    Broadcom 57XX Chipsets

Any of you succesfully patch a 169a? it looks to me a suicidal mission..
  7. 1. First prepare your 8GB flash Drive. Split on one single GUID Partition, and name it…for example "Snow" Restore your Snow Leopard on that newly created USB Dirive (source: Snow Leo 10.6 installer, target: USB HDD "Snow") DONT CHECK "ERASE DESTINATION" 2. After that, install Chameleon 2 RC 4 (inside folder) 3. Copy boot and extra folder inside. Restart Laptop and boot from USB Stick. 4. When laptop boots from USB HDD, erase and partition your Internal HDD (one partition, GUID) and start install. 5. After install finish, restart, and in bootloader (chameleon) choose your newly Internal HDD (macintosh HD or Untitled…) 6. After welcome screen, install a Chameleon 2 RC4 on Internal HDD. 7. Install a MacOSX 10.6.3 v 1.1 combinied update. Restart. 8. After computer boots again, don't yet unplug your USB HDD.to 9. From USB HDD copycom.apple.Boot.plist to Extra. remove HDA Enabler.kext and AppleHDA.kext from S/L/E 10. WIth a kexthelper install install all kept except Network ("BCM") Restart. 11. Check if trackpad, keyboard and audio work. If not, try again. The point is to remove AppleHDA kexts and put voodoo!!! After that….first install AppleBCM5787MEthernet.kext Reboot 12. After reboot, you will notice a new Netwrok interface in Network preference, but with non operational DHCP!! restart! 13. After reboot, go to S/L/E-IONetworkingfamiliy, "Show package content"-Contents-Plugins-and replace AppleBCM5701Ethernet.kext restart! After that, you will have a full working LAN Ethernet! SUMMA SUMMARUM: Tottaly Vanila, works all, in my case I have a Broadcom WiFI, instead of atheros, so everytinh works well. Crystaleye cam works with camtwist hack… maybe in future, webcam will work OOTB. Aspire_5720_Files.zip
  8. whole specification you can find here: but, I dont know how you manage to get webcam work? Is it work out of the box or you tweak some kexts?

    Broadcom 570x and 575x

So far..I somehow have a ghosts on my network interface. ) That broadcom adapter im on board NIC and it dont work rom a first day. I install realtek on my PCI and everything work Out of the box, but.... I wanna use my on board Broadcom. I use that noobix ionetw...kext and install it... After the reboot, i get 2 network interfaces, one is working PCI Realtek (en0) and other I assume it showing en1, but without a MAC address.. I assume that would be a broadcom. When I want to edit that NIC in terminal, after i write "sudo ifconfig en1 it gives me a error that en1 interface dont exist, but I can cleraly see it on network preferences same as on System profiler!!!!??

    Broadcom 570x and 575x

SO far...for 578x still no support... I tried a trick with changing ID, but nothing hapen. I have 14a1:169a I even try to edit present kext, just to switch letters and number, but no luck
  11. looks like i stuck in endless loop of SAtA channle problem...
  12. I have MSI MS-7352 Mobo with a intel Q33 chipset which is basicaly a similiar Mobo (mATX) so somehow I manage to partially install SL, but using a improved AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext form Dune. but still have problem that mobo dont see other two SATA devices (incl a SATA optical drive). And pretty buggy boot... I described all here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=211538 any solutions to see that "losts" SATA devices?
  13. Extra.zipDear Fellas! EDIT: Thnks to zemmo, i include a completely workng Extra folder, but SAtA problems same as sleep still remains. According to expolring, USB controlers are really buggy, so for succes boot, you must disable USB on board So far, we reach the point where MOBO still partioally works, but just only with 2 sata channels. I partialy manage to run Snow Leopard on that specific MoBo (you cannot find it on official MSI site) The real machine is Compaq dx7400 with Intel Q33 chipset in ICH9, mine particualry configuration is Intel Quad core 2,6 and have 4 SATA channels, 6 GB RAM and nvidia GeForce 9600 GSO 384 DDR3 RAM. I combined with that two methods: 1. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=209776 2. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=183751 but result is alwyas tricky, sometimes I need to boot in verbose, sometimes boot with both verbose and ignore caches, sometimes SL hangs durnig boot and what is most buggy thing, I use improved AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext, and with that kext I only see 2 of my four SATA devices (optical drive included). Is it because Nothbridge/Southbrige!!??? On 10.5.8 that specific mobo works perfect with iAtkos, but here...it is PURE EXORCISM!!!!!! What works: Audio (ALC662) Network (have spare PCI Realtek) All USB ports Nvidia GeForce 9600 GS0 (use NVenabler 64.kext) NOT WORK: SATA channels (just two of them, other two where is my DVD-RAM, not recognised) Sleep Partialy (when I put my comp to sleep, it wakes on demand, but monitor is blank) Boot (it is reaaly pain in the ass boot process) The essential thing is that my BIOS is update to latest update from HP website (1.14) and in BIOS I dont have any options to configure SATA-ICH9 channel, just basic stuff, like FDD, Boot option, and native ports cofigs I dont know what I do wrong, maybe my dsdt.aml. I patch my dsdt with a method on number 2 of method on a same computer, booted on Snow leopard via USA hard drive (maybe that is catch) or just just that lates driver dont load particular ICH9 channel or...maybe of transition of Merkur in third house...I dont know So please, can you help me to solve my problem, so I can write gude a whole "cookbook" hot to install? I Attached my EXTRA folder which I use to partialy boot, so maybe here is problem!!?? so, again...PLEASE HELP!!!! Please HELP!!!! ...i am desperate
