  1. First of all, I messed up why I typed the graphics card. It is a hd 6770m not a 5670m. This card was used in some iMac and Macbook Pros so it is actually kind of supposed natively. I fixed this issue. I did it by upgrading to 10.9 (and using a patched DSDT that I had on my 10.8 install anyway). It is working like a charm. I think the issue was with the Intel 3000 and other than updating, I don't know how to fix it.
  2. I am having a strange issue with my laptop (a HP DV6 6190us) that has a ATI Radeon 5670m and intel 3000 graphics. It will be black until it is plugged into an external monitor, then both screens start working. I can then unplug the external monitor and the laptop monitor will continue to work. Does anyone have any ideas what might be happening and how I could fix it? Extra info: In the system information, the Radeon card only shows up as "Display" (not Radeon 5670m like i would expect)
  3. MSI GT627-218US (MS-1651)

Just as a conformation. I followed these instructions exactly and it worked perfectly. Everything except sleep and wifi works correctly. I ordered a BROADCOM BCM94321MC wifi adapter and stuck it in the other mini-pcie slot and attached the two other antennas that are in the laptop, booted back into mac and now have wifi. (I also have two wifi card working in linux and windows which is good, but could draw more power)
  4. RADEON HD 5670

Hi, I have OS X 10.6.0 up and running for almost half a year now with a 9600 GT. The 9600 broke and I had to send it in for repair a few weeks ago, XFX ended up replacing it with a RADEON HD 5670 (which is technically a better card) . I am wondering if there are Kext available for this card, or did XFX screw me over? (I have look around and haven't found any) Thanks.
  5. Hey, I recently cloned snow leopard to a different drive today, becuase the one it was on was not the one I wanted it on. I booted it up a few time on the new drive and it worked like a charm. I decided to go ahead and delete the original snow leopard because I figured that it worked like it was supposed to, then proceed to reboot (I did this just to check that it still worked). At first I got an error because the computer had been booting from the old hard drive, not the new one, and there was no longer a bootloader on the old drive. I changed it to the new drive, and got the same error (I used gparted to check to make sure the boot flags were correct, which they were). I tried booting into windows and using easybcd to get into snow leopard to reinstall chameleon, which didn't work. I then proceeded to boot my leopard install disk and try to install chameleon form that (it had some I could under the alternate boot loaders thing in the customization thing, and that didn't work. Is there an easy way to install chameleon from windows (which I can get into if needed) or linux (I can boot a live CD), or from a CD or flash drive, or is there a bootloader I can use to get into snow leoapard that will work from a CD or flash drive? After that, the only option I have is to waist a couple of hours reinstalling leopard on a different partition and using the boot loader from that to get into snow leopard.
  6. This seems like it might be the problem. I was looking at the snowosx and it says that it doesn't support pentium D, but does support Pentium dual cores. Do you have any links on how to do this? because I googled it and didn't get anything.
  7. Hi, I am having a problem with the installation of snow leopard. If I try using anything( usb flash drives that I created according to various guides, usb flash drives of the original snow leopard disk, disk created from using guides, disk created from the original disk, SnowOSX disk) to install SL, when I boot, the initial loading page flashes for a second, and then the computer restarts. I tried -f and nothing happened. I installed snow leopard from leopard (working) on a different partition, and it successfully installed but it did the same thing. I ran it in -f mode, it went for a little while longer, but then did the same thing. I ran it in -v mode with a camera (both the snow leopard install and the installation disk/usb) so I could see the last thing that happened (it went extremely fast), and the last line was "starting darwin x86" then pc rebooted. My computer is a hp m7360 m7360n data sheet p5lp-le emery mobo Intel Pentium D 2.8ghz (I have the sound alc882 and Ethernet Intel 82562 working in leopard) This computer is dual booted (MBR) (chameleon 1, also tried with v2 rc2 and rc4) with windows 7 RC and leopard, and has a partition ready for snow leopard. Do you have any idea what might be wrong? and how I could fix it. :~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~EDIT:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~ :~:~:~:~:~:~:~: This problem came from the fact this PC was a pentium D. I used instructions that were recommended below in order to change the kernel (very easy), then I had to use a few Kexts to fix some other problems (a couple of kernel panics, and that CMOS reset problem that I was supposed to be able to fix with the DSDT [might have but I recompiled the DSDT and added the kext at the same time]. I got audio working with voodooHDA, and the video working with an EFI string. I haven't got the Ethernet working yet, but that is at the bottom of my list now because it automatically recognized the PCI wireless card that showed no signs of working in leopard. It is working great.
  8. Hey, I have a M7360n that I found in the garbage of all places that worked perfrectly (almost perfectly, one cd drive was broken and it was missing the hard drive) I got a new hard drive and a new video card. I decided since I already had a good laptop, this would be a great pc to play around with. I installed windows 7, kunbunut and mac 10.5.6. I had to use 9.40 StageSNU Universal Kernal because without it, it wouldn't boot. Other than that I didn't use any drivers because I couldn't decide what i needed. I installed the progam that allowed it to read ntsf, and macosx86 tool utility. It is running, but with lots of problems. First is the video card, I have a nvidia 9600 gt can't get it to run in anything higher than 1024x768 even thought my monitor is 1080p; it also seems like it isn't working because it is slow while scrolling and trying to make my way through menues and stuff. It also doesn't connect to the internet over wifi. I have an pci HP wifi card in it, but I can't give you any specifics. I haven't tried my ethernet yet to see if that works, but I am not real hopeful. I am having problems with is the audio, it isn't outputting anything. The last thing that isn't working is the bluetooth; I have a rocketfish bluetooth adapter that is plugged in but not doing anything. How can I fix these problems? Thanks everyone, I am really stupid when it comes to operating systems that aren't windows.
