  1. [GUIDE]Dell Studio 1558

Hi Shirosaki, and others..... The problem with the cooling can be solved when you update to 10.6.7, it runs much smoother. The battery can be fixed with this kext: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=187041 I'll still trying to get the sleep function to work properly, when you close the lid (laptop display) it does go to sleep but when you open the lid again, the fans and everything works except the display remains black. that's an issue i still want to solve. btw... I did the install with the original dvd (10.6.3) and this boot cd from nawcom: http://blog.nawcom.com/?p=446 Well actually with the usb version (see the post at nawcom) and the dvd restored to the usb stick. If anyone has some news about this laptop, please post your solutions to make things even better.
  2. Dell Studio 1558 i3 m330 working under Snow Leopard 10.6.6

If you have the same graphic card as mine dell studio 1558 (Ati Mobility Radeon 4570) Yes it will. I've found this solution a few days ago so i haven't test all of it yet but as far is i now the multimedia-keys don't work. To update to the latest version just use the apple update program. You can find it under system preferences in the dock.

There's a solution for your display here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=218706 Works great, accept the apple in the top menu turns green. You can use all the kexts and the DSDT file from that post (download the Final_10.6.6_kexts_R2.zip file in post 36) I'm trying to get things better for our 1558 laptop but for now almost anything works. to get NTFS write support you can use this guide: http://www.hackintosh.nl/handleidingen-tip...en-op-os-x.html (it's in dutch, so use google translate) Or http://macntfs-3g.blogspot.com/ Succes!!!!!!
  4. 10.6 retail on Acer 5738g ATI 4570

Yo Vips, I have a Dell Studio 15 with the same video card. I'm waiting for several months for any support for this card but the problem is you will only get a resolution of 1024x768 since it only boots in save mode. Try booting with -x in the chameleon bootloader, this will get you trough the grey screen at the end of boot. (-x stands for save mode and -v is verbose mode) For more information on this video card see this topic http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=171596 Lose the hope you will get this working soon, nobody has
