  1. Noob here: Will this still work for Mojave, so the same steps everywhere except Mojave instead of Sierra. I'm on Bios 3.61, should I use 3.60 instead? Can I use the same DSDT? This is my system: HP Z800 with BIOS version : 3.61 CPU: x2 6-core X5675 @ 3.06 GHz RAM: 16 GB GFX: Palit Jetstream 670 SSD: Samsung SSD 840 EVO 128GB (& 860 EVO 500GB for Windows 10 & 4 HDDs in Raid in the internal bays) Monitor: Philips 2K (DP)
  2. Is it possible to make it dual boot? If I look at the signature of @xflier I see he is running Sierra 10.12.3 dual boot.
  3. Does someone still use this AOpen MP965-D? I got (the MP965DR version, but it's almost the same) one because it isn't being used anymore (damn this thing is old) I don't know the specs because I haven't hooked it up yet, I guess it's pretty standard. 80GB HDD and standard CPU. But when I lookup the specs, I get this: It says Intel GMA 3100, I thought this videocard doesn't support QE/CI? Could I install vanilla Yosemite, El Capitan or even Sierra on it? (I probably need to upgrade the CPU for Sierra) What guide could I use best? And what kexts or dsdt do I need to use?
  4. Okay thank you, if it's not even possible to raise the FSB on the E8600, then it's easy. Just keep it standard I have the Optiplex 760 SFF btw. One last question. I want to add a second drive (SSD) but I don't want to loose the optical drive. What's the best alternative solution to add a second drive? Can I use the eSata port for this? Is the eSata port bootable? And can this eSata port power the SSD drive? The drive I want to use is an 128GB mSata SSD. I don't think there are eSata <-> mSata cables so I also need to buy an mSata>Sata adapter Should I use a regular eSata cable? Or can I better take one with an additional usb cable (for power I assume): I want a second drive for more storage and I guess it will make it more easy to make it dual-boot (Windows + OS X). But I don't know yet if I want to have OSX on the SSD or Windows. (I don't have the computer here atm, so I have to work with the info I find on internet)

    [How to] Asus P5K-VM guide

What is the best vanilla way to install OS X on this Asus P5K-VM? This is my setup: - Asus P5K-VM - Q6600 - 8GB DDR2 (4x 2GB PC2-6400) - GTX 670 2GB (Palit GeForce GTX 670 JETSTREAM - SATA HDD I don't mind which version of OS X it is. Preferably the latest (Sierra or El Capitan) but older is also not a problem (Yosemite or Mavericks)
  6. I've read you can overclock these Optiplex (I have the 760) with SetFSB. Is there something comparable within OS X to do this? I want to replace the CPU with a E8600 and 8GB of DDR2 (probably PC2-5300 not PC2-6400) I also bought an EAH5450 SILENT/DI/1GD3(LP)
  7. The photo's aren't working anymore. Can the TS fix them or does someone made a backup of them? I Would love to try this. Does it matters what size I use? 80mm, 120mm, etc. And does it matter if you use 2pin, 3pin or 4pin?
