    Installation Guide for 10.10 DP1 - USB

Have the same problem. I deleted in boot args "kext-dev-mode=1" and insert boot "dart=0"; and boot in single mode.
  2. Followed every detailed instruction by the letter but still the USB installer won't boot at all. I wonder what I am doing wrong but I tried 5x, so what's up with this!

Dell XPS 8700 haswell system - 10.9 Mavericks

I have managed to get installed OS X 10.9.3(first at 10.9.2) working on my Dell XPS 8700, Intel i7, 16gB ram, Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 with 1536 Video Ram. I used all the kext mentioned in this topic except: 1.) Audio doesn't work, my audio is a SB Recon3D PCI-e. Solution: Added VoodooHDA.kext (trashing AppleHDA on S/L/E) and leaving HDAEnabler1.kext too! 2.) Internal Wireless doesn't work, Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235. Solution: Installed a USB Wi-Fi N 3. No restart/shutdown yet. Does anybody had a solution for item #3 (restart & shutdown fix)? Thanks for any help. Update: June 4, 2014 1) Restart/Shutdown miraCUOUSLY works but takes time to about 30s to restart and/or shutdown. As long it works, will investigate why in the next chapter. 2) Memory card reader also works. No Kext. it just works. :-) 3) Will try to install OS X Yosemite but I doubt it'll work. Watch in this channel/forum. Update: June 23, 2014, 9:40am 1. I was successful in installing OS X Yosemite DP1 (now DP2) using the Clover method describe in: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/298521-easy-yosemite-1010-usb-installer-updated/ although I have to use a USB drive (as first boot) to boot the OS. At this moment, it is stable, everything works except as described from previous OS X Mavericks installation (above).
  4. I don't believe he has a successful OS X Lion installation!. Just ego?
  5. Try to add: <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>y</string> to com.apple.Boot.plist in your Extra/Extension folder
  6. There's nothing wrong, repeat, there's nothing wrong when it ends with "PCI configuration begin"(that is how it is with this new Chamelion boot/OS X Lion); just watch your HD disk activity LED as it continues to boot. IF there is no HD disk activity LED lit through the boot process then the installation was not successful. Normally, you'll see the offending kexts and debug display (in verbose mode -v) before it even begins with the "PCS configuration begin" display. "PCI configuration begin" means you have the first stage of the boot process.

Fully stuck at apple logo screen

You will not see the spinning wheel (busy) under it after it passed thru the "PCI config begin"; you just have to watch your HD disk activity LED as it continues to boot OS X Lion. If you don't have the HD disk activity LED lit, then you have a problem.

Lion install partition hanging on boot

It looks like you need NullCPUPowerManagement kext in your Extra/Extension folder. Try it.

    Upgrading to Lion

Ideally, you should and must only replace the non-working kexts because upgraded kexts are fixed kexts from the last version.

    Lion to dvd?

First, you cannot install OS X Lion on a SL 10.6.3; SL has to be and have to be 10.6.6 or higher, that is the OS X Lion requirement.

Installed on MBP. How to upgrade hackint0sh?

Yes, you can install OS X Lion; it is a seamless upgrade. But to keep it safe (they say!); (1) Add another OS X partition on your drive (have enough space to clone your Snow Leopard partition). (2) Clone your working OS X Snow Leopard to the new partition. (3) Get OS Lion upgrade from App Store and upgrade OS X Lion to whichever partition you select. Tarahhhhh!, peanut butter sandwiches ... :-)

Lion wont let me set up!

Do not select "Continue" but instead cancel.
  13. My suggestion is to add another OS X partition in your drive if you have enough space and go from there to install OS X Lion.
  14. albert E

    Did I miss something?

Yes, you can only install on Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or newer.

    Upgrading to Lion

At least 10.6.6 because that is when the App Store was implemented. My suggestion, install OS X Lion and debug (use the wi-fi kexts that worked on 10.6.3) your wireless from here.
