  1. I'm not a guru but from what I know is that you need some patching such as: DSDT patch Kexts (the lesser kexts you have the lesser kernel panic if you get the right KEXTs that is...) EFI Strings for video card Bootloader Is it core 2 duo? If not you need to boot flag to: -cpu1 Any installation method would work since you got a retail dvd already just get a bootloader. read up there lots of bootloaders you can use to boot the dvd... There is stacks of trial and errors. I got 3 Snow leopard running so I'm testing and debugging and its headscratching I tell you...lol
  2. Asus P5E DSDT fixes

Oh that's {censored} man, I got 8 gigs man, no way I'm running 1 stick only...Hmmm hope this can be fixed soon, otherwise I have to stick to 10.5.8 .............
  3. Asus P5E DSDT fixes

Yes the error is: IOAPIC: Version 0x20 Vectors 64:87 Bios 1201 same kext you have.
  4. Asus P5E DSDT fixes

I got the same bios as you same kext everything in the right folder, but when starting up it just froze there.... why is that? in verbose mode it says ioapic error cannot remember.
  5. Asus P5E DSDT fixes

I tried this, does not work even with gui and mbr partitioning...just doesn't boot at all.
  6. After 10 days plus of trial and errors, I have now brick solid stable Core 2 Duo @ 3.72Ghz, Asus P5E Deluxe, Asus 9600GT working. For those who still have that trouble with BLUE SCREEN at login/startup, here's what I did: I used all the kexts from this website , rebuild the kexts I need with mkexttool, using 9800 GT efi strings in com.apple.boot.plist, install 10.6.1 update but before I restart, I changed the screen resolution to my need, put pc to sleep > wake it up again > change the refresh rate > put computer to sleep > wake up again > restart computer and voila no more blue screen disappear. i had no external hdd connected. I cannot guarantee if this will succeed for you or not. I did fresh installation about 5 times just to get it working... Note that some kext only works for various version. If you have older kext version it will cause kernel panic issues. 10.6.2 gave me kernel panic due to video card. GOODLUCK!!! So summarize: Chameleon Boot RC3 DSDT patched with some fixes AD1988b.Fix.Kext AHCIPortInjector.kext AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext AppleVIAATA.kext ElliottForceLegacyRTC.kext fakesmc.kext IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext JMicronAtA.kext LegacyAppleYukon2.kext Natit.kext NullCPUPowerManagement.kext NVinject.kext OpenHalthRestart.kext OSXRestart.kext PlatformUUID.kext SleepEnabler.kext
  7. Oh man, I tried every method i found on the web for P5E motherboard, but installation gets kernel panic on 17minutes to go. What am I doing wrong???
  8. Any Success on an Asus P5E (x38)

My build specifications is below: Asus P5E Core 2 Duo @ 3.7Gig Corsair DDR2 8Gig Western Digital 500Gig(IDE) You should get iATKOS (10.5.7) install it. Once finished, run Apple Update Software to get yourself to 10.5.8. Restart and enjoy.
