  1. Damn, finally got through to the mini card bay and found no cables exist to install my Dell WIFI card. This is apparently because I have the NON 3D model! Still need to aquire a WIFI card then.
  2. Thanks Zpecter. I have one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DELL-DW1390-Broadcom-Wifi-Wireless-Laptop-WLAN-Card-/251153107994?pt=UK_Computing_NetworkCards_RL&hash=item3a79e44c1a#ht_500wt_899 Which I may try installing before buying anything.
  3. Would something like this WIFI card do the trick? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mini-150M-USB-Realtek8188CU-WiFi-Wireless-LAN-Card-802-11-n-g-b-Adapter-UK-/300724334700?pt=UK_Computing_USB_Wi_Fi_Adapters_Dongles&hash=item460491306c#ht_2966wt_1139
  4. Thank you, that's great. I have 2670 and A17, so I just replaced the DSDT and SSDTs last time and it all seems to have worked great! Going to try getting this WIFI card installed, but it looks like you have to take the top of the laptop apart which is slightly scary!
  5. Obviously I am a beginner, but the method I used with the micro install of 10.7.4 worked flawlessly! 10.8.2 (micro or not) using the same approach would be much appriciated!
  6. Hi, Does anyone know if a Dell DW1390 Wireless card will work in my L702x for OSX? I got it for my M1530 XPS some years back for WIFI on Snow Leopard. Also, what do I need to copy from a full OSX install to get the dictionary working in Safari and stop underlining all words red? Thanks for your help Tony
  7. HI there, Firstly, a big thank you to everyone for this thread, I am typing this from Lion right now on my L702x! I used the 10.7.4 Micro install, which worked perfectly!! THANK YOU!!! My spec is: 2870QM, GT555M 1920x1080 (Non 3D), 8GB, Intel WIFI/Bluetooth. Just a few questions if that's OK: 1. My main issue at the moment is sleep. Lion goes to sleep if I leave it for a buit and it won't resume. (Black screen). Is there a solution or can I disable sleep on Lion? 2. I got myself a Dell Truemobile Wifi card some years back when I installed Snow Leopard on my XPS m1530, do you know if this will work on Lion on the L702x? 3. Spelling in Safari is not working, this whole text is underlined in red! I know it was mentioned that it was removed, but could someone point me to how I can reinstall it? 4. As on 3, screensavers have been removed, how can I get them back? Thanks again, this was so much more straight forward than when I did this some years back! Tony
  8. Yes everything I have tried all looks to be working nicely thank you! Just cloned this image incase I stuff it up at some point. With shutdown, sleep and restart this seems to be a very useable OS...
  9. BRETT, YOU ARE AWESOME. Thank you!!!!!!!
  10. Hi Brett, whoops I got confused with the DSL thing I was working with the other night. That seems to work fine, I now have shutdown working for the first time!!!! Still no sleep though? If I shut the lid or let it sleep through power saving the screen goes off, but the blue blue-tooth light stays on and I can hear it has not gone off? When we talk about sleep is that like when I shut the lid on Windows and it kinda shuts off/hibernates? Thanks again for you help and hard work on this!
  11. Hi, thanks for your replies... I have downloaded the DSDT.aml file, but I am not sure what to do with it? Do I follow on from step three on the front of this thread or can this be compiled or something as is to try out? If so can someone just mention what I need to run? Thanks
  12. Hi there, I recently dug out my M1530 Snow Leopard install from last year after checking back here and seeing people have sleep working, which was something I really wanted. I have been reading through these various threads and even tried generating my own DSDT, but sleep does not seem to work. Click sleep and it just goes black with the blue power light on. Is it as simple as downloading the generic M1530 DSDT and selecting it from Chameleon at boot to test? If so I don't think it works on my set-up/install??
  13. Snow Leopard on a DELL XPS M1530

Can anyone tell me how to get sleep working?
  14. [GUIDE] Leopard on an XPS 1330/1530

Hi D Lab, I think some of the chaps here on this forum have the sleep, shutdown and restart working, but I am not sure how. I use OSX as my main OS as it is so much nicer than windows, just have to use Win7 for windows development is all. Dunno if someone here can shed any light on the sleeping issue?
  15. [GUIDE] Leopard on an XPS 1330/1530

I have exactly the same spec as you by the looks of things right down to the processor and I have had snow running for quite a while. I'll be honest and say all this dsdt stuff is right over my head so all i have done is install snow with some kexts and I am working without sleep, shutdown, restart, headphone socket and media keys, but other than that everything else seems to be working just nicely.....(don't know about speedstep, but noone seems to be able to tell me how you know this is working)
