  1. Windows + VirtualBox = MAC OS

Just wanted to say thanks for all the info on this topic. I was struggling away and cme across this topic. I have it working now with VirtualBox's EFI setting. So booting fine. In particular the two AMD links for the Boot.plist updates here were invaluable. http://www.takwing.idv.hk/tech/virtual/vb4...nowl/index.html AMD Phenom x2 545, Win7x64, VirtualBox 4.02, OSX 10.6.3 HOTiSO Thanks again
  2. [How To] X800 XL set up with working Display Manager and QE/CI

Unfortunately I cannot play games yet. Trying Monster pinball (from demonoid). Graphics are not working. Getting copies of the screen and they are all {censored} and purple. Will search around - but any tips would be really helpful @radan: I did have to do the hex edit and plist text edit. But my card (or device ID) was not in the list
  3. [How To] X800 XL set up with working Display Manager and QE/CI

Thanks heaps, worked for me. PCIE Powercolor X850XT (5d52) Jas 10.4.8 Callisto b005 - monitor has to be plugged into port 1 (card has 2 DVI ports) Also did the EDID trick talked about in Callisto b005 install guide. Not sure if necessary, tried it before I tried changing ports. Didn't work until I changed ports. Make sure you verify the Callisto stuff (resolution change) is working before getting into ATIRadeon 9700 stuff. Then just did the Radeon9700 stuff as described on front page and its all good. Love the Itunes jukebox thingy, incentive to go and find all my album covers Still got little screen glitches (assume this is "mouse tearing"). My other HW: AMD4000+, ASUS A8VE Delux, LG L1910B LCD screen
  4. OS X / Windows File Sharing

Thanks heaps. I just did as xtraa said (post 2) and it all worked fine. Just using the .zip provided. I am now accessing the shared drive on my Windows2000 machine.
  5. I have a Sandisk Cruzer mini. It shows up and is identified in the System profiler, but does not show up as a disk I can use. Nothing in /dev is screaming "mount me" either. Running 10.4.6 on Asus A8V-E Delux, which uses a VIA chipset K8T890 / VT8237R
  6. I have plugged in a flash drive (Cruzer Mini) and it is recognised - i.e. shows up in the system profiler. But I cannot get it to mount as a disk? In red-hat I had to mount /dev/(something)? Any ideas? It looks like the system knows what it is, but I want to have access to it in finder? Motherboard is Asus A8V-E Delux
  7. I have A VIA chipset. Plug in my "Sandisk Cruser Mini" thumb drive and the system profiler recognises it (can't get it to actually mount as a disk though). But I think that means the USB is working. I do get USB errors in the system log, but I'm pretty sure thats just because I have the Thrustmaster game controller plugged in, which it doesn't recognise. When I remove the controller and reboot, these messages are not there. M'Board is A8V-E Delux, and chipset is VIA K8T890 (north) VT8237R (south) (I have no idea what all this north/south {censored} means, just quoting the manual)
  8. [How To] 10.4.4/5/6 running on VIA SATA

Thanks Sherry you are a legend. Awesome guide, didn't work for me at first. But trial and error found the missing steps. 13.5) rm /System/Library/Extensions.kext_cache (or something like that) 13.6) rm /System/Library/Extensions.mkext Not sure if the kext_cache matters (I tried it first - didn't help), but didn't work until after I remove the .mkext file. I am using the Jas 10.4.6 DVD @Sherry, also noted you have similar setup to me (A8V-E Deluxe, SATA,...). Did you ever get sound working?
