  1. That provided me with a new driver for the one card that was working, but still no change.
  2. Thank you for responding. Not sure what you mean by support. If it was "fully" supported then I wouldn't have this problem. Tried NVidia's El Capitan drivers but it seems 10.11.2 isn't supported yet as it reports an unsupported version. Soooo... I have an older Apple NVidia GT120 card with 512m of memory the acted exactly like the newer one I have installed on boot up starting with Maverick. I had read that El Capitan liked at least 1gig of video memory so that is why I upgraded. The newer video card has been flashed to work on Apple. Bought an older NVidia with DVI and VGA didn't make any progress as of yet.
  3. This is strictly a MacPro 1'1 Question

    Google Pikify 3.1 , I have a mac pro 1.1 running el capitan 10.11.2
  4. I have managed to overcome the 32bit EFI problem and get El Capitan 10.11.2 running on my 2006 Mac Pro. Everything looks good except I have a few issues. Currently I am not using Clover or anything else in the EFI. During the boot my screen is entirely blank. I have an entirely blank screen with no apple logo. My monitor is blinking with no screen signal present until all of the sudden I have a login screen. Everything is normal from there on. This means I am blind during the boot process. The keyboard is active so I can do things like hold the option key down etc. Just can't see anything. I would like to be able to select different drives during the boot process. Is there a NVRAM setting I can use that might help? Command V does nothing. I remember reading something about needing a VGA monitor or something. Any work around out there? Also, I am using a modified NVidia GeForce GT120 with 1g memory that has two dvi plugs. I have attached a second monitor to the card. I can't get it recognized by detect button in the preference display module. Do I have to install a second video card to run two monitors? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  5. EBIOS read error on boot

Turns out if I insert a memory chip in my card reader.. Doesn't matter what is on it. the problem goes away. the single scan fix in my plist did not help. considering this fixed as good enough.
  6. I have a Dell Inspiron 5737 that is functioning on 10.9.2 but I have this annoying issue of having to boot with the -v flag in Chameleon or my boot fails with an EBios read error. I have very limited options in my bios, so about all i have is the option to select legacy bios
  7. I am on with the help of the Hackintosh Vietnam tool. it was the rtl8100 kext that solved the problem. for wifi I am using a usb pivot that works fine so I will close this thread.
  8. Okay, I am getting really close. I am using Laura Millers latest Realtek RTL8111.kext I can now see the cable plugging in and out. says ethernet is connected but can't auto sense my internet connection. Putting the values in manually doesn't get me there. log shows: 2014-03-25 23:47:49 -0700 kernel[0]: Ethernet [RealtekRTL8111]: EEE support enabled. 2014-03-25 23:47:49 -0700 kernel[0]: Ethernet [RealtekRTL8111]: TCP/IPv4 segmentation offload enabled. 2014-03-25 23:47:49 -0700 WindowServer[128]: Server is starting up 2014-03-25 23:47:49 -0700 kernel[0]: Ethernet [RealtekRTL8111]: TCP/IPv6 checksum offload enabled. 2014-03-25 23:47:49 -0700 kernel[0]: Ethernet [RealtekRTL8111]: Using interrupt mitigate value 0xcf68. 2014-03-25 23:47:49 -0700 kernel[0]: unknown chip version (44800000) my system info shows: Realtek RTL8168B/8111B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet: Name: ethernet Type: Ethernet Controller Bus: PCI Vendor ID: 0x10ec Device ID: 0x8136 Subsystem Vendor ID: 0x1028 Subsystem ID: 0x05ec Revision ID: 0x0007 Link Width: x1 BSD name: en0 Kext name: RealtekRTL8111.kext Location: /System/Library/Extensions/RealtekRTL8111.kext Version: 1.1.3 annoying but close, any suggestions out there?
  9. Run Mavericks on i7 Haswell?

