  1. Anyone get iPad charging working? The board supports it, but comes with a Windows 7 AI charging application. Not sure if that application is required... BY the way, this whole package business that has the drivers / bootloader pre-loaded + has a boot CD if you mess up is so nice...
  2. No issues here either. Maybe you don't have bluetooth support under Lion? Using Belkin USB bluetooth dongle.
  3. ATI Radeon HD 5450 Working On Snow Leopard

    Ahhh that's how, thanks
  4. Ugh I was hoping I'd figure something out from that error log but I didn't see anything off in it (unless someone else here knows more). I had similar issues getting my ATI 5770 running upon upgrading to 10.6.7, so I think your graphics card is crashing everything (and the LAN is just a distraction). One thing that changes in that update is that Apple updates the graphics drivers. Maybe try updating to 10.6.7, then before restarting, install Andy's package, which will replace some of the graphics drivers with modified versions.
  5. Try typing "-v" at the bootloader and see what fails during startup. As for the internet, since you have the non-pro motherboard you have to install a different kext for internet: http://lnx2mac.blogspot.com/p/realtekrtl81xx-osx-driver.html
  6. Supported Graphics cards with Full QE/QI

To my understanding, there are a few types of HD 5770 cards: 1. Purchased from Apple for $$$. Works out of the box in 10.6 and 10.7 without any OS modifications. 2. XFX model purchased from Best Buy / Newegg for less. If the card is stock and the OS is stock, it will crash upon loading the GUI. However, you can flash the Apple XFX HD 5770 onto the graphics card to make it permanently work on all vanilla installations . There are other ways to make it work that I couldn't replicate but I like the permanent solution (flash the bios of the graphics card within Windows 7): http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1136504. graphics acceleration works. 3. I don't have a sapphire so I dont' know why these work stock but my xfx didn't. i think it has something to do with efi disclaimer: don't flash an xfx 5770 rom onto a sapphire 5770 card
  7. ATI Radeon HD 5450 Working On Snow Leopard

How did you modify the 5450 ROM you attached in the OP? I'm asking because mine must be slightly different (XFX?), and the 5450 ROM you attached doesn't work under /Extras, and if I try to flash it to the card ATIFlash returns an incompatibility error. I'm thinking if I re-traced your steps in modifying the BIOS then I can get an XFX version working. Thanks.
  8. nice!! the new boot loader works here too. my machine wouldn't be nearly as awesome without the binaries you keep posting.. so thanks for sharing them. if you are stuck on how to install the bootloader off andy's zip, check out the first post in the AnVAL (ACPI Loader) thread. update: so far I everything I'm aware of works on lion . had to install the realtek Kext for the P8P67
  9. I have that exact card and I had to flash a new rom onto the graphics card in order for it to work. here's how you get it to work: (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1136504)
  10. I am having a lot of issues trying to get my 5770 to work. I'm sort of new here so that may be a contributing factor. 5770 isn't listed on the OP as having been tested, but other people have gotten the 5770 working with in the ANVAL bootloader thread (which this includes). For one thing, even if I upgrade to 10.6.7 before installing Andy's package (which the directions say is okay), I immediately get a blank screen upon loading if I manually install the ANVAL bootloader and I get a corrupted screen when the GUI finally loads if I boot using the CD (all vanilla except CD-boot material). If I install Andy's kext packages, then upgrade to 10.6.7, the kernel will crash during text screen and tell me ATIRadeonX3000 crashed. If I take my 5770-specific device ID out of ATIRadeonX3000.kext or I simply delete the kext, then I can boot all the way, but my computer doesn't detect the graphics card (not sure why i would need X3000.kext). Installing an ATI ROM and trying graphicsenabler and -useatirom at bootup doesn't change anything (not sure if it took). Installing ATY_init.kext (5770 specific) and booting arch=i386 does allow a bootup if I install Andy's package, but the drivers don't take, and ATY_init.kext isn't loaded (yes, I rebuild cache, fixed permissions). So to summarize, going as Vanilla as one can with the 5770 results in it crashing, and going with Andy's package allows startup no problem but the driver's don't take. I'm really interested if anyone with a 5770 has gotten this working, and if so, what they did. Edit: Wow, it turns out there is a bios difference between a standard XFX 5770 card and a Macintosh one. I flashed a new ROM onto my ATI 5770 and it's working just fine. (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1136504) thanks andy for such an amazing package... makes our lives so much easier.. and I apologize for hijacking your thread for a non-P8P67 issue
  11. So a lot of the ATI drivers have you replace the /boot image after installing the latest chameleon. I tried just replacing the /boot image with your loader, and got a black screen shortly after startup. Just wondering if you think we can swap out the /boot image. Since all the x64 bit 5xxx drivers include swapping out the boot image, does this mean we can't have those drivers? Or is there another reason for my bug? thanks
  12. ATI HD 5770

I've spent many hours trying to get this working unsuccessfully. 1. Used Andy's BootCD to install vanilla 10.6 on P8P67 (modified ANVAL bootloader for this motherboard / Sandy Bridge chip) 2. + / - (tried both methods) installed his package that replaces ATISupport.kext, ATIFrameBuffer.kext 3. Install the ROM included on page 35, put it in /Extra 4. Tried installing the boot image on page 34, but this crashes with Andy's BootCD. Installed latest Chameleon package (Feb 2011), was able to boot with the boot image on page 34, but had a 1GHz processor (boo unmodified bootloader) and ATI drivers were still not loaded. I used graphicsenabler=yes and useatirom=yes 5. Tried using the Andy's modified ANVAL bootloader without changing the boot file and still didn't work. 6. I have to delete ATIRadeonX3000.kext since this will crash on startup. Any help? I'm kind of a n00b here but I'm learning fast. How necessary was the boot image you included on page 34? Anyway I can make it work with a sandy bridge-modified bootloader? thanks...
  13. Trying to get my ATI 5770 installed and having some difficulties. With your bootCD, does it support injection commands? Does graphicsenabler=yes work as it does with chameleon? Tried installing the package to allow you to book chameleon, but I have the non-pro version of the motherboard and when I try to use chameleon it thinks I have an xeon 1 ghz processor lol. so i'm stuck with your bootcd for now. thanks for everything
  14. thanks for this install CD - saves me so much time... very helpful!
  15. Introduce yourself.

sup. basically just wanted to say thanks to somebody who put together an awesome boot cd with a particular motherboard... apparently new users can't post ... so yeah i'm here instead hoping to be able to throw a thanks later on
