  1. Buying a new laptop

I want to buy a laptop, 13'' to 15.6'', what hardware should I avoid and what should I be looking for? Ati mobility cards don't seem to well supported here, so what video cards are best? Are any of the intel hd graphics well supported? Has anyone got any suggestions? The cheaper the better! Or how does os x run on your laptop some of these look good... http://apcmag.com/notebookhunter/buyersgui...to-macbooks.htm
  2. DSDT Auto-Patcher

still won't boot with AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement, still no sleep I now have nullcpu installed and AppleIntelCPUPowerManagementClient
  3. DSDT Auto-Patcher

so reinstall AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement & AppleIntelCPUPowerManagementClient and install nullcpupowermanagement?
  4. DSDT Auto-Patcher

my system doesn't boot with AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement, I get a kernel panic
  5. DSDT Auto-Patcher

I've already deleted sleepenabler, and AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement & AppleIntelCPUPowerManagementClient are both deleted processor is 2.4GHz core 2 duo
  6. DSDT Auto-Patcher

it's ICH7 I just tried it with Sleepenabler kext but that doesn't help at all output.rtf thanks for your help!
  7. DSDT Auto-Patcher

    thanks, I used the dsdt you made but sleep still isn't working instead of pressing the keyboard/mouse to wake which always restarted the computer, now it stays in sleep mode, pressing the keyboard/mouse doesn't do anything this is my boot.plist <dict> <key>Default Partition</key> <string>hd(0,2)</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1280x1024x32</string> <key>DSDT</key> <string>/Extra/dsdt.aml</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>no</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>arch=i386 -v</string> <key>Theme</key> <string>Default</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>5</string> <key>GeneratePStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GenerateCStates</key> <string>Yes</string> </dict> and the only kexts in extraaaa/etensions are fakesmc.kext & nvenabler64.kext
  8. DSDT Auto-Patcher

I have an asus p5l-mx, the closest board in the auto-patcher is p5lp-le, it shares the same chipset but different audio/networking, the only thing I don't have is properly working sleep.. should I try the patch for that board? my current dsdt send_me.zip
  9. I removed the efi string from my boot.plist and installed nvenabler64 into extra/extensions from here , rebuilt extensions.mkext and repaired permissions with kext utility and now everythings back to normal using 10.6.2 kexts (full qe/ci) though my card model isn't displayed in system profiler
  10. I tried replacing nvdaresman and nvdanv50hal with the versions from 10.6.1 as suggested in that thread but end up with the same result; blue screen if nvdaresman is loaded. Another suggestion in that thread is to use the graphics port closest to the motherboard for your display output, though I'm waiting for an adapter to arrive before I can try this.
  11. I changed the fakesmc key as you described but still get the same msg when booting and still a blue screen with nvdaresman.kext
  12. I added the string <key>MSDS</key> <string></string> as outlined here though I still get the same fakesmc message, however I don't think this has anything to with my graphics problem
  13. same here I can't boot with nvdaresman.kext, I only get a blue screen but without it in sys/lib/ext I don't have qe/ci which I did have working in 10.6.1
  14. That fixed it for me THANKYOU! though I used mv -f Is nvdaresman.kext not needed now?