I have a Dell Inspiron 17R 5737 with those specs and have it running on Maverick 10.9.2. It is doable but takes some time. Still working on getting the network cards running.... getting closer. but graphics HD4400 and sound 283 are all running. Been working on my DSDT but it is a work in progress.
  10. I see a few folks have looked at my problem but no help. I have made a little progress on my own but still no go. On the Athernos wifi, I was able to modify the Atheros40.kext but the IONetworkFamily is looking for a plugin to match. Any suggestions as to where to look or try to find a plugin? On the Realtek 8139 I am close but no cigar. I used IONetfamily and added a AppleRTL8139.kext to the plugin folder. I left the info.list unmodified to my device address so it doesn't load. Next installed the PCGenRTL8139.kext in my s/l/e folder and bingo! I have an ethernet card. It sees all the pertinent info like mac address and so on. So what is the problem? It says my cable is unplugged. I have tried manual settings but no luck. My cable is not unplugged as it works fine when I reboot in windows 8.1. My sense is that the PCGen kext is just too far out of date. Any suggestions?
  11. My Dell Laptop is mostly running with 10.9.2. My main problem is that I can't get the internal wifi Atheros AR9565 802.11 to work or the internal LAN which is a Realtek RTL 8139/810x fast Ethernet adapter to work. Does anyone have a kext that would work? I have tried updating the IO80211Family.kext to include my device as well as some DSDT edits. DPCi Manager reports: 168C, 0036, 1028, 020C, Qualcomm Atheros, QCA9565 / AR9565 Wireless Network Adapter 10EC, 8136, 1028, 05EC, Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd., RTL8101E/RTL8102E PCI Express Fast Ethernet controller My system uses the Haswell i7-4500 ULT cpu and has HD4400 GPU. That all is working fine. I had to use the hack on the mach_kernel to get past the initial panic error but since then I have made slow but sure progress getting things going. Editing the DSDT is not my forte and a lot has changed since my first hack several years ago. My question is which path should bear fruit? I can try to hack kexts that are close or try find DSDT patches that will get it going. I have no idea what is best to do.
  12. [GUIDE] 1st Generation Intel HD Graphics QE/CI

I have an i5-430 cpu @2.66 w/hm57 chipset running only intel hd graphics it is a Dell 17R n7010 laptop. Currently i am running at 1440x900 graphics on ML 10.8.2 i was following the initial work of Rem and got it to work with the modules edit. What I just realized is that one of the reasons for this working was the fact that I had an external monitor connected to my laptop. If I remove it, it goes back to 1024x768. i will try the new kexts and see if this changes.
  13. [SOLVED] Resolution Hack for 1st Gen Intel HD Graphics

first I want to say THANKYOU! I have been trying to get this going for three years! With your help, I finally broke the 1024x768 barrier. I have hit 1440x900 with your suggestions. I am using a Dell 17R N7010 with i5-480m cpu with Intel HD graphics. Running MTN Lion 10.8.2 HM57 chipset 4g memory full sound etc. not working wifi, but I can live without. on win 7 i have 1600x900 not sure where 1440 comes from but who cares? so now i have win7, win8 and ML 10.8.2 on a $500 dell laptop. thanks.
  14. Looking for some suggestions. I am running 10.6.7 on the 10.7.3 kernel. I am using a DSDT and a few extra\extension kexts. Mainly I am running vanilla kexts in the s/l/e. This is a i5-480M. I have edited the smbios.plist to say i am a MBP 8.1 I have successfully (sortof) loaded the AppleIntelGraphicsHD.kext, AppleIntelGraphicsHDFB, GLDriver.Bundle, SNBGraphicsFB, and SNBVA.bundle, but when I load the VADriver.bundle and the GA.plugin problems arise. My system does boot and gets by the end of boot hang but the display goes to {censored}. The screen is severely interlaced and ICONs replicated. I can actually guess where the prompts are and and run stuff including shutdown but it is not functional by any means, since you can't really read anything. Up until loading these last two drivers I was only the 1024x768x32 resolution. I was poking around in the plist for the framebuffer(FB).kext looking for possible setting that could be switched but didn't seem productive. It feels like I am really close anybody have any suggestions?
