if that's even possible)? Thanks, Nick
