  1. You probably need this IOPCIFamily, install with Kext Helper for Yosemite and reboot. Theres also a Clover patch as well for it. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/302075-amd-yosemite-kernel-testing-for-help-use-the-help-topic/page-6?do=findComment&comment=2083624
  2. [AMD] General Chat, Questions & Answers

You don't need to patch AppleACPIPlatform since you are not rolling back but using a patched current version of IOPCIFamily Someone already patched it, available here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/302075-amd-yosemite-kernel-testing-for-help-use-the-help-topic/?p=2083624
  3. Cinebench R15 (opengl) Yosemite 10.10

Here is my score with FX-8320 at 4.5Ghz and Sapphire Radeon R9 270x Toxic
  4. I have this problem as well on Mavericks, however if you look in the Mavericks thread there is a Clover patch for IOPCIFamily that's works just as well as replacing the kexts. I am currently using this on Yosemite and it works really well. 5. Since there will be kernels released soon just a few findings so far using Clover and a kernel which I can not give out: If you required an IOPCIFamily patch, rollback, or the custom kext requiring msibase=0x90 in Mavericks, the following Clover patch posted in the Mavericks thread works well on Yosemite, make sure to add it in a text editor not in Clover Configurator, more info is in the Mavericks thread: Tested Apps: iLife Apps, Photoshop CC 2014, Lightroom 5, Portal 2 <key>KextsToPatch</key> <array> <dict> <key>Comment</key> <string>Second area</string> <key>Find</key> <data> vmAAAAC6EAA= </data> <key>Name</key> <string>IOPCIFamily</string> <key>Replace</key> <data> vkAAAAC6EAA= </data> </dict> <dict> <key>Comment</key> <string>First area</string> <key>Find</key> <data> vo8AAAC6cAA= </data> <key>Name</key> <string>IOPCIFamily</string> <key>Replace</key> <data> vm8AAAC6kAA= </data> </dict> </array>
  6. I had the grey screen and spinning cursor also, the only thing that will fix it for me on 10.9.3 and 10.9.2 was to rollback IOPCIFamily.kext and AppleACPIPlatform.kext to 10.9.0.
  7. Using 10.9.2 and the new kernel, I also get stuck at grey screen and either the cursor or spinning beach ball. If I roll back AppleACPIPlatform.kext and IOPCIFamily.kext from 10.9.0, I can boot perfectly. After I changed those kexts, I added kext for my network card and graphics and everything seems to work well so far other than having to roll back those kext. 8. I've been playing around with the new Flash "Gala" beta for Macs, with GPU accel for H264, and it works pretty good. 720p is perfect, 1080p is still a bit much, but this is the first beta so I bet it will improve much like Flash 10.1 for Windows has. You can get it at http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashplayer10/gala/ and I use as my test video. When acceleration is working, a little white box willbe visible in the upper left corner. Perhaps the plugin could be included with the installer to make HD flash work out of the box. Remember, this only works with the NVIDIA 9400m, 330m, and 320m.
  9. Is there anyway to add the 4850 to this? Currently on 10.6.3 I have to use a DVI-to-VGA in the second DVI port or its just a black screen when the video loads. Device IDs below, thanks! Vendor: ATI (0x1002) Device ID: 0x9442
  10. Did a fresh install of 10.6 with Mowgli's BootCD and HF5, used boot cd to install from retail disc, used boot cd to load after install, installed 10.6.3 combo and then HF5 before reboot, loaded up from reboot just fine, speed step works, but cpu speed is reported incorrectly in ATM. Moving VoodooPowerMini to SLE fixed that, moved SleepEnabler as well. So far everything seems great. Good job everyone!
  11. I have been experimenting with VoodooBattery instead of the Apple one in /E/E. It seems to work well, its made to work off of the vanilla CPUPM, so it may be more accurate since we've got to this point. Its available at http://www.superhai.com/darwin.html Also, as stated by others, adding VoodooPowerMini.kext back to /S/L/E, CPU speed is reported correctly in About This Mac, and cpu-x reads it correctly along with speedstep working in it.
  12. HP Mini 311 - Support Questions/Requests PART II

I have discovered that an app called CoolBook works with the native AppleIntelCPUPM. It shows the correct voltages and TEMPS!! The only thing is that it reads default cpu speeds instead of the overclocked, perhaps the author can fix this. Otherwise, it appears that the non-free version even allows tweaking of speedstep, also verifies that speedstep works. Let me know if it works for you.
  13. Speedstep works great for me, goes from 50% to %100 speed based on usage, laptop is cooler as well since i overclock.
  14. HP Mini 311 - Support Questions/Requests PART II

I installed a fresh HF5, replaced the DSDT with this, changed a few kexts on the EFI partition and vanilla CPUPM works great!!! Finally speedstep!! Confirmed speedstep with MSRTools. Listed below is my kexts. /E/E - AppleACPIBatteryManager, CPUIDOverride, CPUIDSymbols, CPUinjector, fakesmc /S/L/E - VoodooHDA 2.6 from earlier in the thread, and PS2 kexts. You guys rock!!! EDIT: Does anyone else have About This Mac/System Profiler read the cpu wrong? For some reason the OS read the multiplier at 12.5x so it shows 2.3Ghz instead of 2.2 (overclocked). This happened with default HF5 also, so its not a CPUPM problem, MSR Tools shows the correct CPU speed, so its cosmetic only, is there any fix for this? Also I rebranded my Dell 1510, and now it shows up as a full Airport Extreme.
