  1. No WiFi Whitelist on new HP Laptops!

Thanks Micky. I will check it out for sure.
  2. No WiFi Whitelist on new HP Laptops!

The problem is how do we know if and when the whitelist will be removed for our current PCs. Does anyone know from the bios changelog of newer PCs with no whitelist? Does HP specifically mention it in the changelog or do we have to just try out the blacklisted cards?
  3. No WiFi Whitelist on new HP Laptops!

Hi Micky1979, Can you please provide more info on where you saw that HP is now updating its UEFI bioses?
  4. You're right. I was just wondering if a patched kernel is available. I also see that kernel source for 10.8 is not available yet so I can not even patch it. Guess I will have to live with cpus=1 for now or try to patch my bios or even patch it in the bootloader.
  5. Is DP2's kernel patched with "lapic fix"? I have to keep using "cpus=1" at boot time and it results in only 1 core being used as opposed to 4 cores (8 threads) on a Sandy bridge core i7 hp laptop. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Problems with 8600 GT 256 MB

It looks like it is correct so I guess I don't know what else you could try. I think may be your Lion native graphics kexts are corrupted but it is highly unlikely and I am sure you must have tried reinstalling too. 7. You need boot loader or at least 'boot' file from Chameleon. Do you have Dell laptop? Jay
  8. Problems with 8600 GT 256 MB

So it means your system is ok just your graphics enablers, kexts are not working right? Would you mind posting your nVidia graphics injection in your DSDT? Jay
  9. Problems with 8600 GT 256 MB

fmac, That is one hell of a problem haha. I think what you should try to do is, remove all graphics enabling kexts, dsdt, etc. and see if you see your at least looks normal. If it works that way, then at least we know it can be fixed and if it does not work like that, I don't know what else to try. Jay
  10. UPDATED 20.12. GenericBrightness.kext

ivik, thanks for your help. How do I find that out?
  11. UPDATED 20.12. GenericBrightness.kext

Yes ivik, they change in ioreg and sun logo comes up and in sun logo brightness levels change as well. However I haven't yet incorporated your driver. I was thinking if I got @0,pwm-info values right, I could get vanilla brightness. Do you think I should use your driver?
  12. Lion not booting after update

Yes that is correct but if you leave IO80211Family.kext as it is, it gives loading errors on boot as it depends on the other two kexts I mentioned (from Snow Leopard). I hope it is clear now but hey I could be wrong too haha. Jay
  13. UPDATED 20.12. GenericBrightness.kext

Hi, Thanks for all your efforts guys. I have brightness slider and I got it using pwm-info and backlignt-control and built-in properties in my DSDT. However, my brightness slider moves but it does not change the brightness actually. My min, max values are 0x0 and 0x400. It changes my brightness using regular Fn+Up and down keys (No Sun logo though) but not using Fn+Insert and Fn+Numblock where Sun logo comes up and it shows the brightness slider and values change but brightness of display does not change My Graphics card is nVidia 8400m GS 128MB I am guessing it is because values for @0,pwm-info are incorrect. Can you guys point me to the right direction so that I calculate my @0,pwm-info values? Also do you guys know the mac model # like MacbookPro5,1 for the mac which uses this graphics card? may be I can get @0,pwm-info from its deviceproperties.plist file. Thanks again in advance. Jay
  14. Problems with 8600 GT 256 MB

How is your system configured right now? Out of those mentioned which one are you using now? If you can post your DSDT with Graphics section, I might be able to see what's going on. Jay
  15. Lion not booting after update

Replace IOPCIFamily.kext, AppleACPIPlatform.kext, IO80211.kext with ones from your Snow Leopard and it should work. Jay