  8. I have two LP graphics cards (don't know the type at the moment) but both didn't fit because the heatsink was too large (both were passive). That's why I was wondering which one I should take considering the size and airflow condition
  9. I have an Optiplex 760 SFF (Small Form Factor) and I want to buy a graphics card for it, but I don't know which HD5450 is the best choice by perfomance/size/airflow/etc. I have the following options: https://www.megekko.nl/product/1962/173720/PCI-Express-AMD/Asus-HD5450-SL-HM1GD3-L-V2 * https://www.megekko.nl/product/1962/100138/PCI-Express-AMD/Asus-EAH5450-SILENT-DI-1GD3 * https://www.megekko.nl/product/1962/950335/PCI-Express-AMD/MSI-R5450-MD1GD3H-LP * https://www.megekko.nl/product/1962/173608/PCI-Express-AMD/VGA-Sapphire-Radeon-HD5450-1GB-DDR3-Silent The ones with the * have a low profile bracket. The other two I don't know yet. I just send the shop a mail with this question. What is the best card to buy for my optiplex and to run OSx? edit: seller replied
  10. (I have the Optiplex 760 SFF) Okay I managed to destroy the installation of both haha. I could make Windows 8 (or server 2012 R2 in my case, but it is essentially the same) boot while Yosemite installed. Then it boots from the partition where Windows is installed to (and not the EFI partition) But of course Yosemite will only boot when I use an USB-drive. I can make Yosemite boot with clover, then it boots boots with clover from the EFI partition. Yosemite works fine then but Windows won't boot. I can get the Windows partition in the clover list (when I put scan with Clover Configurator to legacy) but it won't boot Windows cause it will say the MBR is broken or faulty or something like that. I have tried hours to make it both bootable. But now I did something and I can't get Windows to boot again haha.. And I've put so much effort in it to make Server 2012 R2 usable for desktop use, lol. Tried all the fixboot/fixmbr/scanos/rebuildbcd and even the bootsect.exe /NT60 stuff but nothing. Linux boot repair also didn't fix the problem. So my question is, is here anyone who got this Optiplex 760 working with dual boot? I only have place for one harddisk (SFF). I also don't have the \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\bootmgfw.efi, I guess this is because of the lack of UEFI support? What happens if I manually add this file? I used GUID like mentioned in the guide, why do we need to use this and not MBR? Would chameleon or something make it possible to use dualboot?
  11. thanks, this worked to boot osx without the usb-drive. But now clover won't show the option to boot Windows haha. How can I add the Windows to clover?
  12. @TimeWalker75a I now have some time to try things out. I have an Optiplex 760 running Yosemite 10.10.3 so I can make a bootable stick. I have a few questions: 1. Can I just use the same method as I used with my Optiplex 760?http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/302877-guide-mavericks-1010x-dell-optiplex-780-760/ But instead of his Clover files, I'll use your Clover files from your guide. That way I don't need to have two USB-drives 2. What custom clover options should I use for the L502x to install to the USB-installer? And a third question what's more a general question. I first made an USB-disk with a Mac Mini following the Optiplex guide. Partitioning the USB-disk with GUID and one partition and in the end install Clover to the disk. When I did there was a EFI partition in the end to copy the Clover files to. I tried to repeat these steps on my Optiplex running Yosemite 10.10.3 and an other USB-disk, but every time I tried this, no EFI partition was made. Is this the fault of my hackintosh? My usb-drive? Or something else? edit: Okay the EFI partition is made, but Yosemite won't show it. I can see the EFI partition when I plug it into a Windows computer. How can I make this EFI partition visable in OS X? I found how I can mount the EFI partition. I made a stick to try it out but have the lack of time to test it now. I'll report back later when I have tried it.
  13. How can you make a dual boot? I followed the guide here but except of 1 partition, I made 2. And I installed OS X to the first one. After that I followed all the steps and all worked fine and Yosemite booted as I wanted it to boot after the post install clover installation (8. Installing Clover on you Hackintosh) But now I've installed Windows Server 2012 R2 to the second partition and of course it will only boot Windows at first. I can still boot Yosemite with an usb-drive. But After fully installing Windows I wanted to install clover again and I followed these steps again: But it is still booting Windows Server 2012 R2, I don't get a clover bootscreen. How can I install this clover dual boot again?
  14. Okay nice, I thought Windows would be unbootable when you switch from bios type. But you have this written in your guide: How would it look like when I install Windows in legacy on my main SSD and EFI OSX on my caddy HDD? (bios switched back to UEFI mode) Then I won't get a menu where I can choose between Windows and OSX? But instead I need to close the Clover bootloader in order to start Windows? Oke good to hear. Do you have the modded bios and UEFI enable? (So installed Windows with UEFI disabled and after installation enabled UEFI again) Or does Chameleon not require UEFI? Sorry for all the questions, I really appreciate your help
