  1. Hi, I have a Dell Optiplex 745, I had to install a Intel 82546EB gigabit PCI network card because there are no drivers for the onboard broadcom 5754 nic. Anyway, I have been running Leopard (10.5) for about a year now, with no problems at all. But today I did a clean install with Snow Leopard (10.6). Just as with 10.5, 10.6 have built in drivers for the Intel nic... But the network connection keeps dropping with 10.6 At boot, the network is up, but after receiving a couple of packets the connection dies. Network in "System settings" still reports the connection to be up though. Changing something in the settings so that I can press Apply makes the connection live for a short time again. Has anyone else had these problems? Are there any kext to download that fixes this? Or maybe even some way to get the BCM5754 up and running? Best regards and thanks in advance! /Ola
  2. Could you perhaps send me the dsdt.aml file you created, if Im doing something wrong there... ?
  3. Thanks for your time and help!! But I still get "Waiting on root device" though... Chameleon was installed correctly and I placed the following kexts in /Extra/Extensions/: Disabled.kext fakesmc.kext IOATAFamily.kext NullCPUPowerManagement.kext OpenHaltRestart.kext PlatformUUID.kext I found and downloaded the IOATAFamily.kext from a thread here at insanelymac.com, I searched for IOATAFamily +ICH8 +snow. I think that should be the correct one since the optiplex 745 uses the ICH8.
  4. Sorry for beeing stupid, but the "extras/extensions" folder you are talking about, is it "/Library/Extensions/" you are talking about or am I missing something? Best regards
  5. Hi, Has anyone successfully installed Snow Leopard on an Optiplex 745? I have done some very basic tries with boot132/SL Boot132 cd's and a Vanilla SL Install DVD, but it always stops at "waiting for root device". It uses a Intel Q965 (ICH8) Express Chipset and a Core 2 Duo processor. (I have 10.5.7 installed on it atm) Any help appreciated!
  6. Hi, Is there an easy way to make a PC graphicscard, like e.g. the 8800GT or ATI 4850/70? I have searched the forum and web about flashing the cards with EFI rom, but I havent found anything that I find reliable enough... Is flashing the only way to make it work? Best regards Ola
