  1. Hi, I followed this guide and I'm now booting with Clover!! Quick question, do your front USB3.0 ports work? Is there an extra kext that's needed for these ports? I thought the patched DSDT would fix it, however it hasn't. Thanks, Ed.

Thank you for the support drumz. Sorry, what is EFI partition :S.. is there a guide somewhere I can use?
  3. 4870 and Snow Leopard with OpenCL Help

It seems it worked for you... I'll search for ATY,Motmot. Also. What I didn't do was install through boot-132. I do have a legal disc, so I will try that method later. However, I'm not sure I've done this : "I guess i set my uuid or "Universal Unique Identifier" to the 3 places you are supposed to" Although, after installing, I did patch my DSDT with a program. One other thing, after a couple of minutes, my screen seems to artefact, any movies or pictures, the have small black dots on them. Any moving images and its the same, prescribe me . Update, just downloaded a file for boot 132. It says "Add EFI strings and graphics mode to provided boot.plist". the boot plist looks like this: <dict> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>-arch=1386 -x32</string> <key>SMBIOSdefaults</key> <string>No</string> <key>Rescan</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>device-properties</key> <string>INSERT EFI STRING HERE</string> <key>Instant Menu</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>INSERT GRAPHICS MODE HERE</string> <key>Legacy Logo</key> <string>Yes</string> </dict> </plist> What do i fill in in the "insert EFI string here" and "insert graphics mode here". Thank you

Thanks for reply. When you first installed Snow Leopard, did you install any other packages to make the ATI 4870. At the moment, it seems to "run" ok from install. just no OpenCL. Also, in "about this mac" and "more info", my "graphics/display" say "ATI Radeon HD 4890", while it actually is a 4870. Could this be the problem? Quick Update. Just added the graphics enabler to com.apple.boot.plist. Still no success.
  5. 4870 and Snow Leopard with OpenCL Help

Thank you so much for your reply . With your 4870, when you watched movies, were there lots of dots appearing on the screen? And at all did you experience graphics crashes? (like everything frozen except mouse, until reboot). Also, i forgot to add "graphicsEnabler key string set to Y". Where do I add this I've got hidden files and folders enabled. Thank you.
  6. I've recently got Snow Leopard running. It works with an ATi 4870 with 1920x1200 resolution, and hardware graphics. However, OpenCL does NOT work. The OpenCL benchmark freezes PC, iMovie Freezes PC, Magic Garageband Freezes PC. For a strange reason, I can't find anywhere a fix for this. Here are my specs: Q9550 core 2 quad Maximus 2 Formula ATI Palit 4870 1gb DDR5 Im currently using Chameleon2 RC3 with PC EFI 10.4.1 . I keep hearing however, change the Dev-id, how do I do this? Any others experiencing the same thing, or people who have got OpenCL to work on 4870, please comment, any suggestions, post them up! Thank you
  7. 4870 and OSX 10.5.8

Hi. Hopefully today someone can help me I've got an Intel Mac running on my PC with 10.5.8. I've got sound and internet working, now all I need is my 4870 running smoothly. For some strange reason, with all the deleting and reinstalling drivers for the card, I do have native resolution. But, for some reason (could you hint why) when I install the drivers people recommend, I reboot, it starts up, but the screen darkens, like there is no output. Can someone give me hints or maybe a tutorial on how to get there 4870 running on 10.5.8 with QE/CI. thank you! Some relevant information you might need: Ati Hd4870 1Gb Maximus II Formula Q9550 C2Q
  8. Hi. I've recently (kind of) successfully installed 10.5.7 of iDeneb. It gets past all of the vebrose things. However, when it goes to that screen upon welcome, both of my monitors don't recieve any image, and then sticks to a black screen after 5-10 seconds. I have a HD4870, I installed the drivers from the iDeneb DVD. Any help possible?
  9. Hello. after hours of tweaking around with Iatkos 5i, Somehow, out of a miracle, it finally worked. Now that I can boot it with "cpus=1" flag, I want to start tweaking to get the Internet working. I've heard about "Kexts", which are needed to make these types of things to work. To start with, this is the relevant information for my system: Q9550 Maximus II Formula 88SE61xx Marvell internet thingie. HD4870... blah Now, I'm a COMPLETE "noob". I don't have any experience other that installing OSX on PC. I have found this : http://www.kexts.com/index.php?controller=...ext=1&kid=1 . Is this the right thing? What do I do with it. Thank you!
