10.5.4 installed on HP D530 SFF

Hi guys, I was hoping for a little help with my D530. I have installed JaS 10.5.4 which works for a while then starts to get kernel panic ever increasingly then wont boot. I have just tried iDeneb V1.4 10.5.6 which kernel panics at the start of the install process. Does anyone have any ideas on what to try? Thanks in advance! Rich.

  4. Hi guys, I have got my OSX 86 box working but i have a couple of problem (Maybe serious!) Firstly, i have got my HP D530 working with a 10GB Quantum Fireball HDD and seems to work ok. When i try and install using a 40GB Seagate or a 40GB Maxtor i get the error below. After the install is complete the system reboots and the grey apple screen appears after a few minutes i get a crossed out circle appear over the apple logo. If i boot using -v as an option i constantly get 'Waiting for Root'. The settings on both drives are the same. My second problem is that the system profiler reports that my CPU is 3.2Ghz Unknown. The actual processor is a 2.8Ghz P4. Im not overly worried if this is only cosmetic, my worry is that after about 10 mins i start to get the apple needs to restart, press and hold the power button screen. After a couple of reboots and this screen becoming more frequent the system wont start at all. I left the machine a couple of hours and now it reboots. I guess that i am unintentionally overclocking the CPU and thhe processor is frying and causing the system to crash. Hopefully someone can help!!!!!!! Thanks in advance! Rich.

    HP D530 Intel 865G

Hi There, Im a real noob to OSX86 but i am used to OSX as i have a Macbook. I used the information here http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofiversi...hp/t128133.html and for the most part the install seems to have worked. I am however having trouble with the graphics. I get an image but OSX believes that my best resolution is 1024 x 768 when i know that both card and monitor can handle 1280 x 1024 The machine is a HP D530 SFF and i believe it has an Intel Extreme Graphics (Intel 865G Chipset) Im hoping that someone can help me work this out! Thanks in advance!!!! Rich

    HP D530 Soundmax AC97

Hi There, Im a real noob to OSX86 but i am used to OSX as i have a Macbook. I used the information here http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofiversi...hp/t128133.html and for the most part the install seems to have worked. I am however having trouble with the sound card. OSX doesnt seem to think that a sound card is present. The machine is a HP D530 SFF and i believe it has a Soundmax AC97 Digital. Its not major to get this sorted as i use an external audio interface. Im hoping that someone can help me work this out! Thanks in advance!!!! Rich.
