I'm also experiencing the same problems with my ASUS GeForce 550Ti GTX.Blue screen on changing resolution, artefacts after waking from display sleep (or not waking at all), resuming from computer sleep doesn't work. Had no problem with my now almost dead GeForce 8800GTS, but foolishly read somewhere that the card (above) worked OOB and bought it a week ago so I'm thinking of going back to Lion for now. EDIT: replaced the 550 Ti GTX with a 640 GT and everything is right as rain.

Thanks for your guide JD! I've been putting off going from 10.5.8 to 10.6 for a while and decided to give it a try. Your guide worked flawlessly! As I have an nVidia GeForce 8800GTS 512, I removed the EVOenabler.kext as mentioned above by Ibananov and after using my own dsdt.aml, edited the com.apple.Boot.plist with this additional entry: <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>y</string> Everything works perfectly!

I just updated from iAtkos 10.5.5 using Software Update to 10.5.6 and my USB devices no longer mounted until I replaced the kexts linked in this thread, thanks very much! The kexts are located in /System/Library/Extensions/ Unzip the kext files and then use Terminal (I find this easier than drag'n'drop with authentication) to delete and copy the files across. To delete the kexts, make sure you have super user access "sudo -s", then: rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBMassStorage.kext Assuming you unzipped your files onto your Desktop and your name is yehia, to copy the new files: cp -R /Users/yehia/Desktop/IOSUBFamily.kext /System/Library/Extensions/ cp -R /Users/yehia/Desktop/IOSUBMassStorage.kext /System/Library/Extensions/ It might help to remove the extensions cache: rm /System/Library/Extensions.mkext After you've done that you'll need to repair permissions using Disk Utlity and reboot. I hope that helps.

The default kernel is mach_kernel If you have another kernel in the root directory, to start with it just type the file name at the Darwin prompt (press F8 at boot). eg. mach_kernel.backup will initiate that kernel.

Thanks so much for that! I've an Acer TravelMate 4202WLMi and after I took out the 3945ABG card, replacing it with a Dell DW 1390 (with pin 20 masked) here I am in Leopard, wirelessly writing this! I basically cut a thin strip of electrical tape and stuck it over pin 20

Works awesome on my system, really enjoying the movie recording function too I installed it using the CDs that came with the game, they're PC and Mac OS. The mouse I use is my Intellimouse, give it a go!

I think you mean the P5K-SE right? I have the same issue, so I'm back to running 10.5.1 in the meantime... I wonder if we should be using a different kernel? EDIT: Since making this post I thought I'd give a fresh install of Aitkos 1.0i with Kalyway 10.5.2 combo update a go... and you know what? It worked perfectly hehe. I think some kexts I had before or some other things must have interferred. Just don't replace the kernel and you should be good to go.

If you do a Google search for your laptop you should be able to find FSB information. The easiest way to get to tell the kernel you FSB is from the Darwin boot screen (I've found, not tried the boot.plist method yet). Just at the prompt where you can normally change the partition to boot from, type "FSB=xxx" and enter at the OS X partition (assuming you're dual boot or more).

This has to do with the FSB speed. Find out what you FSB speed is and divide it by 4, then at boot use: FSB=133 as a boot option. I've mine set that way and sound now works fine.

I had this problem, but resolved it by getting a crack from the green demon... its 29.27MB size (should help you find what I'm talking about). Its something that you drag'n'drop the apps into to patch them.
