  1. Hi all I have my Audigy 2 ZS PCI working in Lion. But one question about the post quoted above... What the heck does "copied kext on /S/L/E mean? Is it supposed to say "Copy kext TO S/L/E?" (the kext was already at this location after I ran the installer package in my case...) I want to clarify in case somebody else is confused with it... (I did not need to do this step btw... it worked fine right after the package install.) Thx Edit... I just realized that I don't have any input options... Has anybody figured this out?
  2. SMBios - Can programs crash if wrong one used?

Well I must say that your answer was not only fast but VERY concise and informative. I have installed Mactracker and am investigating now... So I have a 3 ghz core 2 duo so i could use iMac 10,1... But what do I do if I have a graphics card that was never in any mac? i.e., Geforce 8800 gtx.. Very nice reply and great info. You are a star! Thx
  3. Hello forum peeps... Been searching (on the forums) for quite awhile now and can't seem to find an answer to my question. BTW the forums are HUGE and it's very hard to find an answer to a question that you don't know how to phrase and the search query's seem to produce completely random and unrelated topics. so please don't flame me if the answer is in 100 posts in the forums Anyway the topic post pretty much says it all. I am using Chameleon Wizard to configure my boot loader and I picked a SMBios from it to install in my system. Is there a relationship between what SMBios I choose and system stability? Or better yet program compatibility? Some advice would be greatly appreciated! Thx
  4. Hi there. I have the same board and also a geforce 8800gtx. I used the Kakewalk installer and a spare 16 gb flash drive to install. It could not have been easier. With exception of sleep, everything works. Not sure if i'm allowed to post a URL but you can download it here... http://www.kakewalk.se/download/
  5. DSDT Auto patcher - Gone?

Thx Noam AA The "-v wait=y" at the chameleon prompt did not work for me. However I discovered that the is a button on the app Chameleon Wizard called "bdmesg" that has a long list of text (maybe information about the boot process???) IDK... anyway I found an entry and it does show a custom DSDT being used, as well as what is in my Extra folder... Here is a snippet from it... Customizing SystemID with : 00000000-0000-0000-0000-001fd080b5e8 Read HFS+ file: [hd(0,2)/Extra/DSDT.aml] 17593 bytes. ACPI table not found: SSDT.aml FADT: Restart Fix applied! FADT: Using custom DSDT! Read HFS+ file: [hd(0,2)/Extra/Extensions/ALC8xxHDA.kext/Contents/Info.plist] 145104 bytes. Read HFS+ file: [hd(0,2)/Extra/Extensions/ElliottForceLegacyRTC.kext/Contents/Info.plist] 1666 bytes. Read HFS+ file: [hd(0,2)/Extra/Extensions/FakeSMC.kext/Contents/Info.plist] 3940 bytes. Read HFS+ file: [hd(0,2)/Extra/Extensions/JMicronATA.kext/Contents/Info.plist] 2041 bytes. Read HFS+ file: [hd(0,2)/Extra/Extensions/NullCPUPowerManagement.kext/Contents/Info.plist] 1498 bytes. So I am using a custom DSDT... Now if i could only get sleep working... To be quite honest I have no desire to even use the sleep function.... It just drives me bonkers that I CAN'T use it... lol
  6. DSDT Auto patcher - Gone?

Hi MaLd0n Thanks for the DSDT. Wondering though, if it's not too much trouble, my system still won't sleep. Actually, I've never had sleep work on any version of OS X. Forgot to mention before that my motherboard is an GA-EP45-UD3P if that helps any. Again thanks for your time and effort. Also for anybody out there who may read this, How do I know if my system is actually using the DSDT? A lot of the stuff I read is kinda over my head and I am mostly flying blind here... Thx
  7. DSDT Auto patcher - Gone?

Can you help me out with mine? So how come you stopped the DSDT auto patcher anyway? Thx send_me.zip
  8. Thanks for the guide. I followed it to the letter and now have an awesome HTPC. I'm running XBMC and PS3 Media Server. Everything works including sleep. I am running 64 bit kernel. I have overclocked mine to 2.01Ghz by just increasing the FSB to 667. So far it's been stable. (I installed the heatsink fan!) After an upgrade from 10.6.2 to 10.6.3 my audio stoppped working. Installing the AppleHDA.kext from the 10.6.2 distro with B7 Kext helper fixed my problem. I am using optical digital out to my sound receiver as most of my media is DVD to ISO rips and I wanted surround sound. I did have an annoying video stutter problem but I found out that because my ESata drive is formatted NTFS OSX only had read only access and it was very slow. Installing macfuse 2.1.7 (Custom build for 10.6.3) and NTFS-3g fixed this problem. http://caurea.org/2009/09/15/unofficial-ma...-64bit-kernels/ I get a horrible XBench score of 44 but seeing as how this plays my movies perfect and I can surf the web and what not... Who cares!. Thanks again!
