  8. ASUS p5kPremium + Kalyway 10.5 NO SOUND

Running same MOBO here and AFAIK the max you can get at the moment is stereo out only. Using the Azalia kext from that big p5k fully working thread. Looks like we will have to wait until Taruga brings out his v2.0 patcher which he says is going to solve our problem.
  9. efi+vanilla kernel

You guys do have Execute Disable Bit on ENABLED (Sometimes also refered to as NX or ED) in your BIOS ??? (CPU Setup screen) Not having this enabled will cause reboot on vanilla kernel. Antoniya001
  10. Hey Taruga... It looks good... WCAPS ok also... you are going for an all default config right ?? Since you have no implementation of some of the extra nodes.... REMINDER TO ALL : Make sure you are in single user mode! This means boot with F8 and choose -S option Taruga : Can we already place/use this codec ? Is the rest of the code already in the kext ? Or is it just the code for detection only ?? Don't want to screw up my install at the moment.. 12. I have found a few but came across different numbers and when v2 comes out I do need a correct dump, yes ??? I have gotten a propper dump from Ubuntu but screwed up my OSX in the process.. Didn't realise it installed Grub automaticly. I hate GRUB.. Killed my EFI... Back to flat image... BTW : Here is the Codec dump from Codec#0 in Ubuntu... FYI : HDAudio.kext -> Kext Loaded succesfully Codec dump Ubuntu : Analog Devices AD1988B Address: 0 Vendor Id: 0x11d4198b Subsystem Id: 0x1043829b Revision Id: 0x100400 These 2 are different then what I've seen from others codec_0.txt
  13. Trying to help here but I also have a 1988B Soundmax on my P5K Premium Wifi and I am also getting the Kext loaded only reply.... But my problem is that I cannot get a linux dump since the knoppix CD also doesn't see the soundcard... Downloading Ubuntu now and hoping that will actually work...
  14. Asus P5W DH Success with EFI and Vannilla

BackupRaid is indeed just a storage drive where I had an image stored of Vanilla OSX retail and the kext/patches I used inside a folder called Leopard.. (2x160GB SATA on Asus EZBackup raid chip) Leopard500 is my drive where I installed Leopard on. (500GB Sata drive) Didn't intend to post as a guide or anything, just as a success story... How to install EFI8 look at the stickied thread : http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=73952 Basicly I installed from an already working Leopard. (You can get that working by using the flatimage method or one of the install disks that are around.) I just wanted to be sure that no traces where inside of OSX of anything but vanilla :-) and to install languages, x11 and all other extras. SMBios kext was from the EFI8 folder NVinjext from http://nvinject.free.fr/ dsmos from netkas IRC / same as where I got EFI8 (www.netkas.org) If EFI isn't booting make sure you select in BIOS the correct HD to be the first bootable HD. Common mistake. Make sure you readout the correct RDisk and Disk info from Disk utility (just rightclick -> info on the install drive) This will tell you RDisk0s2 which is the Disk0 (s2 is partition 2) and UNMOUNT before installing EFI. 15. Endless DVD Reboot - iAtkos

Did you enable the Execute Disable function in the BIOS ??? (Standard set to disable) Sometimes called NX XD or something in other bios types. (in the CPU configuration menu.) This solved many reboot problems in my machine. A.
