  1. I was in the process of cleaning up and organizing files when I decided (big mistake) to try hide the boot files required for chameleon I'm assuming. I used an app which you drag files/folders onto to hide them, I'm not sure exactly what files they were but they are the ones that sit in your ~ directory. From memory they included.. sw bin dht.something (started with d thats all i remember) and some others Some got hidden and others said permissions denied. Anyway! I'm sure you know what files I'm talking about.. After a reset I can no longer boot, it just comes up with that grey box "you need to restart etc" How can I undo this? Hopefully without having to reinstall anything. Please please please help I need it running for work. Thank you!! **EDIT** Ok I tried undoing what I did by using my laptop and an external hd case and running the app again and unhiding the files but no luck. I'm thinking I need to reinstall chameleon or maybe leopard. Btw my computer was build around this http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=185097 I thought I won't touch anything until someone gives me a heads up before I do some more damage haha.
  2. ScreenRecyler

I'm trying to use ScreenRecycler with my hackintosh although every time I open it, it comes up with this. "Can't find ScreenRecyclerDriver." I have tried installing it twice but no results, I'm assuming it has something to do with my Hackintosh because it works fine on my Macbook. If there is anything I should post to help out the problem please say so. Also is there another method of doing this, I know its along the lines of creating a virtual display with a VNC server but ScreenRecycler is the only software I have found so far. Thanks
  3. ATI 4870 Slow Dual Display

As the title says when I have dual displays running (extended and different resolutions) everything seems to run slower (expose, dashboard) not too sure how its effecting the overall speed of applications and games. I did however run OpenGLExtensionsviewer and got basically the same results with dual displays enabled and disabled. Other notes.. 4. Thank you for the reply although I'm confused to what you mean, I'm fairly new to all of this. From what I have figured you are talking about the system.kext in ~system/library/extensions. (found in system profiler) System Version: Mac OS X 10.5.7 (9J61) Kernel Version: Darwin 9.7.0 How can I find out what system.kext I have and where can I get the correct one?
  5. As the title says every time i insert a cd the computer freezes up but if i have the cd already in there before loading up os x its fine. Any ideas? Logs i can check? Cheers
  6. Is this possible

Have an app open once a display (LCD TV) has been detected after it has been turned on. I only use my tv as a larger LCD to watch movies on using Plex, I know its not much or any hassle to just open Plex manually but it would be cool to have it open itself once my TV has been turned on. Using Quicksilver or Automator maybe? I'm fairly new to OS X and im not really sure how everything works. Thanks!
  7. Logitech AK5370 Microphone

FIXED! by upgrading Chameleon to the RC2
  8. Logitech AK5370 Microphone

I have this microphone installed and detected but there is some weird skipping/jumping. I have this problem in Ventrilo and also tested in Audacity with the same results. I have tried putting it in differnt USB ports. Not sure what else to do it was working fine with my Windows system. Any ideas? I just tested another USB microphone and am getting the same results so it must have something to do with the USB not the microphpne.
  9. i have this exact card same brand and everything. works perfectly with dual display, not sure about the sleep as i don't even use it. just a warning for anyone who buys radeon cards DONT buy any with the HDMI VGA DVI ports, i had only trouble with my last card (radeon 4580) and just ended up replacing it with a 4870 with 2 DVI ports. other people managed to get theres to work but i couldnt and i tried everything just save the hassle.
  10. Hey mate, Thank you for the suggestion I gave it a go but still no luck. Can you please go into a bit more detail of how you got yours working. I used the following natit.kext the natit package the patched frame buffers Also what port/s are you using for your display.
  11. Thanks mate I just ended up putting my older Nvidia card in which is fast enough anyway. Everything working great now. Thanks alot for the script and support.
  12. Also having problem with the Memory its coming up with "There was an error while gathering this information." and only coming as 6GB 400mhz in About this Mac (its corsair 1600 non dominator". Cheers
  13. Hi, I have followed all the steps in the install and everything seems to be working except after the White Apple Logo screen it fades to blue and the display goes black and my monitor displays that its going into power saving mode. I am using a Sapphire 4850 1GB with HDMI, DVI, VGA ports. I have tried rebooting using all the ports and still no luck. It sounds like its booted into OSX. I installed using the first method from my MacBook but have not had a chance to install the DSDT Patch because I can't see anything. Any ideas?
  14. Hey I'm a Windows user that has decided to switch over to OS X so this will be my first Hackintosh I will be building. After reading the forums and doing some research on Google this is what I have come up with. Intel Core i7-920 DDR3 i7 6GB Kit 1600 G.SkillC9 Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 ATI 4850 1GB Sapphire Coolermaster RC-690K 3.5" WD Raptor 36GB 16MB (work files, scratch disk) 700W Seasonic M12 And 3 x 7200 SATA hardrives from my current pc. I will be using this mostly for the Adobe CS4 products and for games (dual booted). Any recommendations or thoughts would be great. Cheers!
