Chameleon Wizard - Utility for Chameleon.

Worked like charm! I just needed to reinstall Chameleon due to my Win7 SP1 update and your app arrived at perfect time to save me a manual installation. Thank you for your good work! rDrG
  2. Juanerson, does your battery meter work flawlessly (no KP) now that you are using AppleACPIBatteryManager.kext? Did you apply any DSDT code for making it more compatible? Thanks in advance for your reply!

For the screenshot thing you can use the files from Leopard (/usr/sbin/screencapture) just copy it, to the same folder on SL (don't forget to backup) Regarding the SL themes check these links, http://browse.deviantart.com/customization...s/macutilities/ http://www.macthemes.net/forum/viewforum.php?id=2 http://www.macthemes.net/forum/viewforum.php?id=8
  4. I can confirm that Nobb1x's kext for BCM 5787M works on my laptop after updating to 10.6.4. I just followed the instructions for UPDATE 2 on the first post of this topic. Thxs!!

    Intel GMA4500 / GL 4x Express Chipset

Hi everyone, I want to share little my experience about the X4500 on a hackintosh. First of all I’m running the X4500 (2a42) on SL 10.6.4, with full resolution support and also native brightness control. As bboyg said I do had some problems with the X3100 modified kexts on 10.6.3 and 10.6.4. The problem was that in those versions Apple changed the X3100 kexts, so they I needed to patch the kexts again to make them work properly. In order to do that I simply used the bash created by Tienneke that adds your device id into the X3100 vanilla kexts (that bash was created for 10.5.8 but it works flawlessly for me on 10.6.3 and 10.6.4). One more thing, if you are running a resolution higher than 1366 x 768 you will need to add the dual link hack on your DSDT. My notebook has a 1440x900 LCD so I was getting the blue/grey screen issue when I tried to use the patched X3100 kexts before applying the dual link hack.

Try to boot on 64bits, if it works then the problem is on the patched kexts. Remove the modified X3100 kexts and reboot your system.

    PowerManagement.bundle needed 10.6.3

Just download 10.6.3 combo update from Apple's site and extract the PM.bundle using Pacifist
  11. I used the same distro on my hackintosh. Make sure that your DSDT.AML file is loading correctly. Are you using charmeleon boot loader? (use "Wait=y" as boot flag to check it if the DSDT.AML is loading). also I'm using the GMA laptop hack on my DSDT, to get the modified X3100 kexts working. Maybe this mod is also needed for brightness control. One more thing, check my edit for this topic, it may help you to avoid USB/EHCI problems.
  12. Hi everyone, after doing some research and trying maaany different non-working fixes I was able to achieve the brightness control on my HP laptop. I got this DSDT fix using the DSDT guide posted by Silencers (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=211705). He has a Lenovo T60p that uses an ATI FireGL V5200 with 256MB, so if I got his fix working on my X4500 (0x2a42 rev 07) so I guess that this is pretty universal, but be warn… with DSDT mods you can’t never know if it will work before testing it in your machine. Anyway… what I did was just adding this code in my “Scope (_SB)” block after the “_INI” method (Method (_INI….)) Device (PNLF) { Name (_HID, EisaId ("APP0002")) Name (_CID, "backlight") Name (_UID, 0x0A) Name (_STA, 0x0B) } Like this Scope (_SB) { Method (_INI, 0, NotSerialized) {... } Device (PNLF) { Name (_HID, EisaId ("APP0002")) Name (_CID, "backlight") Name (_UID, 0x0A) Name (_STA, 0x0B) }} After that I just compiled my DSDT, installed it on my /Extra folder and rebooted. After rebooting, I got my brightness control working! And even now I can see the brightness control on the display settings. Good luck with this, I hope you find this useful. EDIT: After talking with different people it seems that sometimes this fix needs to be places under the USB/EHCI devices due to the USB may stop working properly. Also this fix will make the clamshell sleep start working, so if you don't want your laptop to sleep on lid close install insomnia kext

What's your KP? Post it... I don't think that it's related with the boot file or the X3100 kext. Are you booting with the modified Charmeleon RC4 by Deviato? Link -> http://deviato.wordpress.com/2010/02/24/ch...-gma-version-2/ I would try adding "Intel X3100 Laptop hack" on the PCIE section, if your internal LCD is not recognized don't forget to modified "AAPL01,EDID" with your own EDID. After that try the modified kext and see if they are working, if not, try deleting the GFX0 method from PCIE section and adding it on your AGP section.

Jamie, the modified x3100 kexts just work on 32bits that's why you need to specify the kernel flag arch=i386 to get them load. Regarding of how to tell your system to always boot on 32 bits, just add this: <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>arch=i386</string> on your "com.apple.Boot" file (you will find it on your root directory or in /Extra). Hope you find this useful. dying4004, don't ask me why, but I needed to specify my resolution in both boot.plist files (the one from the root and the one in /Extra) to get my native resolution, maybe that's also your problem..... BTW, in my case I wasn't able to load the x3100 modified kexts (always getting the blue - black screen issue) until I added the "dual link" method on GFX0 in my DSDT, that's a known problem with screen with big resolutions (like 1440x900).

What about faking the Intel HD device ID on DSDT? This may lead us to sth....
